    Cafe

Hello everybody! I'm here again after 1,5 weeks in holidays. And here is my oldest MOC of which I have got a picture: Cafe This cafe contains a big dining area with tables, chairs and benchs, a bar and an ice cream counter. The kitchen contains a big cooker, a big microwave and some cargo stuff. In the background you can see a depot. I built this MOC together with my little brother in 2001. Regrettably this is the only pic I've got of this MOC. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

    City '09?

Thank you very much for this information, Dr. Brick! It would be great if TLG continues to release Impulse sets since firstly they aren't pricy, secondly they help you to get more minifigs and thirdly they add more realism to your City. To the other City sets in the "speculative list": Do you really think that there will be more City sets in 2009 than the ones we've seen until now? Because we already will get trains in the summer - so wouldn't that get a bit too many City sets?! Klaus-Dieter
  3. Great find, TheBrickster! This is an absolutely amazing MOC you found there! I really like it! All the forest stuff like all the big trees ... are absolutely awesome and create a very lovely and peaceful atmosphere. This is which TLG should more or less release in a flattered version! Klaus-Dieter
  4. Very interesting poll, I Scream Clone! I of course voted for Townsfolk since there have been enough knights factions until now but very less townsfolk stuff. Townsfolk adds more playability and more realism to the Castle theme - and it opens up the possibility to get more medieval buildings like e. g. a farm (with the new cows ), an armor shop and/or a blacksmith shop. Klaus-Dieter
  5. That's a great idea, BatonMedved! Is that MOC yours? It looks brilliant! Klaus-Dieter
  6. Thank you very much for that news, The Green Trooper! Hopefully this news is right! A Tantive 4 would be absolutely amazing! It's the really needed "antagonist" to the great minifig-scaled ISD from 2006. And with the Rebell Commander now we finally would get a commander for the Rebels who really missed in the Rebel Scout Speeder. And about the special minifigure: I think it's surely Lieutenant Pello Scrambas or a silvern 3PO. A new Imperial Officer in black suit would be awesome, too. And I think that there surely will be C-SPO and some more figs since it'll be sold for 70 Dolllars. Klaus-Dieter
  7. Thank you very much for the links to the now confirmed january 2009 list and the pics! The most of you supposably already know my attitude towards these sets - consequently it doesn't make sence to repete always everything. Only for short after having seen the pics of Vader's TIE Advanced: Don't take it personal, TLG, but this set firstly is really unnecessary - the most AFOLs supposably already own a TIE Advanced and for JFOLs it's really uninteresting since there is (in contrary to the classic set(s)) no "enemy" included to fight against it. And secondly the content of this sets is a shame - the only minifig which comes with it is Darth Vader ( ), no new minifig (e. g. an Imperial Engineer would have been a very good idea) and no additional stuff. Does TLG really mean that a lot of people will buy this set only because of it contains grey instead of blue pieces?! As for the rest of 2010 I really hope that TLG will release more (mainly until now never released) OT sets with more additional stuff and some great new minifig characters! I can't deny that these CW are very interesting, very well designed and include a lot of great new minifig characters. But TLG should really not forget their OT customers - and mainly not these which aren't aible to pay 400 € sets! Klaus-Dieter

    City '09?

Thank you all very much for that news and links! Since I was 1,5 weeks in holidays I regrettably missed everything - the most links don't work anymore and the sets list was deleted - but luckily I found nevertheless pics of the City sets on BS . So one question: Were there some other sets mentioned than the Construction and the Farm sets? I totally agree with you, hewman! I was looking forward to get a post station next year, too - - but hopefully TLG perhaps will release one in 2010 . And I hoped for a big hospital and more Impulse sets. But now to the sets: Farm - absolutely amazing! After having seen the pic of the awesome 4999 Vestas Wind Power Plant I wished we'll get some Farm sets because they would go perfectly with this wind power plant - and now we'll get them! 7636 Although it's after my fancy too big I surely will buy this harvester since it's the first farming vehicle I thought of when thinking about possible farm sets - "simply amazing! 7634 I surely will buy this tractor, too, since it's simply but lovely designed! 7635 This set is nice but the trailer is in my opinion very plump and the car is very nice diesigned but much too wide - so persumably I won't buy this set. 7637 I surely will buy this nice farm, too, since it's really needed! The barn regrettably looks very childish, the tractor is too big and it's really a pity that they didn't include a farmhouse with a farmhouse room , but it's great to see TLG included a silo, a big power mower and a stable with cows! "City Life" 8401 Great to see a big Impulse set with all things that you need to equip your Lego City with all that is necessary that you get a perfect City: traffic signs and traffic lights, civilians and additional stuff! Construction 7632 This crane is very well designed - but much too big ! So I won't buy it. 7633 This construction set contains everything a child can dream of - but since I'm AFOL I look a bit more closely at it: The big transport vehicle is nice, the house is very well designed , but - although the crane is smaller than its last version - it's again too big. Since the house regrettably supposably doesn't include any interior I won't buy this set, too. all the other construction sets They are very well designed - but much too big . So I won't buy them. Summary: Next year's City sets are going to be really good! The Construction sets are all very well designed - but regrettably much too big . The Farm sets are all amazing - of course some elements are too big and some are a bit childish - but it's great to see TLG releasing a Farm theme! I'm really looking forward to buy - except from the horse van - all these sets! The additional City set is brilliant in order to get some additional stuff to add more realism to your City! I surely will buy minimum one set. A big compliment to TLG that they are going to release these great farm sets and this addtional City stuff set! That's really the right direction they are going towards to get more civilian sets and to add more realism to our towns! Klaus-Dieter
  9. Since I was 1,5 week in holidays I regrettably missed this list . So the amazing 4999 Vestas Wind Power Plant set was on that list and will be for sale in 2009? - That would be totally awesome! Klaus-Dieter
  10. I totally agree with you, AwesomeStar! A milk van would be a perfect addition to next year's awesome Farm theme! BTW: Although it's now very late: Welcome to Eurobricks, AwesomeStar! Klaus-Dieter
  11. That's a great idea, AwesomeStar! I really would like to see a milk man, too. As addition to the new awesome Farm theme next year I could well imagine TLG releasing a milk van in 2010. Klaus-Dieter
  12. Very interesting poll, Dovchenko! I voted for Yes because I personally think that the Indians sets would have sold better if TLG released them in the same year with some of the soldiers sets. The reason why I think this: Mainly JFOLs would surely have liked to see someone to fight against the soldiers. But since there were already the bandits in the Fort Legoredo set the Indians lost a bit their function. But I think even that TLG didn't want to release Indians and soldiers in the same set or in the same year since - like it was already discussed sveral times - they don't want to aid racism and war (which is in my opinion the right decision - but for selling WW sets perhaps not that good because mainly JFOLs like to fight soldiers against Indians). I  the Indians sets very much and really do not understand why they didn't sell like expected - but supposably it's the reason above which is responsible for that since the sets themselves were brilliant designed, included many awesome minifigs and great details and accessories and - which is seemingly the most aspect for the popularity at JFOLs - many action elements (do only think about the traps). This theme (like the Western theme itself) included sets of all sizes and price classes - the best way (and in my eyes very right and fair direction) of TLG to make sets of this theme available for people of every "size of their wallet". But surely there were some other reasons, too, which lead to the not so good sale of these sets: E. g. there were missing some really existential parts - like e. g. buffalos. If the Westen theme hopefully sees a comeback soon, I hope that we're getting some Indians (sets), too! Klaus-Dieter
  13. Thank you very much for that information and for the links, paksu! So instructions are back! Since I had only a very short time to look at the instructions the last time I looked at them this time more closer and I must say it's more than excellent (mainly with this lovely designed interior of this little nice cottage )! Hopefully we will then get this amazing set soon, too! Thanks, Dr. Brick! So since an ambassador writes this and gives as example the Maersk Sealine Container Ship which was released some years ago in late spring: Do you think it's possible that TLG will release the awesome 4999 Vestas Wind Power Plant in next year's late spring? Klaus-Dieter
  14. Again a great review, WhiteFang! I voted for Average: The minifig and the accessoríes are excellent - but the raft itself is very poor. Klaus-Dieter
  15. Thank you very much for your nice comments, BlueBard and Eilif! It's funny to read that you like the Spanish style of the villa since I originally didn't want to add this "tower" on the top of the house. But then I thought it would surely be better to add something special to the house since it was for a competition (and with "only a normal" outlook I thought that I wouldn't have a chance to get a price from the beginning on). Klaus-Dieter
  16. Thank you very much for that information, darthperson! Since I'm not familiar with IJ: Will this Shang Hai Chase be a set which possibly could include some Chinese downtown houses (e. g. a Chinese restaurant ) with some interior? Or does someone have pics of the scene in the movie? Because if there would be some nice buildings (with interior and additional stuff) I perhaps would buy this set although I don't collect IJ. But it perhaps could fit very well with my Lego City - a little Chinese street would be very nice, don't you think?! (Of course then the characters and the fleesh style of the minifigs don't really fit in - but I thought about a solution: Why shouldn't there be a TV team in my Lego City which makes an IJ movie. ) Klaus-Dieter
  17. Except for some formal mistakes and the length of the letter I must say that I do agree in the most points Mattieshoe is writing out. I don't have much problems with the new colors and stickers in sets (as long as they aren't on the minifigs ) - but there are points where I really agree with Mattieshoe: Too much licensed themes take away the fun and playability: Do only look at the Indiana Jones sets: Of course they are very well designed - I don't doubt that. But a new Adventure or Western theme would have been much better! Brnging back old molds: I agree in this point, too: There have been a lot of great parts/bricks (like e. g. the motorcycles Mattieshoe mentions) which I really miss because they looked much more lovely than today's parts/bricks. The "choose of the right sets": I think that TLG is too worried about which sets to make that sell very well . An example for the City theme: Of course fire and police stations are the top sellers. But - like you can see with e. g. the harbor theme - kids like civilian (meaning not fire, hospital and police) sets very much, too. At this point you can see that the more classic sets and themes were - and still are - surely as liked as new themes and sets. Klaus-Dieter
  18. Thank you very much for your nice comments, Captain green hair and Calvin! I totally agree with you, Captain green hair! I would like to build houses in one colour, too, but regrettably I haven't got enough bricks of one colour - and at the moment I preferably spend my money on sets and additional stuff (like minifigs and accessories for them) than buying bricks. Nice to hear that you like the swimming pool and the garage! I thought that a big and rich house like this one surely would include a swimming pool - so I added it to the house. BTW: The "patent" of the garage door was invented by my little brother - and I must say that this "patent" is really cool. Klaus-Dieter
  19. I totally agree with you, TheBrickster! That's exactly what I wanted to say. After having taken a closer look on the pic I decided to 100 percently not buy this set: On the one hand it is great to see TLG being interested in the wishes of their customers to release more civilian stuff and more fan-built sets. Civilian sets raise the playability and the authenticity of the whole City theme. So it's very welcome to see cililian sets appearing. On the other hand TLG should in this case look a bit more after the quality of a fan-based set before releasing it since the Customers Cars are really looking "too custom". The Customers Cars set is generally a great idea - but the result is : The cars are way too big, the garage seems to include nothing and there is nearly no nice additional stuff - it is only reduced to the necessary . And that's really a pity because the potential for a set idea like this one is much higher. But in this design you can get the impression to have a cheap playset for very little children which you can buy in every department store (some cars and a garage - do you know these sets?) and which aren't from Lego but really simple and cheap (meaning cheap quality, low playability and low realism, too). And I think that this is (hopefully) not TLG's aim! Although I really don't like these two Factory Space sets I must say that they were much better designed (and with a much more "official character") than this set. I personally would much more have prefered to see TLG releasing the 4999 Vestas Wind Power Plant than this simple set! Klaus-Dieter
  20. Hello everybody! After having shown three of my LDD MOCs Modern Twin House (I would be very happy to get more comments about how you like(d) it, please ), Main Street and Side Street I decided to show you now one of my several "real" (meaning not-with-LDD-built) MOCs. Regrettably I didn't take pictures of all my MOCs which I built before seven years or older . So here's one of my MOCs: Competition House I designed this house about two years ago for a German Lego competition (but regrettably didn't win anything ). As addition to the house there is a swimming-pool with a shower, a sun terrace and a little flower garden with a fountain: The house consists of: Downstairs is a garage, entrance, toilet, kitchen with dinette, stairs to upstairs and living room: Upstairs is a bathroom, sleeping room, two children's rooms and a balcony: More pictures can be found in my BS gallery (when public). Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter
  21. Metalandi already posted a review of this set here. Klaus-Dieter
  22. This is a great review of a great set, Hairy Ruben! I voted for Outstanding since the only thing you can say about this train set is that it is outstanding. It has been the best passenger train in all the time from Lego's beginning on until now. I bought the rereleased version of it in 2003 - and I really, really do not regret it! Klaus-Dieter
  23. Again a great review, TheBrickster! I voted for: Above average set: The set is very, very nice and includes a lot of nice details and accessory . Below average theme: This RESQ theme included some really nice little sets (like e. g. this one) - but the bigger sets were . BTW: As we've seen the great CG theme this year I hope that TLG will release some sort of mountain rescue (at the best with snowy/winter landscape) in the near future which could contain some little nice sets like this one above, too. Klaus-Dieter
  24. That's a great review of a great set, Hinckley! I voted for Outstanding : This set is simply amazing! I regrettably don't own this set since it's very hard to find on Ebay and/or the stickers are missing. But nevertheless I hope that I one day will be able to get this awesome set - or even better - see TLG releasing a new City villa in a style similar to that brilliant set . Klaus-Dieter
  25. So the information of the TIE Bomber and the TIE Fighter (as written on Jedinews) is false, isn't it? Klaus-Dieter
