Rumored and Confirmed lines for '09
Klaus-Dieter replied to Pencoin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think we shouldn't pick on Pencoin all the time. He only wanted to make a list with all themes for 2009 - and I think that's very nice in order to have an overlook. If Elves and Pirates are already confirmed by TLG or not isn't that important since after all these hints, pictures, etc. it's nearly like a confirmation. So I'd say: Let's better talk about something else than always coming back with this discussion if it is officiallly confirmed or not . In any case I personally am convinced that there will be Pirates and Elves. Klaus-Dieter -
I now found pics, too. That's absolutely  ! After 10188 Town Plan this is the best City set ever! I really like the neat landscape with the little hill (there are a bench and some flowers on it, too ) and this brilliant cottage :oh: ! Great idea with that power function that the wind mill turns and then enable the lights of the cottage ! Concerning the City theme I must say: In the last time TLG comes up with one great surprise after the other. Does anyone know where and when it'll be available (this year I think - otherwise there wouldn't be already pics, would they?) and how much it'll cost (I think about 70 Euros, what do you think?)? I only hope that it'll be available in Germany, too, otherwise I would be really if I am not able to get it since it is a must for every City and environment fan! Klaus-Dieter

That sounds amazing! A wind power plant as a Lego set is absolutely awesome and helps the Lego City to get environmental energy. Regrettably I missed the pics. When browsing through BS I didn't find them, too . Can someone please post a link or sent me the link/picture via PM ? Thanks. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for your nice comment, whitefang! No, I won't buy it since I'll save all my money on either the CG Platform or the CG Petrol Boat & Tower and on next year's SW and City sets (since their surely will be some great City sets (trains and hopefully a post office) and some great SW sets (hopefully some Endor and Hoth sets). But perhaps somebody else wants to buy it. I'd be very interested how it would look like in realitiy if you would upgrade the style of the delivery van and add some stickers to the set. I didn't think much about those three yellow seats. I only thought that in every decent sity there are seats where the citizens can relax a bit during shopping. But of course it would be a neat idea to use it as a bus station . Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for that link, darkrebellion! So it seems that we supposably regrettably won't get a Mon Calamari Cruiser as a whole ship. Klaus-Dieter

Again thank you very, very much for your nice comments! I totally agree with you, Eilif! There really have to be more classic buildings like shops, apartment houses, ... and all that stuff TLG hasn't released now for about 15 years but which is existential for a - not only Lego - city. Thank you very much, Holodoc! I know that this car (it should be a delivery van for the green grocer) is very amateurish built. But that's not my fault. If LDD would offer more bricks then I would have had the possibility to design the car in one color - and that would of course look much better . I totaloly agree with you, Lt. Col. Thok.! I think that if this or something similar to that would be an official set (of course a bit adapted - mainly the car) then I surely would by it for 92,29 Euros (and even for 149,99 Euros, too - although that would seem to be a bit overpriced to me ). I totally agree with kilegrant. Some more minfigs would make the set more lively. Despite from that it's a very nice MOC - and very funny, too, with the SW minifigs and stuff and all these treasures. Well done! Klaus-Dieter
-
That's a great MOC, Sandy! Despite from that fantasy stuff which I don't like it's really nice! I mainly those medieval buildings with their nice interior . And nice to see some old, classic Castle minifigs ! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

I have a question according to mainly the City sets: Why does TLG not include some women and kids into the "normal" (meaning: not exclusive) City sets? I mean: Always only men is totally boring. Of course there are some sets where female and childish characters make no sense (e. g. in the cargo harbor set). But when there are always no women and kids in some time the population of Lego City will consists of only old and ill people and they then will die. ( ) There would be so much possibilities to include women and kids into some of the "normal" sets, too: What about a female police officer? A CG woman? A kid traveling in the passenger train? etc. And the possibilities of fitting molds are there, too: About four female hair pieces (kids can use the female and male hair pieces, too), a female face (in the amazing Town Plan set), short pants for the kids (form the dwarves) and as faces for kids the classic face could be used. Consequently I really don't understand why TLG doesn't include women and kids in some of the "normal" City sets. Is TLG family hostile? - I don't think so. Did the set designers make bad experiences with their women and kids? - I don't hope so. So what's the point?! Women and kids would bring much more live and playability into the City theme - and it would perhaps help to get girls introduced in a non-Belville theme, too! I would be very pleased about an answer. Greetings Klaus-Dieter

Since there was this poll of TLG sent to their customers if they want Western, animals or robots as a new Factory theme and since copmike was so nice to transfer our wish to get new WW sets to TLG I'm oiptimistic and I think that there will be some new WW sets in the future. But since Pirates will come out next year I think we won't have to expect some new WW sets before 2010. What do you think? Klaus-Dieter

That's a great idea, Widdi! A dolphinarium would be ! Some zoo set in general would be awesome! I really don't understand why TLG doesn't release farm, zoo and circus sets in the City theme since it seems that the Playmobil sets which are based on these themes sell very well ?! By the way: It would be a good idea to write this idea in the document of TLG and sent it to copmike. (More information can be found on the frontpage.) Klaus-Dieter

Thank you all very, very much for your nice comments! Thank you very much, TheBrickster! By the way: This isn't my first City MOC I created with LDD - I designed one some weeks ago you can find here). It's nice that you like the colors. When I desgined this MOC I thought a bit of the official Main Street (which re-designed version from some years ago I luckily own because it is really ) and the amazing 10184 Town Plan ( ) and I thought that a big set with more than only one buildings looks much better if the buildings are in different colors. Nice to read that you like that, too. I thought that a bit variety in design and interior would make the MOC much more interesting and nice looking. It's nice that you like the design, too. Which building do you mean should be enlarged? I thought about giving the buildings a bit more room towards backwards. But this doesn't work very well with the plates available in LDD - and (if you think about playability) a very deep room isn't good for playability . And I wanted to design a MOC in design similar to an official set - and the official buildings are commonly 6 stuck deep . I am really looking forward to see that WW MOC set! Will it be something similar to the official set 365 ? - That would be surely awesome! Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for your nice comment, Dovchenko! In the beginning of my "Wild West minifig show" I mentioned that this "show" will be a combination of official and non-official sets . But of course you're right: For a Moc it wouldn't be that good . Klaus-Dieter

That's a great WW vignette, Majek! I really it! There are many nice minifigs included and the scenery is excellent. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for that information, darkrebellion! I somehow missed this chat. Have you a link to it? It's already clear that a Mon Calamari Cruiser has to be the whole ship since (nearly) all of us want it to be the whole ship! Klaus-Dieter

TLG wants your ideas & suggestions for City themes
Klaus-Dieter replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Very, very good ideas! I will sent in the most of my ideas at the end of next week. (Regrettably very much work at the weekend and then til Thursday evening .) The first two themes I thought about were: -Seaside Holidays (read SetWishes) -Octan Oil Company (read SetWishes) If TLG releases an auto factors theme like you describe it - that would be totally ! Klaus-Dieter -
Hello everybody! This late afternoon and evening I designed a new City Moc with LDD: Main Street pieces: 627 price: 92,29 Euros The Main Street is here again! This time it comes with a post office, a green grocer and a bakery. There are a lot of details like e. g. a kitchen, an office and a delivery van. Check it out! Comes with six minifigures and a lot of nice additional stuff. You can see more pics at my Brickshelf gallery (when public). I personally think that the price is ok - since there a three houses with each minimum two floors, six minifigures, a little van and a lot of nice other stuff. I really would like to see TLG releasing something like that since we really need a post office and some shops. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for your nice comment, Athos! To the doctor: I like him very much - and that with the pith helmet: I watched a Karl May movie (I think it was "The Oil Prince" - a brilliant movie ) and there one character wears a pith helmet, too . To the ranger: A rucksack is really a good idea! I'll change the minifig and show the pics as soon as done - probably with all minifigs (officials and customs) and all WW sets I own. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for your nice comments, TheBrickster and Donut! First of all: I really like the classic faces - they are my favourite ones among all faces TLG has ever produced. I chose them because I wanted to design these minifigs as some "normal" young cowboys. Consequently I wanted only to give them the old classis faces since there shouldn't be something very specific with their faces. (By the way: The minifig on the right side doesn't have this classic face. He wears a face from the soldiers with grey beart. ) That's a good idea. Perhaps I'll try in my emester break and then show it to you. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this information, metalandi! It's ununchallenged a great set! Perhaps I'll buy it since I surely won't buy the 10188 DS (that's the money not worth) - but nevertheless I'll firstly wait for news of next year's City and SW OT sets - and then I'll decide. BTW: Did you notice that the platform is only marked with the note "new" but not "exclusive" or "hard to find". Does this mean that it'll be available in "normal" toyshops, too (I thought it is only an airline promo) or not? (That would be much better in order to have not to pay for shipping. ) Thank you for the picture, Dr. Brick! Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for your nice comment, MoWo! I chose the red pants because I wanted to define this minifig in contrast to the official bandit minifigure. Do you think that a black pant would look better? By the way: Welcome to Eurobricks, MoWo! Nice to see that we're getting many new members who are interested in Western! Klaus-Dieter

Yes, darthperson8, a farm, a zoo and a school would be amazing, too! And a bank is an absolute must-have anyway!!! For April 2009: Cargo Center, Post Office and a Bank - how would that be!!! And then for 2010: Farm sets !!! Let's hope! Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you for that information, Shoc! That's right. I lookes it up and there are some few City minifigs which have printed torso backs (like e. g. the orange train workers). That'S a very interesting idea, welcomestranger! I haven't thought of this yet. But it's right: This minifigure looks more like a farmer than like a worker. How a farm theme would be! Klaus-Dieter

Hello everybody! Here is my tenth and the before last part of my "Wild West minifig show": Doctor And Ranger These are a doctor with his cart and a ranger who shephers him through the Wild West. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter
