I know you are using the 69x28 wheels from the batmoblie. But could you do a rendering with the 62.4 x 20 wheels as I feel the width of the 28 wheel is throwing off the width proportions of the cab. Kind regards matt

I kind of used to. Twenty years of machineshop operations for the aviation industry. Mostly mannual machines as it was more repair or copy to blanks rather than production based cnc. Some of the stuff you see on YouTube these days are mind blowing. But also a very good resource as well. -
I had a military version in UAE. A flat deck with a center winch for oil field work. A very reliable truck. Not as powerful as the man's but a lot lighter and could cruise the sands well. A brilliant B model.

I prefer the chunky panel as the bumper. The only way I can see you improving the steering is to move the pivot point into the hub. Not impossible but certainly a huge reworking. Maybe a number 22 and 23 panel just to have some shape perhaps? Yes it's a road legal race car. The cage is not as serious as what is in the racecar but still a lot more serious than a track day car.

A very dense build once again shades of kevin moo and madoca. I do like the jk bonnet. This could become a iconic moc given the variations you could build like RM8 fj40.

Google is your friend. However. Smokey Yunick was a very famous nascar driver and builder who pushed the rule book to the limit but also if it wasn't in the rule book he did it. Innovator certainly. Cheater? Well if you have never raced cars perhaps. He is certainly one of the reasons why nascar's rule book is as thick as it is today. And I certainly don't want Jim's competitions to go down that route. The whiners I am hearing ( reading ) need to take a cup of harden the !@#$ up. Be better be creative. It's not about how big or how much money you can throw at it. I have had people race against me with motors worth more than my car. It's the overall package that's better on the day. And I sure as don't want jim or the admins to go enough to hard basket and don't do any more competitions.

At the end of the day. People will vote with hearts and minds. One of the issues with the competition as I see is interpretation of the rules.. a lot of people are struggling with staying as close to the original except one or two... but then we are seeing some fantastic entries that people would have never thought or dreamed to build and I like to see everyone's creative thinking. Would I add this moc to my collection. Yes.. and certainly other entries as well.

No pressure there.... I could use the technic figures. I'm quite surprised actually how small the set is and it's about 29 pages to build it compared to a modern set.. p.s. I have built two of your unimogs so you could call me a huge fan. I think everyone is going to run into the same problems. And use the same solutions. From traditional to modern that lower windscreen pin is half a stud out vertically and horizontally. And yes at the moment I have taken a lot of poetic liscence with the front. A modern twist but still the odd ques and nods to the original set.... no means set in stone..

I did not own this set as a child, the classic technic sets I do have already have been picked or have rebuilt in studless. However I did a few years ago acquire a mint, sealed in box set that quite frankly the seller had no idea of its worth and I pretty much stole it! I also have possibly enough parts to make this and actually enter into voting where as [TC18] the wheels feel off, also I feel I can do a basic studless conversion but also maybe a modern up to date version with all the bells and whistles that we techinc people crave After a lot of googling it seems no one has done a total studless update or redux only a semi touch up of the B model in 2013 Not even a LDD file exists, so first port of call is to make a LDD then move on to a studless conversion. As a note of interest a lot of the original technic sets are even numbered and modern technic is Odd,

The 8435 I always felt was the technic update for the 8858 rebel wreaker. 8850.... https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-73464/gyugyu/8850-imrove-studless-2021-up-to-date-version/#details 8460/8431/8438 Pneumatic Crane Truck I feel some of the latest crane sets have addressed that update and with a bit of googling some one has done the a and b into studless...... if fact jim maybe a bonus point if you do a A and B version in studless?
