Nyx smiles, slightly wistfully, but probably not for the reasons anyone might think. She realises what Hybros has just said and shakes her outstretched palms at him in an effort to clarify. "Oh, no no, certainly not a mate; my heart is somewhere across the seas by now. But Larry, well, he was a pig when I first met him, but then we travelled across a desert together, and I saw him fight, and I saw his nobility, and we bonded. Plus we both like to get outrageously drunk, which helped." Nyx grins. "I have no idea if the old fool is a king or not, but sometimes he sure acts like one. And he has a sweet heart. He hides it well, but he's a good man, and that matters to me." Next to Hybros, the bald man stands and makes an announcement. Nyx's interest is piqued. She excuses herself from Hybros briefly, interested that he should be mentioned in the announcement, and goes to look at the mission in question on the questboard. She signs her name for both quests 72 and 73, before returning to the bar and approaching the bald man, and Hybros again. "Hello, I'm Nyx, a BattleMage, and I'm rather fond of destroying things, especially by blowing them up, although I've recently discovered the joy of just hitting someone ridiculously hard. You must be Captain Holla - I think I've seen you talking to Nerwen, and I've just met Mr Hybros here and he seems a nice guy, so that leaves Mr Docken - nice to make your acquaintance." she nods politely "I don't doubt for a second that I would be up for any task set before me, as I can wield magic with a most ferocious force, and also smack someone in the face quite hard. I'm reasonably self-sufficient, and I bloody love a good party, which is what it looks like this outing would be, and I can drink most men under the table. I'd really like you to consider taking me along with you." she smiles sweetly, wondering if there'd be questions as had been thrown at the previous "applicant".

Nyx watches as Boomingham says goodbye to his drinking partner, after saying his goodbyes to her. She sees him pat him on the head, not surprising as he seems a little short, but an unusual gesture. The bald man sits next to him, and they engage in a quiet conversation. She raises her glass to Boomigham's drinking companion as she addresses him. "Hello, I believe Larry called you Hybros? I'm Nyx. Any friend of Larry's is a friend of mine. Nice to meet you." She looks past Hybros to the bald man, intrigued, but wishing to learn more about the hero in front of her she continues the conversation she's started. "So, uhm, Hybros? Can I get you a drink? How do you know Larry?"

Nyx ambles back into the Hall, glancing at the Questboard on her way to the bar. No new quests, but Boomingham had already managed to get himself signed yet again. She sees him still at the bar, talking as usual, so she makes her way over, stopping by briefly to thank Kiray for returning her bedroll. "Sorry to interrupt chaps" she smiles apologetically at Boomingham's companions "I just need to get these to Larry dear before he heads out." Nyx hands over Boomingham's Scroll of Frailty and Sterile Gloves. "Thank you for these, I hope they serve you well wherever you're off to next Larry." Nyx orders her Flaming Gumball from Scheherezade, taking a sip. Realising Boomigham probably has to go very soon, she hugs him tightly, whispering: "It was wonderful to fight with you again. Come back safe and we'll drink together then." Releasing him from her grip she says in a normal tone: "Thank you for my share of the loot, good luck Larry. Sorry for interrupting." she adds to the othes and continues drinking her drink.

Mint flavour? We're so excited to see all of you guys again, and to meet some new faces too. Yes, we're staying at the Kirchenbauerhof, assuming Ru's booked it correctly! Next year! For definite! Or else! We'll drink your beer for you CGH, and we'll raise a glass to you too.

It'd depend on Nyx's mood. She'd be very unlikely to start the fight, but if she were required to defend herself she might enjoy the punching, smiting and incinerating quite a bit.

Oh, I missed this. It would be beer, but I suspect we'll be bringing some with us.

Nyx bows gracefully at Patricia and Bert, with a slight smile. "Nice to see you yet again Captain, glad you're a little happier this time. Mr Wigglepike, it was just lovely to meet you." At Thothwick's mention of her favourite drink she turns to him excitedly. "Thothy, you'd just adore it, it's a wonderful drink, even more so if you get it to flame. I'll light yours for you if you'd like?!" She turns to the other members of the group. "It really was such good fun questing with you all" she looks specifically at one fellow questmate "even you Arthur. " She gives Arthur a small smile; she didn't fully trust him, but he'd gone to some lengths to change the person he was, and she respected that. "I look forward to drinking with you all in the Hall." Nyx lingers a little longer, wondering if she'll yet hear from Phoebe or Yasmar, but also watching Larry closely; the fight had worn him down but his spirits still seemed to be high. She just wanted to make sure he was ok.

Hello, Ru and I are coming! (We only managed to confirm we could recently). We plan to drive... so leaving very early on Wednesday we should be there some time in September. Or possibly very late on Wednesday. I have no idea what time we'll get there, but we have a few phone numbers, if necessary. We might make a short detour on the way, but that will just push us from "very late" to "even later". I think we'll be exhausted by the time we get there!

Hmmm, mass carnage, nice thought. I think Nyx has a good chance; hefty physical damage, plus excellent magical damage, plus scroll use, plus healing staff as required and natural respite to top up her health between blowing people up. If she can get Edgar to join her too, then she'd be better able to dodge some of the damage as well. There are a lot of heavy hitters out there, though....

Nyx listens to the heads of the houses, wanting to say something, but just not being able to. The guests begin to disperse, and she feels Boomingham's hand on her back. She looks round and sees how tired the man looks, so she pats him tenderly on his back too in camaraderie. She gratefully accepts the wine, drinking deeply, wishing she'd had the opportunity to speak to the Ziegfrieds. Nyx smiles wearily as she sees Phoebe's friendly face. "I'm glad you're ok, Phoebe, it must have been a traumatic night for you. I'm sure your pooch will be just fine, and maybe Master Chef Yasmar will let you take some gourmet tidbits home for a treat for ... Glitter." Nyx turns to the Chef, unfazed by his size. "I really doubt anyone can blame the demonic food on you, and it's not like your food killed any of the guests, it was the poor unfortunates in the kitchen that suffered the most. The highfalutin' Houses probably don't even know there was any sort of problem with the food, so your reputation's probably intact, plus it probably strengthens your reputation that it's hell to work in your kitchen." Nyx moves with the others to listen to what Captain Patricia has to say, wondering if there'll be an opportunity to go and help young Bluto.

It's your own fault for getting involved with a drink I invented. Is that so bad? Maybe I should try my hand at hosting you two (three) sometime...?

Nyx roars as the flames unfurl around her, consuming the strange pink lizard. She pants briefly, almost ecstatically, as she turns on the remaining monster, a wildness in her eyes. She looks back at the group, animated, agitated, wanting more and wide eyed. Almost breathless with .. passion .. for want of a better word, she absent-mindedly breathes: "Larry, I need Arthur to act before me for me to be able to strike with maximal effect." She turns, smooth in her motion as she channels her martial forces once more against the Chaosaur with her book from the front row.

Nyx looks at the Assassin carefully, unsure how to take his remark but agreeing with his plan. "It's really not babble to me Sorrow, I've been in a good number of battles myself and I enjoy this sort of planning. This is what I want, to fight with hand and spell, so I thank you for allowing me to do as much damage as possible. This way I can really enjoy myself. " Nyx winks at Boomigham and grins "You know me Larry, more than happy to!"

Nyx keeps at the Cosmosaur with her Book from the front row.

Seeing Barty appear in front of her, Nyx steps forward, still gripping her book, still focused on the Cosmosaur. "Sorrow, Arthur thank you for the items, I feel I can get into my fighting stride now." Nyx nods politely and gratefully to both "Arthur, I've not found an elemental weakness for these beasts, it may be best to save your Ether for your scrolls and just hit them if you want to attack - I just noticed you planning to call forth Earthen magics last round."

Nyx turns to Arthur, with a slightly surprised look she is unable to hide. "Oh. Thank you Arthur." she really doesn't know what else to say, as she's genuinely shocked. Nyx stows away her Healing Staff, and fishes out her mighty Tome instead, preparing once more to smash the pink one's face in from the back row, and also hoping to see little Edgar.

Thanks Flipz. No, sorry. Somewhere along the Oxfordshire/ Berkshire border; at the top of a lot of hills, which is why it looks so flat.

Apologies to both Sandy and my fellow Quest 66ers. A hastily arranged trip to see family this weekend led me deep into the beautiful English countryside: Here you can see that it is unspoilt by such troublesome things such as mobile phone masts and wifi ( ) and as a result I was thus temporarily rendered unable to post. Apologies all.

Nyx looks around distractedly. "Hmm? Oh, hi guys, good to see you all here. Isn't it a pretty pink colour?" she gestures towards the dinosaur "I wonder if it bleeds red, because it would clash horribly if it did, but I guess there's only one way to find out, we can cut it open! Oh, yes it was that awful Barbariccia's singing that did this; sounded like someone strangling a cat, although apparently that might be because you actually were strangling a cat. Anyway, let's all have some fun shall we? " Nyx rubs at her shoulders where the dinosaur had managed to get some lucky hits in. She stuffs her scroll back in her bag and digs out her large book, ready to swing it wildly at the pink dinosaur, but the ache in her shoulder just won't let up. She sighs, and instead changes for her Healing Staff, preparing to belt herself with it whilst staying in the back row.

Lovely review Oky, thank you! You've given us a great view of all the details of this exciting new set, including great close-ups of the dolphins and all the many play features. I really think this set has captured a lot of people's imagination, and as Kiel said, because they're all minifig scale they work just as well in a townscape. Indeed, as Oky said they aren't quite out anywhere just yet, we arranged for Oky to receive this early, hence the box from TLG.
