I don't want to bother you, Darth_Legois, but from what we know until now there will be only one Hoth set coming out next year and this set will be some sort of big BP. It might include some Snowies, some Rebels, a turret, hopefully a Tauntaun and some commander(s). But I don't think that it'll be some sort of Hoth Base. Consequently I'd try to get the Hoth Rebel Base, too. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for that information, CopMike! On that pic you now can see for the first time how big this awesome wind power plant is. Btw: Is more like or more like ? Klaus-Dieter

I totally agree with you, KimT, and Matteo Kenobi! This seems to be a very realsitic list. And I really hope that it'll be true because of the great OT sets mentioned in it. Anyway legomilk said that we'll get information of a new set (must them be a S@H Exclusive which will be released in early 2009). After this list I bet it'll be the Venator Class fighter or the Tantive 4 ( Please!). Klaus-Dieter

I think that both might be possible, hollisbrick: We might get elves as a good fraction (then having last year's trolls as counterpart) or we might get them as evil fraction (with the dwarves or the king's knights as counterpart). A bit more supposable it seems to be them good creatures. But I'm not sure about whether TLG will go on with orcs/skelettons including in these sets then. I really don't know. The general question is even if TLG will continue new Castle sets with king's soldiers. Did you already think about some forestmen as good fraction which are attaced by the elves as an evil fraction? Of course your idea of some dragon knights sounds realistic, too. But we did only see an elf on this picture. So possible there won't be a new counterpart to the elves. In any case I have no preference in this profuse fantasy "Castle" line. (I bought some of this duell sets because of the horses, some of the Impulse sets (the knight and the good wizzard) because they are really nice and fit even with older Castle themes. And I'll of course buy the advent calendar because of the jester, the medieval maiden, the witch and some nice accessory - but that's it of the whole new "Castle" theme until now.) The only thing which I wish for next year is a king's archer Impulse set and again an advent calendar with a lot of nice stuff and medieval minifigs. And if there is a "Castle" minifig collection set (like the confirmed great one in the City theme) then I'd buy it if it included a medieval citizen with a hayfork. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for that clear pic, legomilk! This big construction set is really nice. The elevator in the background looks funny. Do you think that - like in the excellent Main Street set - there will be an interior for the house be included in that set, too? (I personally don't hope so since I won't have any money to spend on this set since my money will go to the harvester, the tractor and the farm.) Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for that information, legotrainfan! That's regrettably again a bad news. I really don't understand that, too. It's right that they surely had to pay a lot of money for this set since it is a custom product only for Vestas, Mirandir. But - like mentioned a lot of times ago - do only think about that they could get a lot of money back from TLG for the licenses of this set if TLG sells it to the general public. Btw: While browsing through BS I found following picture in Whung's gallery: I can't remember having seen a picture like this with a stereoscopic outlook of this awesome set before. I took the picture with the stereoscopic outlook of the Taj Mahal (which is in WHung's gallery, too) and compared it to the stereoscopic Taj Mahal pic on Lego S@H: They are exactly the same. So perhaps this is a good sign that this brilliant 4999 Vestas Wind Power Plan will be sold to the general public in the near future (I really, really hope so) - but I stay still pessimistic before we won't have any official confirmation (this picture could be even a picture which TLG sent to Vestas for any reasons) . Thank you all very much for your votes and comments! When I look at the results I followed the crowed: According to the movie I voted for Below Average: Yes, it included a plot, but this plot was so simple that - please excuse me - every brain-minded person could follow it . It was simply boring since there was indeed a lot of battles (which should imo be included since otherwise it's no Star Wars), but nearly the whole plot did consist of them which took away their "charm" and function . I know that the movie should purposely be done in cartoonish style, but this style was/is simply . To summarize: This movie can't be compared to episode 1-6 since it was simply bad. I have the impression that - in addition with the TV series soon - it was only done for commercial reasons but not because someone had a good idea for an interesting, charming and convincing plot. According to the Lego CW sets I voted for Above Average/Outstanding (I regrettably know any longer since I voted more than a week ago ): Althought I don't buy these sets and are a bit angry that TLG at the moment seems to concentrate mainly on these CW sets (and doesn't care much about its OT fans), I must say that TLG did an excellent job with these sets. They are very well designed and include a lot of playability, nice additional stuff and a great minifigure selection. Klaus-Dieter

I totally agree with you, The Cobra and KimT! Minifig BPs are really cool and a very good possibility to get lots of minifigs. But there have to be at least two different minifigure characters included in these BPs - otherwise Impulse sets are better. (I posted a topic about the minifigure selection for SW BPs in the SW forum some months ago - and the result was clear: The majority voted for that there should be almost one captain/commander/sergeant/... If you do a poll like this one for the Castle theme I bet that the result would be the same.) Klaus-Dieter

Should Lego Bring in Super Monument sets more often?
Klaus-Dieter replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Town
That's a very interesting topic, ~VBBN~! I voted for Unsure : I'd like more monumental buildings (which imo don't have to exist in reality) but only if they were in minifig scale (which is of course for real existing monumental buildings very difficult and much too expensive sine they would be much too big). Klaus-Dieter -
I totally agree with Matteo Kenobi. Pics of the 2009 summer sets are to await in early spring - and pics of the fall sets even later in early summer. Of course I'd like to see all pics of the 2009 sets now, too. But after having seen them, then we'd like to see pics of (already not designed) sets from 2010, then from 2011, ... . It wouldn't be an end. BTW: Legomilk, did you mean that we'll see some new pics of the already known 2009 february sets in november or pics of not until now confirmed sets for summer 2009? Lego Factory PAB online has been updated!
Klaus-Dieter replied to Eilif's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thank you very much for this information, Eilif! To me these new parts are mostly not very interesting because I don't plan to desgin my own custom cars - but nevertheless they surely are useful for other LDD MOCs, too. Btw: Here nearly the same question like xenologer: Since I don't buy this 10200 Custom Cars set with a CD of LDD: Do you know whether the new PAB bricks are only possible to use when you own this CD or have these bricks not already been added to LDD? (I already opened LDD before and there were no new bricks althought I linked my computer to the internet.) Klaus-Dieter -
Ideas for new Classic Castle sets
Klaus-Dieter replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Since we saw now pics of the new awesome Pirates theme next year which doesn't include any fantasy stuff and where the vehicles and buildings are designed in a very really classic style I thought about following and would like to hear your thoughts about that, too : Do you think that there'll be some "normal" (meaning no or nearly no fantasy stuff including) Castle sets after 2010? Share your thoughts. Klaus-Dieter -
Hello everybody! Things changed a bit. So here a summary for everything which would make a new Western theme possible: 1. The Western cap, horses and saddles are already there. 2. This year we got (with the Police theme) grilles. 3. This year there were (with the IJ theme) guns, revolvers and hats reintroduced. 4. Next year there will be (with the new great Pirates theme) canons reintroduced. 5. The Dwarves Mine set included some BURPs. 6. The Green Grocer set included the Indian feathers. => The only things which are missing are torsos and wooden pieces - and if there shall be a new Indian subtheme, too (which would in my opinion be very welcome), bricks and a tarpaulin for the tents, a canoe, Indian hairpieces and the chief's "crown" is missing. =>Regarding the molds, there is nothing which speaks against a new Western theme. I bet if TLG hopefully reintroduces the Western theme we'll (firstly) only see a bank, a sheriff's office and hopefully some other buildings TLG missed in the former Wild West them (like a saloon, a train station with train, a post station with stage coach and a farm) - meaning everything you firstly think of when thinking about cowboys. Soldiers and Indians are at that point when TLG will reintroduces the WW theme not to expect since they're not the first thing of which kids seem to think about when thinking about the WW (and JFOLs are their main interest and argument) and since all new themes include - except for City and SW - a very limited number of sets per year. And if the Western theme is reintroduced (firstly) in the form of Factory then there surely won't be more than only two sets (like this year's Factory Space exclusives). Consequently the most supposably buildings which we would have to await are a bank and a sheriff's office - but if they sell well (which I really bet althought I think that for saling bigger masses of these sets a general non-exclusive sale would be better) we surely would get some more WW sets in a complete new theme. Since there was - like already mentioned above in my last post - a poll from one of our ambassadors whether we would prefer Western or Ninja and since Lego S@H mailed all their customers a poll whether they'd like Western, Animals or Robots as a new Factory theme, I stay optimistic. Since there was the more classic "Castle" line (which has nothing to do with the really classic and great Castle sets from the farer past) introduced in 2007 and there'll be the great reintroducement of Pirate sets in 2009, I think we'll regrettably have to wait until 2011. But then it's consequential that TLG will offer us a new Western theme (or at least some exclusive Western sets) since the four subthemes which "History & Adventure" contained until now were Castle (new in 2007), Pirates (new in 2009), Adventures (is imo at the moment impossible since the IJ theme includes too many parallels to it) and Western (hopefully then in 2011). What do you think? Do you find this reasoning comprehensible, coherent and promising or not? Klaus-Dieter

This morning I had an idea of a possible 2009 Castle set which - after my knowledge - hasn't been mentioned here before: Since there will be this City Minifigure Collection in January I thought that it might be possible that we're getting something similar to thgat for Castle, too. Perhaps like following: -a king's soldier -a dwarf -a little orc -an elf -a horse with saddle -some weaponry What do you think? Klaus-Dieter

That's a great Western scene, Sir Nadroj! (It's a Western scene with banker and bandit, isn't it?) I really this bank chest - it looks simply ! Yes, if possible I would like to see that, too. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for presenting us that BS find, I Scream Clone! Despite from the outside of the house which looks a bit (but that's clear since it shall be a fantasy MOC) I really this MOC because of its great interior and additional stuff. Plus it's an idea which hasn't been done already very often. Klaus-Dieter
-
That's a good idea, Justin. The outback sets were great (regrettably I don't own any of these ) and I really would like to see some more of this theme. Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for that information, Jeff! So this seems to be the first bit positive news althought the statement is very neutral . Good idea, Dr. Brick. I'm very interested in what'll be the result. Klaus-Dieter

I thought once more about the Endor set: Don't you think that it would be very nice if it would - in addition to all the stuff like the bunker, some trees, a catapult, speeder bike(s), AT-ST, Chewbacca, Han, Endor Leia, Ewok(s)/Rebel Trooper(s), black suited Imperial Officer, DS Trooper(s) and whatever we mentioned yet - include the "open air floor" where this Imperial Officer and some Stormtroopers take Luke from the AT-AT to Darth Vader and where Vader examines Luke's laser sword. That would give us Darth Vader and Luke, too, plus perhaps a "common" Imperial Officer and a Storm Trooper. How do you like that idea? I know that it's very unrealistic that we'll get all this stuff mentioned above because then this set would be surely about 200-300 Euros (which I really would hate since I prefer more medium sized to put together to a big set). And I doubt and hope that there won't be such an mega-expensive OT set like this year's DS next year, too. If you want to hear my opinion: The exclusive set which should be possibly presented at this event to which legomilk is refering is surely an OT set. And it's imo either the RBR or the already mentioned Endor set. But we'll see - in three until four weeks we'll know. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you all very much for your nice comments! Regrettably LDD doesn't offer "real" Lego horses, zorro3999, since there is only a very limited selection of bricks ( ). Yes, I totally agree with you, Skinny Boy. It's really a pity that TLG does limit the selection of bricks available for PAB and LDD. I don't understand why they don't offer all (not licensed) bricks ( ) - but supposably that would be too expensive for them and us customers then. And btw: I tried to change the arms. But you can't change parts of the torso in LDD. Thanks, Guss and samthelegoman1! I totally agree with you that - because of the very limited number of bricks - it's sometimes really difficult to design some Western MOCs with LDD. I already tried some Western buildings with LDD: Nicolas' Saloon Court House Legoredo Train Station Western Street Scene Max's General Store Some of them were better, some were not that good. But all in all I think that when you look at all the bricks available at the moment (not only in PAB and LDD but in general) there would be enough possibilities for a new Western theme or at least some Factory Western sets. So let's hope! Klaus-Dieter

I wouldn't have been aible to express me better than you did it, Dr. Brick! Everybody would get what he/she/it wants, Vestas the publicity, TLG (and Vestas - fopr the licenses) the money and we our beloved set! Of course you're right, Eilif, since Vestas surely did not only license the stickers but the whole set since sticker printing isn't very difficult and expensive. But if Lego and Vestas don't decide to put this set into mass production they are - please forgive me - really pigheaded since they would loose a lot of their popularity and they would miss to get a lot of money. There were so many topics, comments, polls and petition in the web all over the world that they really would be stupid and blind to not sell this set to the general public since they must have noticed that there is a huge mass of AFOLs which want this set so much. In my opinion it's simply absurd and unfair that Vestas gives their customers and employees this set (which the most of them don't even want this set - which you can see on the many ebay auctions) - and we AFOLs don't have the possibility to get it (for an affordable price). Thank you for clarifying this, whung! So again some news which speaks again the public release of this awesome set. Thank you very much for that news, JopieK! So you mean that there'll be two very similar sets to this brilliant one in the near future, too? - That sounds a bit unreaslitic to me. Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for that news, CopMike! This is really bad news since this is a statement of a high ranked official TLG employee. Thank you very much for that news, Dr. Brick! Again really bad news since this comes from an official side of TLG. So it seems as if Whung's list was wrong. I totally agree with you, metalandi and Hinckley! I don't understand Vestas point of view, too. And I don't understand TLG. - And I don't understand the world. Can anyone tell me one reasonable matter why this awesome set shall not be sold for the public?! TLG and Vestas could make a lot of money when releasing this set. - But supposably they aren't in need of this and it seems as if they don't care about what their customers think about them - bad decsision for the future when wanting to keep their customers! Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for that information, legomilk! That sounds really good! So we haven't to wait as long as I expected in order to get more information and new pics - . Since somebody already mentioned in this topic that there'll be the RBR for next year, since there'll be only one little OT standard-release set in the beginning of 2009 (Vader's TIE Fighter) and since we have been waiting for this sets since years I bet - and of course really hope - that it'll be the RBR. Klaus-Dieter
-
Althought I fear that there never will be a SW advent calendar released by TLG, I really like your propsals! I personally would of course like an OT advent calendar very much, too. Klaus-Dieter
