We'll definitely keep in Town, thanks! This is delicious! I love the conveyer belt with the different incarnations of the cake, and the use of the Thespian's collar as icing is brilliant. The brightly coloured minifig hands as levers create a wonderful colour splash against the grey and black background and there are so many details to look at too. You've really thought about the whole process and represented it so well, and in such a creative way. I agree, more Town builds please!

Actually, I disagree. If you compare Nyx and Guts, for instance. Both half Barbarian. Look at their Extra Critical Hits - the multipliers are identical (WPx3 + Level). Because Guts has made a fortune, his WP is massive, plus he's got all kinds of gems imbued to account for the majority of enemies. So you compare a Raider's ECH and you can still get massive elemental damage (possibly multiple) through a huge WP, versus a BattleMage's ECH (bearing in mind that BM is supposed to be the absolute pinnacle of physical and elemental damage) and with a spell it's a single element multiplier that costs Ether, through a weaker weapon, or just a plain physical strike with a weaker weapon that might conserve Ether but still isn't going to do nearly as much damage. That's before the Raider is buffed to infinity on consumables that a BattleMage can't afford. I completely understand why Rogue characters feel that some of the essence of their class is threatened by this, but actually the Rogue based classes are removing the need for any other classes and threatening everyone else, in a way. They have the money to buy/ upgrade their stuff to completely and utterly outstrip every other class, and it's ok to have money - money's why people went Rogue in the first place (clearly gold-gaining is the major draw given how many people are objecting), but to say it isn't having an impact on the rest of the game is naïve, really. To say other people are jealous is also naïve; if everyone wanted gold, everyone would be a Rogue or a Rogue based advanced class. I think Scuba's suggestion is incredibly reasonable, and that the Rogue classes will still be earning a remarkable amount of gold even after its implementation. I would suggest looking at other classes to find a way to buff them, but I doubt that will happen.

[Sci-Friend] Olivia's new ship for the summer
Pandora replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
This really is a lovely ship, and it's great to see you keep building your wonderful space ships but this time with a Friends flavour - it's also nice to see the same build in non-Friends colours too (in your last post). The colours look really fresh (and they'd really fit with Galaxy Squad too), and the shapes are very interesting. Overall it's a deadly looking ship, just made cute with a few butterflies. A really lovely build. Hi Fabz, please remember that this is an English speaking site, so please keep your posts and replies in English, thank you. -
I think Nyx will wonder what the hell happened if/when she emerges from the kitchen to see either the battle or its after effects. There's already an extensive review of the Tower of Orthanc here on EB, with lots and lots and lots of pictures.

Indeed, but Sorcerer is the only Ether-based class that makes any money to pay for it (even Witch doesn't). You are one of those three.

I guess that's British English vs American English. Anyway, we should really now focus on discussing Heroica and its rules...
-
As a brief note, Heroica is part of Eurobricks, and it is subject to the same moderation as the rest of the site. Some leniency is allowed, but that leniency is not to be abused or taken for granted. Sorry to sound like so serious, but it's a fact, and you have seen moderators step in here before, and I expect you shall again. Please address all complaints to: Dragonator the Child Eater, the Cave of Woe, somewhere in the Badlands. He's always happy to have someone round for dinner.

Just a little reminder to everyone to post respectfully. Any behaviour deemed antagonistic or inflammatory will be dealt with. Thank you.

...Eubric explodes in a giant fireball, everyone dies.

He was actually quite nice a lot of the time. If he hadn't shown that so early on (at the point of the original curbstomp), she probably wouldn't have developed grudging feelings for him that then blossomed. All we need now is for XX to show up in the kitchen....

Nyx takes the Doomshroom and starts to nibble at it, soon eating the whole thing and replies quickly to Guts. "Thanks, that will soak up some of the wine. I don't necessarily trust the raven, and if he's playing us against each other then I'm ok playing along just now. We're a team Guts, and you've done nothing to make me think I can't trust you, but clearly he wants me in the kitchen, so let's see what happens. He mentioned he might need to lock me in, but if there's trouble out here you might need me. If he can hear the bolt slide inside the door then you can hear me shout inside the door, so if I'm not here then check to see if I'm shouting to be let out." With that, and a wink, Nyx continues on to the kitchen.

"You're asking me to potentially lock myself in the kitchen, alone with some angry and/or scared servers?" Nyx stares at Everstein. She closes her eyes, pinching the bridge of her nose and almost-silently cursing Guts' guts. "Ok" she sighs "I'll go talk to them" and she gives a resigned nod "and when you say 'explain the scenario', you mean tell them about the plot to kill Guffy and the time-travel doo-hickey, right?" she waits for confirmation of this (or not,) after which she starts to move towards the kitchen, downing the rest of her drink as she does so.

Nyx smiles and nods politely at Lady Marsh, disguising the fact that she thinks she's a bit odd. "Well, lovely to meet you, excuse me would you?" and with nothing further she glides off towards Everstein, whom she'd noticed staring at her across the room. She grabs a fresh glass of drink from a passing tray as she does so. "Dr Everstein. May assist you in some way? You have quite a look on your face. First though, can you do that thingy again, the one where you describe people? And do it with Lady Marsh over there, please?" she looks expectantly at Everstein, still smiling.

"Oh." Nyx looks thoughtful "It's a bit unusual, don't you think, to seek out company from the chef when Guffington has invited so many of his friends from so many different places? Especially when they all have so many interesting stories to tell. Do you normally go to speak to the chef at a party and eschew the conversation of your fellow guests?" Nyx looks.. sort of shruggy, in a friendly way, and smiles openly and innocently. "Any idea why your husband was so keen for you to visit with him this time round?" Nyx keeps smiling, but has one eye on the agitated Guts as he talks with Daneeka and stalks off. She wants to go talk to him, but her instincts tell her to listen to Lady Marsh first.

It was an interesting read, indeed. It's unfortunate that they don't seem (from what I've seen) to know all that much about LEGO as a whole. The advert they posted, which they describe as LEGO "moving in the right direction, finally" and "a pat on the head", is an obvious re-invention of a classic LEGO advert from a loooong time ago. Way, way, way before Friends, or even Belville or Paradisa. This Classic advert: Perhaps if the authors had seen this advert, they'd understand that LEGO has always been aimed at both girls and boys, and at developing the creativity of both, since its inception as a company. A quick trip around the museum at Billund also illustrates this nicely.

Hello Jippon, I wish you well with the project, but we prefer people to post their MOCs as discussion topics, with a link (as you have done) to the CUUSOO project within the post. We have this stance for every CUUSOO MOC that is posted, so I'll edit the title of your thread to reflect that. It's very obvious you didn't join to promote your MOC, and as I say, I wish you well with it. If you have any other pictures to share of your MOC, we'd love to see them.

Nyx too sees Guts in the corner of her eye, but wants to hear Lady Marsh's response before approaching him.

"Haha, what on earth were you doing in the kitchen to get kicked out?" Nyx laughs jovially as if Lady Marsh had been part of a great wheeze "Oh, Heroica is a sort of ... club. Sort of. Those of us with special abilities offer our services to those who ask for them. Sometimes it's the Great Houses, sometimes it's someone from the hovels; I've never seen a petition go unanswered, though. So what do you think of Eubric on your first visit? How does it compare to Gull?"

"Right, well, Guts is in there, so he'll notice anyone coming or going. Unless he's dead, of course." Nyx looks at her companions "What? It's possible!" she shrugs. On seeing Lady Marsh emerging from the kitchens Nyx narrows her eyes. Something changes and she adopts an expression of pure congeniality as she glides over to the lady to introduce herself. "Lady Marsh, I believe." her customary curtsey and a bow of her head before straightening and addressing the woman "I am Nyx, a Mage of Heroica and I'm honoured to meet you. Have you travelled very far to be here tonight? Are you a terribly old friend of Master Guffington's?" and here she adopts a mischievous grin "Oh, and did you see what the chef was preparing? I'm most intrigued as to what will be served tonight, aren't you? Well, I guess you must be, that's why you were in the kitchens just now, right? So, is it chocolatey?" Nyx keeps grinning but watches Lady marsh's face very carefully for any sort of reaction.

Nyx nods as she listens to Everstein. "Well, I should personally like to talk to the female waitress. It's possible she gave the goblet to Guffington, and soon after he acquired his drink she dropped a whole tray of drinks, and she made a comment about poisoning. And..." Nyx screws her face up remembering her conversation with Lord Chauncey "... I didn't receive a drink, yet she went past me. I only noticed now. I doubt she's behind this, but I think she might know something and maybe there's a reason she didn't give me a drink and dropped the others? Anyway, I'm going to talk to her when I see her."

Nyx too waits for Everstien to approach, but makes a show of looking around the room in supposed appreciation and wonder rather than expecting Everstein to attend the group. As she looks around she keeps an eye out for the other two servers, or any movement in or out of the kitchen.

Nyx grins widely as Guffington shakes her hand. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you sir" she turns to the Selkreeth and curtseys deeply, still smiling "Lady Felix, it is an honour to meet you." She straightens again, and turns back to Guffington, smiling merrily, still. "Sir, I don't doubt that your parties are wondrous, but the note left at the hall mentioned murder? I hope you're not expecting any trouble?" and she laughs as if it were a joke, but watches carefully for any reaction.

Nyx sighs internally at the turn of events. So she was to relive this evening, well, this might explain the necklaces. She looks again at the Hinckwell gentleman, remembering the shiver she had felt the first time she experienced this and watching his movements carefully. As she also waits for Guffington to stop talking, she considers that they all had a lot of conversations the first time round, and at some point they should pool information and suspicions. Perhaps here and now, in front of Guffington, wasn't the best time, though.
