TLG wants your ideas & suggestions for City themes
Klaus-Dieter replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
No - we have to thank you! I personally think - and hope - that "Farm" will be one of the winners. By the way: There were only 63 forms written by us EBers ?! - I would have thought that there will be much more (I myself already wrote 11 ideas for new themes ). I regrettably forgot to mention Supermarket, Zoo and some sort of Industry. Klaus-Dieter -
Thank you very much for this information, Ashoka! 2009 seems to get a very bad year concerning OT (which is my only theme of SW I collect)! It seems as if TLG wants to kick out the OT. I understand that TLG wants to release many sets from the CW (movie this year) and FU (video game) - but refusing their OT fans is - please excuse me - very, very unfriendly! Supposably there then will be again a mega-expensive S@H Exclusive (which I can't afford) for OT fans - and that's all which we OT fans will get (like this year). If this will be real then that's just great for the 10th birthday of Lego SW! Klaus-Dieter

I totally agree with you, BlueBard! We already posted most of the ideas you mentioned yet -but that doesn't matter. Nevertheless one thing is completely new to me: The pet shop. Great idea! I really would like to see TLG releasing a set like this! Do only think about all the pets TLG could include without having to produce new molds : Parrots, monkeys, dogs, cats, hares and mice (I don't think that someone would like to buy a spider, a crocodile or a shark ). We want the amazing 4999 Vestas Wind Power Plant!

Thank you very much for that information, legomilk! The news is getting funnier and funnier from day to day - I think it's now really the time when TLG officially should inform us about which is now wrong and which is right. Klaus-Dieter -
I totally agree with you, The Rancor! There have been nearly no Endor and Hoth sets until now. And some other sets (like e. g. the Moc Eisley Cantina, Jabba's Palace, Cloud City) were designed in a very spartanic way (very, very small, nearly no interior, nearly no new minifigs). So there would be many possibilities for more exiting sets than only for rereleasing the TIEs . Hopefully the TIEs will at least some with an Imperial Engineer and a DS Trooper - otherwise (like already mentioned) I won't buy them since I already own the old version(s). Klaus-Dieter

Since there shall be a redesign of the big tower crane I think TLG will surely release it with power functions. Thank you for that infomation, BatonMedved! I already thought that this information might come from there. But back to topic: So there won't be a new hospital, will it be? Klaus-Dieter

That's simply perfect, kobe! I really  this City MOC. That's something TLG realy should do! Excellent design, very nice interior and additional stuff and nice minifigures! Very, very well done! BTW: From where did you get those bucklers for the police men? They look brilliant! Klaus-Dieter
-
That's a great review/poll, WhiteFang! I gave this set a 5: It's simply  ! The only thing which I miss are the respirators for the firemen since they already own air tanks. But otherwise this set is brilliant! I like it much more than the new one from 2007 since it's not that big and <insert that tiresome argument>. Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for that information, WhiteFang! I didn't know that. Klaus-Dieter
-
Again great poll/review, TheBrickster! I gave this set a 3: From the architecture it's perfect - but the design and the additional stuff is a bit . But I really hope that TLG will release somthing like that in the near future! Klaus-Dieter

That are awesome MOCs, Morgan19! "Catch Up!" This is my favourite one - I really  it with the nice interior, the minifigs and the funny design. It' really excellent - hopefully TLG is going to release something similar to that soon, too! Roamin' Holiday Scooters This is very nice, too, but I persoanlly don't like CC styled buildings (no backwalls, much more expensive). The Silver Lining This is brilliant, too. I really  it with all the nice accessories you included (even clothes )! South Hovel I'm not sure about a motorcycle shop being in a so old building - but I really  the architecture of this ancient house (a cafe or a wine tavern would fit perfectly I think )! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

No, it came without the box. The train is used - but in a very good condition (nearly all stickers are there ). I had to pay 90 Euros for it. Imo it's not cheap but it isn't too expensive since the 9 V motor is included, too. I had the luck to buy a very reasonably priced transformer and some good 9 V tracks, too - so that I all in all had to pay around 120 Euros for the train, the transformer and a nice track circle. And I think that that's really ok since all the new trains cost minimum 100 Euros. Klaus-Dieter

TLG wants your ideas & suggestions for City themes
Klaus-Dieter replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Since BS seems to have problems with making Word documents public, here are my wishes for new City themes/sets: Farm City Center Seaside Holidays Winter Sports Housing Area Octan Oil Company Camping Maritime Passenger Transportation Cargo Transport Legoland Renewable Energy Sources You can find them in the Ideas for new City sets topic. Because of reasons of time I regrettably wasn't able to add Mountain Holidays (climbers, ...) Zoo, Safari and Factories, too - but like I read until now there are great ideas for these themes . Klaus-Dieter -
Here are some new (and some old, too) ideas for new City themes/sets I filled into the document for TLG, too: Octan Oil Company The "Octan Oil Company" theme includes nearly everything which is part of oil production, its transport and converting. Octan Oil Rig oil rig with office, bedroom and storage room, little heliport, crane with diving bell and "tower" (where the surplus oil burns up); including little helicopter and life boat, 5 minifigs Octan Oil Harbor oil harbor with little oil refinery, big oil tanker (ship) and landing stage; including little truck for tranporting oil barrels, 5 minifigs Octan Road Tanker little road tanker with trailer; including one minifig Seaside Holidays The "Seaside" theme is a theme which includes everything which has to do with holidays and relaxation at the beach. It's similar to the great "Paradisa" theme of the nineties. Beach Hotel beach hotel (first floor: entrance, little kitchen and restaurant with terrace, second floor: two guestrooms and bathroom), little swimming pool; including convertible and 5 minifigs Seaside beach in Caribbean style with beach bar, two little change rooms, big sunshades and sunloungers; including an ice cream seller's trolley and 5 minifigs Coast Guard Surveillance Station CG surveillance station with landing stage and little office with first aid room; including little hovercraft, off-road vehicle, little "stand", surfboard, 4 minifigs City Center The "City Center" theme consists of - like the name already says - buildings and additional stuff you can find in the center of every city. Main Street (see picture of my LDD MOC) three houses (bakery with café; green grocer with kitchen and little room upstairs; post office with office); including delivery van with doors, six minifigures Hotel hotel with entrance, receipt, little restaurant, two guest rooms and a bath room; including a black limousine with doors, five minifigures Bank bank with desk, strongroom and office(s); including a security car with doors, a security officer, two bankers, a civilian and a bank robber Housing Area The "Housing Area" includes everything which is part of a good housing area: some apartment houses, a bus stop, a little kiosk and a school. Modern Twin House (see picture of my LDD MOC) modern twin house (living room, kitchen, bed room, children's room), sun terrace, big garden; including a car with doors and four minifigs Rich People's Villa villa (big living room, office, bed room, bath room), sun terrace, swimming pool, big garden with big fence and gate; including a limousine with doors, four minifigs Bus Stop bus stop with little office and benches; including a bus (six stuck wide and with doors), a bicycle and four minifigs Farm The "farm" theme is a theme which includes everything which has to do with a nice big farm. Harvester harvester with doors, turnable cutting unit; including a hayfork, some tools; one minifig Big Farm farmhouse with little garden, cot with barn; including a tractor with fork on its frontside, cows, pigs, a dog, some tools, a hayfork, agricultural equipment; four minifigs Silo silo; including a tractor with trailer, hayfork; two minifigs Winter Sports The "Winter Sports" theme consists of everything you can think about when making sports in the snowy mountains. Mountain Rescue HQ HQ (two garages, office, relaxation room, first aid room), helicopter airfield; including big landrover with doors, little landrover with doors, helicopter, equipment; 4 minifigs "Piste Plate" (sorry, I only know the german word "Pistenwalze") a "piste plate" to prepare the piste for the skiers and snowboarders; including some tools and a shovel; one minifig Ski Lift And Ski Hut ski lift (power functions), ski hut (restaurant with terrace, two guest rooms) and piste; including equipmentfor skiers and snowboarders; six minifigs Camping The "Camping" theme consists of everything you can think about which has to do with camping. Camping Ground house (washroom, kiosk and reception), "gate" with barrier, meadow with shrubs and trees; including a campmobile with doors and interior, tent, two bicycles, equipment; five minifigs Car With Caravan car with doors, caravan with doors and interior; including bicycle, equipment; two minifigs Tent At The Beach tent, nice beach landscape; including equipment, bicycle, surfboard; three minifigs Maritime Passenger Transport The "Maritime Passenger Transport" theme consists of everything which has to do with traveling around in the world with a big passenger ship - but only with making a short trip with a motor yacht, too. It perfectly goes with some new kind of Paradisa theme and with all maritime sets in general. Passenger Ship "Freedom Of The Legoland" passenger ship (guest rooms, restaurant, bridge) with swimming pool, landing stage; including two lifeboats, equipment; 8 minifigs (perhaps as S@H Exclusive) Jacht Harbor jacht harbor with little piers, garage, caf

A mall would be absolutely but only if it is non-CC styled. But for next year there is (if TLG releases something like this at all) no chance since we'll already get a new - hopefully this time more comprehensive - train theme. Yes, I read this information of a CG hovercraft, too (it was on this forum but I regrettably don't know where and who posted it - but it was in any event unofficial and only a "it-might-perhaps-be"). I really would like a CG hovercraft if it will be much smaller than the fire hovercraft (a size of vehicle which is able to transport until six minifigures would be ) and if it will come with some kind of surveillance station - that would be ! I didn't know that we'll shall see the exclusive train set first and firstly after that the regular train sets. Like already mentioned: A Transibiric Train or an Eastern- and Oriential Express would be ! Klaus-Dieter

Last year the list with numbers and names of the SW sets came out very early (I think at the beginning of July) - and the City sets list followed not very late. So Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you for the great review, copmike! This CG Boat looks really nice! It's a pity that TLG didn't include it in one of the bigger set or as a seperate little non-promo set. Klaus-Dieter
-
I surely won't buy the DS after all that trouble and for 400 Euros . But nevertheless it's not that bad if there won't many good new OT SW sets since City will surely bring us some very nice sets. Anyway I'm a bit disappointed since I hoped for almost one new set in January. A TIE is really ok since it's one of the existential vehicles of the OT (and consequently for the 10th birthday very likely) - but two TIE types and nothing other (and new) for the whole first part of the 10th year of SW ! Hopefully there will be some Endor and/or Hoth sets in summer and the Tantive 4 and Mon Calamari Cruiser playset in fall . At any rate I hope that TLG won't release an OT Exclusive which is more than 200 Euros (otherwise I won't be able to buy this like the amazing DS, too, which would be really ). Klaus-Dieter
-
You're right, darthperson, it isn't confirmed yet. Otherwise I wouldn't have written "possible" sets and there would have been already set numbers. But I hope that we get a confirmation and a list of the January 2009 sets soon - it's already the end of July ! I wanted to start a new topic since there surely would be a new topic after the January 2009 sets will have been confirmed. So I thought that you only have to add then them to this topic. And there is a difference for me between "what we expect in 2009" and that which we supposably will get - consequently a different topic makes sense. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BTW: Does that mean that we won't that a new hospital next year, BatonMedved? - That would be really a pity - but who knows, perhaps we won't get new airport sets, too . Klaus-Dieter

Again a great topic/poll, TheBrickster! I gave this set a 5: It's really a  set which fills at bit the missing of a Western train in the WW theme. (That does not mean that I wouldn't like a new Western train !) I'm very lucky that I bought it some weeks ago from ebay. There are three different waggons and a little engine - everything you need for a nice train - and the desgin is perfect, too ! Of course the minifigs don't go with the Western theme very well - but that doesn't disturb me since there are only three. IMO excellent set which should really be redesigned ! Klaus-Dieter
-
Again great topic/poll, TheBrickster! I gave this set a 3: Which is on the one hand negative is that it's really old-fashioned for today . Which is on the other hand positive is that it includes very nice and authentic details (like e. g. doors in the cars ) which is imo for that time a feat . Klaus-Dieter
-
Again topic/poll, TheBrickster! I gave this set only a 2: The petrol tank is well designed (even with these little doors) - but the "cockpit" (don't know the real name) is much too small and includes no doors. Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for that information, BatonMedved! I decided to open a new topic here to discuss about this information. Klaus-Dieter
-
Hello everybody! BatonMedved mentioned in that topic that: Many thanks to BatonMedved for this information! Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for that news, legomilk! It would be so awesome and would be a great decision of TLG if we'll be possible to get this brilliant set. And if it's between 100-150 Euros that would be expensive - but I'd buy it since I really want this set! Klaus-Dieter
