Character only seem to be making the CB figures for that part at the moment not the sets so perhaps we could get a set line from lego whilst CB still makes its minitures. There were supposed to be lots of new CB sets this year but they were cancelled which may mean their brief by BBC has changed and they only want CB to make figures not sets which could mean they have seen Lego's superior sets and hopefully will task them with it.

I hope for Doctor Who to win and Lego to take the idea and make their own range of sets using the license!! If lego was to aquire doctor who like with simpsons there should be a doctor who lego episode maybe where clara and the doctor end up in the lego universe and have to save it with the help of Gandalf, Batman e.t.c, that'd be amazing!

If lego get the doctor who license from ideas and take over from character building then lego Doctor Who collectable minfigures would sell like hotcakes (alongside sets of course!).

REVIEW: 71007 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 12
legofreak86 replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great new line of figures. If you ask me from the distinct facial, functional and hair style of the Dino tracker just seems to me a way of Lego trying to make a Katniss everdeen style Lego figure without getting the license. Amusing move lego...- 156 replies

Plus with DG lego have pretty much given us the means to recreate an entire HUGE battle sequence in Dol Guldur from film 3. t is also clear to me that all of them are supposed to represent the biggest sequences in that location. Lego have pretty much given us the means to have: The entire white council fight against Sauron and his forces in Dol Guldur. Saruman is readily available also. All three sets combine and I believe some of these ideas for the last year's DOS sets were when there were to be two movies meaning that perhaps Beorn will join the council against sauron in dol guldur in film 3. On the banner at comic con you can clearly see Galadriel, Elrond and Gandalf in midst of a battle and even saruman is near the back of the photo wielding his staff. So clearly some HUGE fight against the necromancer and his allies takes place in this fortress in the movie. I kind a love that in a way they have given us the whole journey and all the big events from the films. It all fits together in progression like the story banners.

Yeah that's my view also. I would've preferred Armoured Thranduil but I guess one carryover figure out of several new figures is pretty damn good. I' compelled to see what the full set looks like as I wonder whats on the other side. Some sort of tower I guess. Really people are complaining about no armies but LOTR sets gave one Rohan soldier and a lot of variations of main characters, no more, no less so its not as if its unexpected not to get armies. To be quite honest to the movie itself they aren't really so much as an important part of recreating the narrative so much as they are there fighting in the background whilst the movie focusses on the main characters in the midst of it.
-
The Underlying Problem with the Armies themselves not appearing is kids don't want them. Kids like main characters and someone to face off with them. Someone above mentioned the stormtrooper analogy. I agree with that, when I was younger all I wanted was all the main characters and plenty of bad guys (storm troopers, Orcs, battle droids, goons e.tc). Lego are smart this way. They know when kids watch the movies they are going to be focussing on the main players: Thorin, Gandalf, Bilbo, Bard e.t.c. There is undoubtedly going to be a big fight between Azog and Thorin as its the end of the trilogy and its sort of been leading up to something like that with Thorin's failed attempts in AUJ and hatred against Azog. As that's probably quite an important confrontation in the film OF COURSE Lego would want to focus on it. Its like the lightsaber duel if I may use that as an analogy between hero and villain. When I watched the prequel trilogy of star wars in the theatre when I was younger that's all me and the rest of the kids at school wanted to see: Jedi vs. Sith! Same principle with this I guarantee kids will be transfixed in Thorin vs Azog and the wizards in dol guldur as those are big segments with main characters. Plus they are bound to remember the dragon, the windlance, lake town and the inside of erebor from both films especially DOS. I wish we didn't have another useless legolas, I would've hoped he would at least be in his DOS/BO5A costume or better yet if it had to be a main character a thranduil in armour would've been great. Its a shame we get bain over bolg but in lego's eyes he must be important to that scene. All in all I am at least thankful we got smaug, the black arrow, 2 new bards, Thorin in armour, Elrond armour, witch king of angmar, Galadriel, Bilbo in blue, the dwarves in armour, Dain ironfoot. Really the only unnecessary figure is another armoured legolas. This way other than Gandalf and bolg they have pretty much covered every important main character which was probably their aim. Plus at least azog has a new face with an angry growl rather than smile as a smile would be out of place here.

We could get one in November or December to promote the movie. But that's probably wishful thinking.

You guys reckon Bard will come with a sword and a bow as the trailer has him wielding one maybe a gunmetal would look good like the witch king's.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
legofreak86 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
He apparently in his largest version is as tall as a building I heard but the one on the Magazine cover is same height as cap and Iron man. I'd assume he would be their height in a lot of scenes as he according to whedon can build himself up at will. This makes me think there will be a regular MF size for him as well as sentinel size. -

I reckon there will be a minfigure version like on the magazine and minfigure drones but also a larger groot sized one described in the AOU trailer as he can change size and build himself up perhaps as he Is the "loki" of the wave there will be three different versions. Prototype with the A logo and the battle damage and blue eyes, Normal one from the magazine cover and Sentinel size in biggest set. -

Darkseid (apart from in new 52) is as tall as doctor doom who got a normal minfigure that looks perfect. That big fig just looks ridiculous next to superman. His Fist is the size of supes torso. How could those two even trade blows. Darkseid's arms wouldn't even reach supes. This is like making a big fig out of the kingpin. Unnecessary and limits uses. That's just my spin on the matter. This plus a moulded helmet would look perfect to classic Darkseid http://farm8.static.flickr.com/7060/13985550684_10c885d935.jpg -

Add a helmet to the game version and update the face with red eyes on one side of the head and angry growl and it would look great. Another advantage of minfigure darkseid is double sided face for omega beams and angry or smile. We'll know soon enough as the next wave is based on LB3 and he will most undoubtedly be in the game. -

Hmmm to each his own but that design isn't the best darkseid I've ever seen. Personally I thought he was a bit weakly played in Justice League War. I think Michael Ironside's calculating and vocally imposing version looks and sounds far better. Andre Braugher's take was awesome too and he looked the best. -

Still no moving legs or head and limited poseablity is quite a sacrifice in favour of size I think. Nuffsaid1996: Can you provide an image of what he looked like on LB2? So we can get an idea of how a minfigure version would look. -

Personally I'd rather have a darkseid like this http://cdn.static.ovimg.com/episode/452061.jpg than one like this: http://www.dvdtalk.c...392327413_8.jpg This design would be ideal: http://4.bp.blogspot...id-and-cape.jpg visually it looks the best and height wise it looks good. Hulk size is just too large and has terrible pose ability can't even move legs or turn head. -
It might have the scarred one from the tower set I suppose. I would've thought they'd want to do the blue one clean as in most of the promo material and the trailer has him without scars but we'll have to wait and see.

I'd rather have a small Darkseid who you can move his legs and pose him rather than a useless hulk no moving legs one that would tower over superman making any confrontations you could set up with him limited. That's the problem with the Green Goblin Marvel figure. You can't really have spider man go up against him as his fist is as big as a minifigure torso. I'd rather either they make an inbetween mold like hagrid got but looking like darkseid as he is a bit taller than supes but only by an inch or two. A minifigure with new moulded armour and helmet like they did with zod would work well as he would be as tall if not a bit taller than superman but not so large that he looked ridiculously oversized next to the other villains. -

Well from the rumoured list and what we know: Green Lantern. Sinestro, Space Batman, Superman (new design?), Martian Manhunter, Supergirl, Braniac, Black Manta, Gorilla Grodd, Darkseid. Figures we could get based on the set names: Batman duh! (new 52), flash, Aqua man (different design?), Killer Croc (manta set maybe?), Joker (how can Lego resist), Cyborg, Wonder Woman (new 52), Lex (possible) -

To be honest i'd just go for a regular minfigure darkseid as he and superman are almost the same height and you don't want him to look tiny compared to darkseid. They should do what they did for ronan and zod, mould a new helmet piece with a moulded armour maybe like with Azog's figure. Either way. There's no point nor need for a Big Fig darkseid. Sam892: That would be an interesting twist if he was. Only time will tell. -

Darkseid in a daily planet set reminds me of Justice League animated Finale. You don't suppose the game might be like marvel superheroes where Doom/loki was the main antagonist then at the end Galactus pops up, could that happen with Braniac and Darkseid?? Just the fact that its rumoured he will get a physical figure blows my mind!!! Really looking forward to this next wave!!! -
Why another task master? We already have a cartoon style one from this wave's assemble sets. Surely another new villain would be good. Someone from the main spidey foes like Lizard or Rhino.

I have a strong feeling that the elf wall set is from the BO5A movie. Maybe Sauron's forces also attack the woodland realm as well as erebor/dale. I mean thranduil must have some cause for heading to erebor as when we last saw him he sealed off his kingdom and forbade anyone to enter or leave it. Plus he ordered reconnaissance of the area and that he be notified if anyone moved. If Sauron's forces enter mirkwood then maybe that shot of Azog from the first Desolation trailer was the Orcs trying to breach one of the outer walls of the elven kingdom. Maybe the orcs try to pass through thranduil's kingdom and he and his men attack the orcs and Azog but they get away and journey onward to the mountain. Thranduil still wants the stuff he said in desolation was rightfully his in the mountain which maybe causes him to Marshall his army to go and take erebor by force and maybe get there before Azog. That would explain 1. why the Lego set with thranduil and the wall exists and 2. why thranduil left his barricaded kingdom. It would also explain why there is no shot like the Azog one in the entire desolation and not even one with a different character that bears any resemblance. Just a thought. That would give last year's set a bit more meaning. Just a guess there.

Hmm looks like the dol guldur set when folded in has pins on one side. Maybe it does connect to last year's sets. That would be good.
