Thank you very much for your comment, Athos! I'm not for printed/custom torsos, too. But these torsos were are excellent designed - so I thought: Why not using them ?! I thought about more face differences, too. But I personally like the classic faces very much. And when you give nearly everybody the same face it isn't that bad I think. I see the problem with if you want to give every minfig a different face - how to do that? And when you give many minfigs heads with non-classic faces it looks mostly . The classic faces are in this regard better because they are nearly neutral and don't show specific facial features. And for minfigs which aren't the main characters I think it's not a very bad choice. Klaus-Dieter

Functioning Oil Derrick (Possible Spoilers)
Klaus-Dieter replied to SirNadroj's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That's an awesome MOC, Sir Nadroj! (Unluckily I firstly noticed it now (after a hint of Quarryman) .) I really  it! This oil derrick is a very nice idea turned into an amazing MOC ! I really like the style how you built it and that there is some additional stuff like e. g. this barrack there, too. This would be a very well cornerstone for an official Lego Western set ! Very, very well done! EDIT: And the movie is of course excellent, too! BTW: Perhaps you want to look in on Ideas for new sets (Wild West only) (where I took your idea for a new set proposal ), on We want Wild West! and on all the other nice Western oriented topics?! Klaus-Dieter -
That's not right. But I only browse the City, History&Adventures, Star Wars, News&General Discussions and the Embassy subforums - in the other subforums I'm mostly not interested. I don't understand why SirNadroj didn't post it in the History&Adventurs subforum since it's a Western MOC. But thank you very much for your hint! Klaus-Dieter

I've got a new idea: What about a smugglers' boat?! Smugglers' Motor Boat a smugglers' motor boat similar to 6679 but a bit bigger and with a shed to store the smugglers' wares including a box with guns, a box with gold nuggets, a handy and some weapons minifigs: two smugglers That would enhance the whole Harbor theme, don't you think? Other ideas, comments, ...? Klaus-Dieter

I browsed throught the web and found that: Oil derrick Isn't that amazing?! If TLG would release a set like this - that would be absolutely  ! Of course it wouldn't be as big and detailed as this one and it would be necseeary to include some action elements (for better playability ). But with some explosion mechanism it would be surely a great set. Perhaps like this: Oil Derrick an oil derrick with a little barrack (with a table with two chairs and a big box) includes a mechanism that the oil derrick collapses including some barrels, some tools, a simple carriage (to carry the barrels), four gold pieces, a map, a brown horse for the carriage, a white horse and some weapons minifigs: oil company's boss, two workers, coachman and two bandits What do you think? Hello everybody! Here's my seventh part of my "Wild West minifig show": Simple Town People These are four "simple" Western town people: a shopman, a saloon keeper, a lumberjack and a cowboy. The two printed torsos (of the lumberjack and the saloon keeper) were designed by tyger and Apache. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

Nice work, Majek! I really like the allusions to Star Wars - very funny ! And of course very well designed ! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much, Adam - and welcome to EB! Klaus-Dieter

Corner Store, a new cafe-corner compatible building
Klaus-Dieter replied to Ralph_S's topic in LEGO Town
That's another awesome MOC in the CC style, Ralph S! I really  it - it's even better than your last one . The interior is so lovely designed ! It seems as if you're getting a real CC styled house designer - TLG should engage you ! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter -
I totally agree with you, Led ZePPelin! It's incontestable a  set but the price is really  ! I always thought that Lego's thought is to release sets which (nearly) everybody is aible to buy. But with this one . Hopefully TLG won't release more sets in the price class like this one - otherwise I'll have to stop collecting Lego (Star Wars) which would be really . I think I'll wait for information and pics on the sets of the first half of next year - and then I probably will not buy the DS (nevertheless) . Why only did TLG include those "old" minifigs of Han, C-3PO, R2, Chewie, IG-88 and Luke (two minifigs). Not that I don't like them - they are really nice - but including these minfigs rises the price. I'd have prefered to get the DS with less rooms and less minfigs - but for maximum 250 Euros (which wouldn't be cheap nevertheless)! Klaus-Dieter

That is an amazing Castle MOC, ZCerberus! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very, very much to all of you who gave us the pics and the information! This DS is simply amazing, awesome, brilliant!!! DS Troopers!!!! But the price of 400 US-Dollar (will be 400 Euros, too, won't it?!) is magnificent, too ! I think I won't buy it . Reason one: If I have got luck I'll be aible to do holiday work (250 Euros) plus if I save all the money the next months (50 Euros) it'll be 300 Euros - so 100 Euros more ! It's time TLg releasing a City bank so I can do a bank robbery to buy all the sets I want ! Reason two: If I save all my money I (perhaps) get for my birthday (about 100 Euros - hopefully) I'd be able to pay it. But then I wouldn't have any more money to buy some of next year's sets. And - since TLG really rocks at the moment what concerns the themes City and SW - there surely will be great sets next year, too. And hopefully a Tantive 4 in minifig scale, too, which already alone would surely cost 100-150 Euros. And I'm really looking forward to (hopefully) see a post office, a bank and some Factory Western sets. And there surely will be a great train, too. And ... and ... On the other hand the DS is so amazing that it surely would be a shame to not get it . I don't know what to do. Any offers ? Perhaps somebody who would like to give me 400 Euros as a present ? Klaus-Dieter

That would be a great idea, Steve! I haven't thought about that yet. The only problem I see are the hats. Which ones should I use? And apart from that: Do you mean that they go with the other Western minifigs ?! By the way: Do you plan to deign some "custom" WW minifigs, too ? Klaus-Dieter

Which new animal would you prefer
Klaus-Dieter replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
You're right, Steve! It's very sure that - when Western would only be released in the Factory theme - the chance for a new animal mold is very low. But if Western sells good TLG perhaps will release it as a complete theme - and then there'll be the possibility for a new animal mold. You can say that again! That's a great idea, too, Dwarvenlord! The only problem with this animnal would be that it wouldn't be aible to be used in many sets because: Who wants to buy many coyotes and what does this person want to do with them? Buffalos and cows are in contrast animals which - in the time of the WW - were there in large numbers. But of course you're right since too many grizzlys wouldn't make sense, too. I didn't think about that and about the idea of coyotes - very nice . BTW: For all of you who would like to see a new Western theme and haven't noticed the topic yet - please reply here . Thank you very much! Klaus-Dieter -
Which new animal would you prefer
Klaus-Dieter replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thank you very much for your many votes and for your comments! I totally agree with you, commanderbly42! I voted for Buffalo , too, since it would be - apart from horses - the typical animal for a Western theme. What's - after horses - the first animal which comes in your mind when you think about WW? - Of course BUFFALO, I'd say! Nevertheless I surely would like to see cows, grizzlys, pigs, ..., too. But especially for the WW theme I'd prefer buffalos. Very nice to see a female Lego fan here, too ! Welcome! Klaus-Dieter -
Which "bird species" could be introduced to the Pirate Theme
Klaus-Dieter replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Although I as likely as not wouldn't buy new Pirate sets (not because I'm not interested in them or not because I don't like them - but because I haven't got enough place and not enough money) I'd really like to see some toucans would be great since they are so wonderful birds with great colors! Klaus-Dieter -
Cutlass to foreshadow a return of the Pirate Theme?
Klaus-Dieter replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Pirates
Interesting poll, Sinner! I voted for YES because I bet that there'll be a new Pirate theme next year. I don't think that the sabers are the only sign: They could be used for Western, Adventures and fantasy themes, too . The reason for that: Legomilk told us that there will be two new themes in 2009. One of them surely will be some Space theme - and the other surely will be Pirates since we already got a -theme (Agents) this year. And Western will - if any - but hopefully - be "only" Factory and no new theme. So: What's nearer than Pirates (since it wasn't done for about ten years and you'd really like a comeback)?! Klaus-Dieterh -
Excuse me - I didn't know that! But nevertheless I already wrote that it is a great MOC, TheBrickster ! Klaus-Dieter

Hello everybody! It's time for another poll! I thought it would be interesting to know which new animal is the prefered one here at us EBers if TLG brings back the Western theme. So please vote! Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter
-
Although this doesn't fit 100 percently with the WW theme it's a great MOC, TheBrickster! I really like the gloomy atmosphere, this strange installation and that werwolf minifig and the grey dog . And the story behind it is - like always - , too! That would be a set if TLG releases something like that! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you for your nice comment, TheBrickster! I wanted actually to do this . But with LDD you can't design a "slanted" roof - or you have to use the "normal" roof bricks but they surely wouldn't look very well in the combination with WW buildings . And the hinges can regrettbly only be turned in 90 degree (and not 25-45 degree how it would be necessary for these WW buildings). I thought that that would make the set more attractive - and would even be something new (and there are no shrubs available in Lego.Factory ). Klaus-Dieter

Thanks! It'll be some citizens - but this time no really rich people . Klaus-Dieter
-
I voted of course for the Mon Calamari Cruiser . Hopefully it'll be the whole ship and not only a contorl room - otherwise I'd prefer the Slave 1 since I only own the old version of it (and this version is really very simple and small ). But I highly doubt that it'll be the whole ship since there has to be the Tantive 4 next year (I bet, hope and think since it'll be the 10th anniversary of Lego SW and the Tantive 4 is as important as the ISD). Klaus-Dieter

I totally respect you're opinion, Steve. This topic is there to say what's good - but even what's bad . We've got here freedom of opinion on EB - but don't think that I'll write one single positive word to your next creation after what you wrote here! Now earnest: The combination of the white arms with the white hands isn't perfect, I agree. But I wanted to simulate with the white hands that this person wears white gloves (which are a symbol for rich perople in that time, aren't they?). With the other complaints I can't agree because I personally like that style - but ok . To the town full of WW minifigs : I planed to show you some pics of my WW town with all the minifigs I presented and will still present you. But for that you've to wait some time because firstly I want to show you all minifigs first, secondly because I'm yet waiting for the Classic Train I bought at ebay (and which I'll add to my WW town of course) and thirdly because I haven't taken pics of my WW town yet. (I ordered the nice Gold Mine, too, but it is totally full of dust - I hope I'll be aible to get that away with some water and a little brush!) To the bottles: They're not my invention. I "stole" them from Brick Miner who included them in this set. Isn't that a very cool idea?! Thanks! I used the torso of the Western bandit, gave him an Adventures head and a top hat - and I think he isn't too bad, too. You don't have to be sorry for your designed minifigs being not WW because firstly they look great and secondly you can try to make some Western minifigs, too . Klaus-Dieter
