Yes, there are: You can find them here or when searching for "4999" on BS. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for that information, Copmike! I totally agree with you, Dr. Brick! So there is luckily hope! When do you think that TLG will - if they do - release this set next year? Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for that information, Dennimator! I really, really hope that TLG will release this set for the public, too, since it's totally awesome. It's - after the amazing 10188 Town Plan - the best (City) set which TLG has ever released. And - like already mentioned before - TLG and Vestas would be crazy if they don't put it into mass production since they could make much money of it. When Vestas gives their members this set as a gift Vestas and Lego themselves have no credit when these members then sell this brilliant set for utopian prices at ebay since Vestas and Lego don't get this money. But if they sell it for the public then they'll have the possibility to make a lot of money. Klaus-Dieter

Again a great review, TheBrickster! I voted for Outstanding since this set is - well - outstanding. I really the whole theme. Like Arctic it was a great theme with nice locations, perfectly designed vehicles, nice minifigs, a lot of accessory and no fantasy stuff. Regrettably I only own one very little set. Klaus-Dieter

That's a very nice MOC, Erdbeereis1! I especially like these penguins - you designed them really perfectly and they look so . Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

So from what I read in the last comments I reason that the 5373 Knight Catapult set was never available, is not available and won't be available, am I right? If so this is really a pity since - like you already mentioned, ptdapen - this set would include another different knight and some different weapons. In general I have the impression that TLG abandons the great Impulse sets (which you can see at the already confirmed Impulse sets for the first half of 2009 - no Castle Impulse set and only one City Impulse set). Klaus-Dieter

I talk about this set: Sorry. I didn't notice that on my screen. But I already took now away one pic. Klaus-Dieter

I really don't understand why some of you complain about the price of the ship and the fortress. To the fortress: Ok, there are really not many big buildings ( ), that's right. But there are 6 minifigs included, a boat and some vey nice additional stuff. So 50 Euros is in my eyes surely not too less - but even not to much money I'd say. To the pirate ship: This ship is absolutely awesome and so lovely built, it includes seven minifigs, a boat, a ( ) shark and a lot of nice accessory. I know that when the Black Seas Barracuda was re-released some years ago it was sold for 100 Euros (I know that because I bought it ). So you really can't complain about 80 Euros since this is a fair price for that what you get. Klaus-Dieter

I have got a question: Does someone know if the set 5373 Knight & Catapult will be sold as a regular Impulse set - or is it only a promo set? Klaus-Dieter

That's a great Castle MOC, Tobiasz! I really it! I really like the nice archtecture, the lovely minifigs and all these lovely details. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you, TheBrickster! I think that a spy shop would be difficult since there had to be a lot of new molds for accessories. But the magic shop and the antique gift shop are brilliant ideas! Since you asked so friendly: Let's see. I've got still three weeks semester break (of course I've got to do a lot for university - two assignments - but there has to be some time for free, too ). So I don't want to make any pledges - but let's see (there are now even some new bricks available at factory). Klaus-Dieter

I would so much believe you, Grievous. And I must say that I believe in whung's list, too. But yesterday I served through ebay and there a seller of this awesome set wrote that it will never be sold to public (source as long as this auction is taking place). So . But it might of course even be that the seller lies or he doesn't know about a public release. Klaus-Dieter
-
That LDD MOC looks really nice, Steff! I think TLG will release something similar to that in the Endor set - only a bit bigger because there is some place on the left and the right side next to the door (the bunker is not only as wide as the door). Klaus-Dieter

That's a very interesting and informing article, TheBrickster! I voted for Outstanding since this article does 1. include very good information which is 2. really good compacted, 3. there are some very apposite pictures and 4. there are some very good (rhetorical) questions and "all the other stuff which belongs to a great appealing article" (you surely know what I mean ). (Perhaps you could have mentioned the brilliant 10184 Town Plan and this engine shed some years ago since they inlcude some - even if not medieval - but historic buildings, too. But that's not fatal.) And it gives a lot of material for argueing and complaining . And since I'm studiing German language and hitstory it's for me of course something very interesting (which you may see on my long comment, too - have a nice time with reading it ). I totally agree with you, TheBrickster! Although I regrettably don't own one single of these awesome sets I must say that this combination was great since in reality it's like that that there are not only very new and modern houses in cities . And with always only having the same architecture of houses the City theme gets somehow sometimes boring - or at least it's not very diversified . You already know my attitude towards all the CC styled buildings. I really like their architecture - it's extremely detailed and great. But it's for me a seperate theme which has nothing to do with the regular City theme. It's even not their for kids to play with these sets - but they are there for collecting for AFOLs which have a lot of money (which you can notice when you look at the lack of some for the City theme existential elements (like e. g. open back walls) and at the high price). I'm not so sure about this point. I mean: Ok, their was some time about 2000 - the dark ages of City - where the sets very really only made for JFOLs. So TLG concentrated on big parts and playability. But after having noticed that all these CC styled buildings sold well, TLG went - at least partly, but nevertheless - in a more classic direction which you can see at this year's awesome 10184 Town Plan . this set only includes historical buildings - not very old, but nevertheless about minimum a half century . And there was this nice engine shed some years ago which was built in historical style, too. So a return to one or some more historical buildings might in my opinion well be. Surely these sets will - at least now - stay Exclusives. The point is that the possibilities for historical buildings in the City theme are limited: Sicne this theme mainly should appear to JFOLs it has to be designed in that way that the building time isn't too long and the way how to put it together not too difficult. If there are many little parts (which are necessary for a good archtiecture of an old building) kids might perhaps get restive and loose the fun at putting the set together. And since this theme mainly appears to kids it has even in the architecture appeal to kids. and the "kids of today" live in a world where more and more old buildings disappear and new functional buildings are built. Consequently TLG has to put their main focus on these buildings because otherwise kids perhaps might not identify a Lego building as in reality existent. This is my explanation why TLG is releasing the City sets in that style which you mostly can see. When you only talk about historical buildings in the context of medieval/castle buildings: It's allowedly very difficult to find good ideas to combine medieval buildings with City elements of our current towns. You can see that when looking at Lego's past. There TLG really wnated to release such sets - but there were only few. Why? - Because linking the past with the present in the City theme is really difficult. What shall they include? For JFOLs museums and books shops are (regrettably) boring - and today much, much more than before 10 or 20 years. In my opinion the best thing to connect these themes in order to release historical City set would be - like it was done in one of the sets in the past, too - to design a set with a little castle, a medieval procesion and a medieval building with a regular shop in it (an old bakery or an old restaurant would imo be great and make much sense). It then should be obvious that this set combines two totally different times in history by e. g. including some knights and a damsel of the castle for the procession - and on the other side a current baker/restaurant keeper and some viewers. And/Or putting a modern tractor/car in this set on which you can put a little castle tower on which then the damsel of the castle may stand and wave to the viewers. But - to be honest - that's regrettably the only promising set idea I can think of. To come to an end, here my summary: I really the combination of medieval buildings with current buildings in some - regrettably only very few - City sets very long ago. And I in general I really historical (not only medieval, but of course medieval, too) buildings in the City theme, too. In my opinion all the Cafe Corner styled buildings are no alternative to those buildings because firstly they don't contain some existential elements of the City theme (like e. g. open back walls) and secondly they are - even as a result of that - too expensive. TLG did a very good job in the nearer past with releasing more different themed City sets (meaning not always only fire, construction and police sets). Some historical buildings appeared now and then, too, like e. g. the 10188 Town Plan or the engine shed some years ago. I personally think that it might well be that we'll see some more historical buildings in the City theme, too. But because of several reasons I mentioned above (main reason: What do JFOLs like?) I fear that some sort of "City-with-Castle-combined" City set regrettably isn't very realistic to await - and the other historical buildings supposably stay Exclusives, too. On the other hand you can never know what tLG is planing! Only think about this year's excellent Town Plan - I'd say that nobody would have awaited it in his/her dreams that a set like this will be released by TLG. Klaus-Dieter

That's not totally correct since the Endor Rebel Troopers would need this special helmet - so there has to be a new mold nevertheless. But of course you'Re right: All the other stuff is only a question of printing. I once more thought about this Endor set and came to the result that I don't think that it'll be in size and price as big as the Hoth set. Reasons are: Firstly TLG surely wrote our little disppointments about that the Hoth set was so little. So it wouldn't be very wise to make again a set in price and size similar to that. That does imo not mean that the bunler will include much more details and rooms as the Hoth Rebel Base. TLG will surely make a big door, then a floor (similar ot the one in the detenation block in the awesome 10188 DS) on the one side and on the other side some sort of control desk with screen. That'll it because 1. it would get too much expensie to make a really big bunker and 2. because there's - aside from the two elements I mentioned - not much more shown ini episode 6. And what should TLG consequently then include?! Secondly next year there's 10 years celebration of Lego SW. And there surely don't have to miss some bigger OT sets, too. Since Darth Vader'S TIE (which is already confirmed) is a medium sized set and since the Hoth set will surely be some kind of big BP (but nevertheless only a medium sized set) there has to be a big set, too. And - like some of you already mentioned - there would be a lot of things which could be inlcuded. The one half of fans would prefer Ewoks - the other half Endor Rebel Troopers, the one half of fans would prefer speeder bikes - the other half an AT-ST. So what isn't the most simple thing to give eveyone what he/she wants to in the way of making a big set with a little bunker, some foliage, a speeder bike, an AT-ST, Han, Leia, two Ewoks, a Scout Trooper, two Storm Tropers and a black suited Imperial Officer?! To put it in a nutshell: The Endor set is imo surely bigger than the Hoth set. I'd think it'll be about 100 Euros (like this year's AT-TE). That's the result to which I came. The only main character minifigs which I think won't be included are Vader and Luke. Klaus-Dieter

Hello everybody! Yesterday forenoon I designed a Western stage coach with LDD. Here is the result: Stage Coach Ambush Pieces: 278 Price: 36,88 Euros Mr. Silver and his wife are on their trip through the big dessert with the stage coach. Suddenly bandit Miller and companion jump out of their hideout: "Hands up!" they shout to the coachman. Will Mr. Silver and his wife manage to escape - and with it safe the treasure? Everything lays in your hands! This set includes the stage coach, coachman, Mr. Silver, his wife, bandit Miller and his companion, a skeletton, two horses and a lot of other nice accessory. The bandits own a wheel gun, too: You can open the roof of the stage cach in order to look and play inside: More pics can be found at my BS folder (when public). Sorry, but - like you surely notice - there are no wheels at the coach and the wheel gun since Factory regrettably doesn't offer them. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

Temple of the Black Treasure
Klaus-Dieter replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That's a very nice MOC, Erdbeereis1! I really like the architecture with this special roof - looks a bit Asian. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter -
Hello everybody! I thought that it surey would be very interesting to know whether you liked the CW movie in the cinema this summer and how much you like the Lego CW sets. So please vote. Comments are welcome! BTW: I didn't know whether to put this topic here, in the SW subforum or in the Community subforum. I chose this subforum since this topic is in my opinion general discussion, too. But if it belongs somewhere else please remove it - thanks. Klaus-Dieter

I totally agree with you, CloneMe! I personally think more that TLG will release a Hoth-Rebel-Base-like set than a really big playset. If this Endor Battle playset is about size and price similar to the Hoth Rebel Base of last year then I bet it'll inlcude: -a big and a little brick-built tree -the gate of the bunker plus some very little interior -two speeder bikes -Han -Endor Leia -two Scout Troopers -two Endor Rebel Troopers (new minifig) -the Imperial Officer in black suit (new minifig) You mean Tauntauns, don't you? (instead of "Wampa's) There actually was one new - and great- minifig included in the Hoth Rebel Base of last year: K-3PO. And I must say that I really like this set. But of course I was a bit disappointed, too, since the possibilities would have been much bigger: Hoth Luke, Hoth Han, Rebel Commander, Tauntaun, Medical Droid, some nice rooms, ... But if the list is true we'll get some Tauntauns next year. If there is a Hoth BP with a Tauntaun I hope it'll include a Hoth Rebel Commander/Captain minifig, too: -one Tauntaun -two Hoth Rebel Troopers -one Hoth Rebel Captain I think a Hoth Luke or Hoth Han are very unrealistic since it surely is designed as a bigger army builder set (like this year's Hailfire Droid & Spider Droid). Hello everybody! Perhaps some of you might know me as a big OT fan. I collected nearly all OT sets and even some PT sets, too, from 1999-2001 but regrettably need now money to buy some new sets and other stuff. Here are all sets which I offer: Episode 1: 7101 Lightsaber

Hello everybody and thank you very much to everyone who posted infromation, links and pics on the new Pirate theme! It's really very late that I comment on the new Pirate line - but I don't want to pass to comment. So here you are: First of all I must say: A very big compliment to TLG - these new Pirate line is totally awesome! I must say that I'm really surprised at that TLG will release this theme in a very classic style because I really feared (and bet for 100 %, too) that if there are new Pirate sets they surely will include a lot of ugly fantasy stuff (like in the new "Castle" theme) like giantic monster octopi, skeleton pirates, ... - but that didn't happen ! Now to the different sets: 6241: This set could have been a bit extended since the trasure island is very small and it looks a bit childish because of this crazy baseplate. But nevertheless it's a well acceptable set with all which a treasure island should contain: treasure, cannons, little prison, a boat, pirates and soldiers. (I really like the old pirate with the big beard and the golden ear trumpet - or is it a periscope? ) 6240: This set looks very nice, too. The octopus looks like if the Pirates had thrown tomatoes on it - but ok. 6239: I don't know what this rocky "thing" should be. But nevertheless this set is a very good opportunity to collect canons. 8396: The classic Impulse set: One minifig and a lot of accessory - great! 8397: Again a great Impulse set. I mainly like the campfire with the fish on the stick! 6242: This fortress isn't as big as the classic one. But it's awesome nevertheless. There is everything which is needed for a soldier fortress: a harbor with landing stages, a big prison, a crane, a boat, a big tower, a treasure box and some minifigs. Plus there are a lot of very lovely accessories like the monkey, the banana, the rat and the crocodile. 6243: The classic Black Seas Barracuda in readesign. It contains everything which shouldn't fail at a very good pirate ship: long-boat, crane, treasure box, a monkey, a lot of minifigs and a big cabin. Whereas the other sets are - I think - mainly developped and designed for JFOLs, this set has an extremely detailed design so it appears to all AFOL (Pirate fans), too. The most I like the deisgn in general, the cabin (I hope, it'll have some very nice interior ) and the female pirate - simply awesome! :pir-wub: I must say that I'm flabbergasted! Despite from the Pirate Impulse set (in order to get this fish on the stick ) I won't buy a single Pirate set since I regrettably don't collect Pirates. But since I already collect City, Castle (from the new theme onls the Impulse sets and the advent calendar), Western (regrettably momentary no new sets ) and Star Wars that's enough (mainly for my wallet). But for all who (can afford to) collect these Pirate sets I must say: You're really lucky men - this Pirate theme is much better than the last two themes! I wish and hope that TLG will go back to the rutes with the Castle them like they now did with the Pirate theme! And BTW: I bet that these sets sell very, very well. If not, then there is something wrong with our world! And perhaps there'll be an Pirate advent calendar next year, too. And since these sets surely will sell very, very well and cine TLG seems to go back to the roots in the Pirate (and the City) theme , I can well imagine that there will then be some Islanders and/or a Soldier ship in 2010. Klaus-Dieter

That looks simply awesome, Eilif! I really it! A very detailed and lovely deigned beach landscape with a lot of houses, boats and many, many other nice details - . The most I like the two boats in the front of the first picture here. They are very well designed! I really, really hope that TLG will release some yachts (and some maritime passenger transportation sets - and more maritime sets at all) in the future, too. And I really like the landing stage with the black gate - and the old dockyard in the back (it's a dockyard, isn't it?). Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

REVIEW: 10200 Custom Car Garage - Parts 1-5
Klaus-Dieter replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Town
I totally accept your opinion, Grievous! But when you say that this set can't/shouldn't be compared with other/older City sets then I ask me: For which reason is this set then released?! (I mean: Buying it and then only put it somewhere very far away from the other City sets does in my opinion make not much sense.) You're right when you're saying that I don't like six stuxk wide cars very much. But firstly there really is a qualitative difference between the cars in this set and the cars in the regular sets. And secondly the grey/brown car is behind 9 stuck wide. That's more than the truck from the Truck & Forklift set. So come one - that's now no longer nice! Generally I wanted to say: I don't want to be arrogant (but I'm nevertheless ) but when I look at this set I think that I could build it minimum that well, too. It simply looks "too custom" to me. Consequently why should I then spend a lot of money on this set when I don't like it?! And I wanted to say that I'm really because this set would have a big capability to make it to a very nice set like the classic awesome Hot Rod Club . But the design of the garage, the (ok, as for my part - only partly) too big vehicles, the improper minifig constellation and the big lack of accessories destroyed it. So, now I don't say more because I recur. Klaus-Dieter -
That's a really nice MOC, Duke! I really this calm scenery with the waterfall, the little lake with the fishs, the trees and the Ninja with his backpack . I totally agree with you! The waterfall looks very well desgined. And the rocks and the trees do, too. (Very interesting and nice idea to build trees. ) Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for that great review, mutley777! This DS is simply with all these nice detailed rooms and the new minfigs . I really it. I first thought that it is overpriced. But after having seen all these pics - well I still think that . But on the other hand you must think about that it is a licensed set. And it seems as if it is a very big set (It's so big that you have to store it in your bathroom next to the toilet bowl because there is no place anywhere else, isn't it? - ). In my opinion you could surely argue hours and hours whether the price is fair or not - but fact is that I really want to own it one day (Hopefully it's then avaiable for an affordable price in some years, too, since I regrettably haven't got at the moment and even won't have got the money the next years to buy it. ) because I'm a very nig OT fan - and this DS shows sone of the most important scenes from the OT . Really awsome! Klaus-Dieter
