Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
legofreak86 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don't think theres any getting away from a molded section attached to the torso if he is a minifigure. I mean Ultron's head is an odd shape and would look quite flat with just printing on a bog standard head. Considering Azog, Ronan,Yoda, Plo Koon, Rocket Raccoon e.t.c have utilized similar, i think it is quite likely that he will at least have a moulded headpiece or maybe a piece to create the antennas on either side of his head. Then again considering the latest general grievous i could imagine something like that with a new unique to him sculpt and moving arms and legs like grievous has. -

Those are the costumes from the new movie as Thor has never worn black and gold before and thats not the WW2 version of cap or the stealth or avengers versions as none of those have that mix of red and brown and Armour mixed with classic styling in their designs. The Iron Man Armour we have already seen is a color reversed Mk 42 (43?). They are movie accurate. No idea where scarlet witch or quicksilver are though. I like Widow's, Fury's and Hawkeye's new looks though! I'd guess all of the characters seen here will end up in sets. Its gonna be a good wave as it will hopefully give us the newest definitive versions of those character's looks as of 2015 as we missed out on TWS or TDW sets. Plus with black widow's hairstyle in this film well known, Lego won't mess it up and base their figure off the concept where she had long hair. Plus hulk will most likely have darker less vivid purple pants. With the amount of Avengers 2 sets confirmed i reckon it will be miles better than the original avengers wave which was a bit weak tbh. -
In the final battle when they were filming in the pictures Thorin didn't appear to be wearing any Armour. The first time that bulky Armour has been seen is in the first trailer. Maybe he dons it for the battle but it gets smashed off or something or he discards it during. You are right about Azog though maybe he wasn't finished. It would be odd to put an unfinished version on official merch though. Probably also explains why we got the armourless version.

Just a thought guys but the calendar for the movie has been unveiled and it clearly shows Thorin fighting azog in the ruins on the cover and azog is not wearing his armour so maybe lego was right afterall. http://38.media.tumblr.com/88c776f5bc78254db2d5263c080bbaaa/tumblr_ndibrtDJEM1sml467o1_1280.jpg http://33.media.tumblr.com/6ba99c483b5b4beb53181c1f2a6049cf/tumblr_ndij3pZKrg1r50xflo3_r3_500.jpg

Hmmm.... The Avengers AOU action figures look impressive! Sadly only a small picture but i can garner that the hulkbuster's scale in action figure form is twice the size of the hulk himself. Nick fury has a new look, he's dropped the hat and hoodie now it appears a short leather jacket and a padded fleace or jumper of some description are his thing along with the sunglasses but more sleek. I wonder if we can expect similar in the Lego range? Ultron's action figure scale intrigues me, he is the same height as the hulk in action figure form oddly enough. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/JoshWildingNewsAndReviews/news/?a=109518 I'd imagine we'd get similar designs in minifigure form as that was the same with the action figures for AA and the lego sets of 2012. I wonder how tall Lego Ultron will be? -

I'd just settle for a bus and Lola set with all of the Agents, John Garrett and Deathlok as a tribute to how the show began. The bus could be same size as the Millennium Falcon and have an interior that's accessible with a couple of the rooms from the show plus the cockpit. Or go the Milano route and have that sort of size with a spacious area in the middle for seating e.t.c. Lola could be a two seater (comfortably seats two people) with the same mechanism on nick fury's car with the fold up wheels. If we never got another set from it again then just that would be fine! -

WOW A UCS HELICARRIER!! At that price i'd want a death star 10188 standard set. With lots of Minifigures. Maybe about the same as Death Star! The carrier itself could include elements from cap 2 and avengers. Such as the bridge flight deck from Avengers, the Loki cell room from Avengers and the hangar from avengers then in the underside the room where winter soldier and cap fight from that movie and the guns from TWS. Figure wise lego should really push it: Fury, Hill, Coulson, Cap (stealth suit) or WW2, Winter soldier, Thor, Loki (with hair), Steve rogers, Bruce banner, Hawkeye without glasses, Falcon, Black widow (TWS), a couple of shield soldiers, 2 shield officers, 2 strike guards, hulk and a pilot, Tony Stark, Battle damaged mark 6 armour. Should also include a mini shield jet that can fit a minifigure but is small enough to look relatively scaled like with the tie advanced in the death star. That would be like the ultimate marvel set and like with the death star a perfect tribute to Marvel's early films (phase 1 and 2.) -

Cool figure! Honestly I'd have preferred Dane Dehaan's Green Goblin or Gwen Stacy... -
Yeah PLus shadow guards don't look like that. They look like the Imperial Guard but Black, that helmet is identical to the one the inquisitor wears in the promo photos of the series and the action figure already released. Can't wait to see the face, Lego have hit it out of the ballpark with this figure especially that lightsaber handle! WOW! Watched the Rebels Premiere yesterday on DisneyXDUk, twas awesome! Literally cannot wait to see more rebels episodes and more Rebels Lego!! I'm getting 10188 Death Star today as I have enough finally!!! I've been waiting six years!

The Arrow it appears will have stubble as he does in the game and an angry face and a determined face from what I can tell. Epically he is being voiced by Steven Amell (Arrow on the TV show)in Lego Batman 3!! That makes this figure all the more precious as it is based on a Amell vocal performance. Plus coming to think of it the face is very similar to amell's with the stubble and the hair. They may have taken inspiration from that too. -
Yeah! Thanks for advice. My gut was honestly going with the falcon as its just all round brilliant and a great price!
-
I'm really considering the Star Destroyer as Smyths have a great reduction on it but they also have the 2011 falcon reduced in there at an equally good price and I never bought any of the old falcons or destroyers. Which is better out of those two?

Not too keen on Darkseid, I just don't think the hunched over style works and would have preferred a minfigure one as this one's fist is as big as superman's torso. I understand its New 52 but the version I like best is the one Michael Ironside brought to life in the animated series. no movement in legs just destroys the playability and use factor for me. I'll get the set for green arrow and the rest but darkseid himself is a disappointment for me Otherwise: Well done LEGO!!!! Great selection of characters: The gang is all there and a couple of extras which is nice. Six non batman DC villains is excellent! Grodd looks great as does sinestro, Manta, Capt. cold, Braniac is sure to be like the videogame where he looks awesome! I love the new batman the black head with printing and the new mask and the body armour and belt details look amazing. Got to be one of the best comic book Batmen we have had. Flash and Aqua are carryovers which is a shame as Aqua man could have at least had a beard and shorter hair. What's great with these sets is you can pretty much collect the whole JL with these sets. Plus some other heroes! Add that to great new villains and some pretty cool looking sets and more variety than just in Gotham city with some undersea, space, metropolis locations. ROLL ON 2015!!! -
If they do an Armoured Thranduil giveaway, then he'd need to be armed with Two Silver Katana with the circular rather than the square bit under the blade. They are the closest match Lego has to thranduil's swords in the battle. His cape would need to be silver and be textured like they did with Galadriel. They could just reuse the normal thranduil head and really they could just use Galadriel's hair in pale blond. The torso and legs printed with armour detailing Maybe if they wanted to make it like the Gandalf one, maybe he could have a holder with a bow or a tree or something like that.
-
Just a thought but wouldn't it be cool if Lego did an Armoured Thranduil Exclusive for orders in December because of the Movie's release. It's a shame we don't have that version really in this wave. A giveaway like that though would be cool wouldn't it?

Personally I like her due to her feisty attitude and badass fighting moves. Judging by the trailer. Plus she seems genuinely a good person. I very much hope we get her helmet and all in the speeder set. At first I was sceptical about rebels and its sets but now I have seen more clips and heard some people who have seen it talk about it it looks very promising indeed.

Would be nice as its quite special, the first lego Darkseid if he had a new mould with some more pose ability and not in that stupid leaning forward pose that plagues the green goblin, it works on hulk and would on grodd but darkseid is more upright and towering. That head down thing would look ridiculous on him and the legs at least could they be stuck in a more vertical manner rather than the whole one foot forward thing. -
The inquisitor seems to be wearing an unfinished helmet in the set so I guess that will become this: http://imagesource.gentlegiantltd.com/v/vspfiles/templates/gentlegiant/images/slideshow/slide_80466.jpg

The troopers in the ATDP with the similar helmets to kallus are these I believe: http://thestarwarssaga.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/SWI146_AT-DPpilot.png as they are very prominent in the show from the footage so far seen.

Just a thought! That green arrow is dressed in dark green with a compound bow. You don't suppose that one might be based off the TV show when finalised? Cause dark green leather is arrow's thing and he uses a black compound bow like hawkeye. I might be utterly wrong bu I wouldn't be surprised if that arrow will turn out to be the one from the show as a way of publicising it without making sets. -
OH YEAH! I remember that one. It got blown up about half way through the first part of the series by ventress. Odd choice to make a set out of. If I wanted anything from that CW it would be the arc trooper republic gunship complete with captain fordo.
-
I particularly like the Shadow Guards. My guess is they are going to show up in rebels at some point as the only time I've ever seen them in action is in the force unleashed videogame. They guard the way into the emperor's viewing room theres about 5 of them and they are very acrobatic and skilled. They look very cool though and will go well with the red ones. I'm confused? Which set is based on the old CW?

I think a good idea for the next wave of collectable minifigures would be classic heroes and villains. Robin Hood, The Sherriff of Nottingham, Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Sherlock Holmes, James Moriarty e.t.c. They could be fleshies for a change and be inspired by the characters as they are in popular media. Sherlock Holmes and Moriarty could be designed from the books and maybe draw references from the Granada Jeremy Brett TV series for designs. Peter Pan and Hook could draw their inspiration from both stories and the many films, Robin Hood and The Sherriff of Nottingham inspiration from the legends and books and maybe movies and Television. It would be an interesting wave and I'm sure others can suggest more iconic heroes and villains that they could make.

HUZZAH!!! I WILL CALL THIS ADVENTURE THE TIME LEGO SHOULD GIVE AQUAMAN A BEARD!!! http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/11112/111121597/3801576-5170141533-aquam.jpg The Superman hair in Yellow or the mutt hair would look good if they went in this direction!
