"I thought you were supposed to be silent." Nyx takes up her trusty Book and Ruby, casting a Fire spell at the not-so-silent Silent Bull from the back row.

Nyx smiles slyly, licking a little blood from her lip, and repeats her action.

OoC: Oh. That. Boo. Nyx picks up her Standard again and casts Darkness through her Amethyst at the Battle Angel from the back row.

OoC: Spells do full damage from the back row, so no halvsies please. Plus I have a power bonus from my heels. Also, with SB not taking damage next round, does that include status effects? My gut says it shouldn't, but wanted to check before posting, thanks.

Who made Hybros Party Leader? "Well it might, if the bugger wasn't immune to Darkness, and the Ice and the Light in it will do very little. So if I get a chance to hit him (and the rest of them) I'll take his eyes instead. Maybe he'll enjoy a different kind of darkness." Nyx grins mischievously.

Nyx smiles at her hosts, even though she has no idea who they are. "Good afternoon doctors, I would love a cup of tea, especially if you have biscuits." she looks hopeful.

Nyx walks along with the others, eyeing their new companion carefully. She moves next to Hybros, speaking so quietly that only he can hear. "Heweyrt is an odd fish. I was merely being polite. I would be happy to kill him, should the need arise. Her too." she nods surreptitiously at Deborah "What Daneeka failed to hear in my words is that everything dies one way or another. And almost everything burns." She turns to the newcomer. "So tell me of the times you've felt the need to try to outsmart this Heweyrt. How and why did you try to accomplish this? It strikes me that that implies that one or both of you is less than trustworthy." Nyx watches Deborah carefully for her reaction.

Nyx replies conversationally as they walk. "Your new outfit suits you well, but then I'm always in favour of black. Very cool. I only know one side of magics - the destructive, and even then it's temperamental, probably because I'm temperamental, I guess" she shrugs "You just need to reach out feelers for life-force, then you just twist and bend. You gather the life essence and turn and squeeze until you feel you enemies' pain and they can feel yours. And then you burn, or drown, or suffocate, or whatever is needed, depending on the element. That's all I've ever known. I cannot teach about the healing side of magic, though, however I doubt you'll find a better tutor than the Druid Ellaria." On entering the workshop, Nyx casts an eye over the scene, feeling uneasy as her eyes fall on Heweyrt. He seemed vaguely familiar, and overly cocky. Doc Daneeka was just how she remembered him, however. "Good to see you again Doctor" she bows deeply and formally "and a pleasure to meet you Heweyrt, I am Nyx also no last name." she deliberately shows no misgivings towards the man, instead turning back "Doctor, I do not fear demons, or those who would pretend to be such. They die just the same. What would you ask of us?"

There's so much more to that place, and I think I would find some answers to a few things there." she sighs, also moving on with the conversation "Anyway, it will be pleasant to see Doc Daneeka again, although I hope there won't be much time travel this time. Lord Chauncey's - that's a name I haven't thought of for a while; he was an interesting chap. I always felt he had something to teach me. Well, I wonder what Doc's got in store this time." As they walk, they fall in with Ellaria and Skrall. "Ellaria, you look like you mean business in that get-up. Really nice. It's clear your confidence keeps growing, which can only be good." she grins and winks before turning to Skrall "Hey big guy, how're you doing? Yes, Hybros and I were at a party of Lord Guffington's a while back. It was rather complicated, involved multi-coloured assassins, time travel and poisoners, and Doc Daneeka, who works for Guffy, tried to help us keep our heads clear. Nyx swings by the Marketplace on her way to meet her friends for her next quest. "Hallo Portia, I'm running short on a few supplies. I'd like a Smelling Salts (-25), a Potion (-5), and a Remedy (-10) please." Nyx smiles with thanks as she hands over 40 gold to the stallholder, leaving her with 252 gold. With nothing else catching her eye, Nyx continues on her way to her quest.

On her way out of the Hall to meet with Doc Daneeka, Nyx pauses to sign her name for the lottery.

Nyx listens feeling slightly sad as Boomingham talks about what to do with his book. "I'll not hear any of that from you. I have to go to work now old man, so while we're both gone you bloody well stay alive, or I'll figure out a way to bring you back from the dead just to yell at you. Do you hear me?" She glares fiercely at Boomingham, but she knows he can see the glint in her eye too. Her faux-fierce mask breaks briefly as she nods and smiles at Hybros as he passes. More gently, she continues "I mean it, though. Have fun wherever you're going and I'll see you back here again" and with a quick kiss on the cheek and squeeze of the hand Nyx winks and heads out to her quest.

"Cost you a good hand in the quest you're not on...?" Nyx mutters confused, shaking her head, but Boomingham was already leafing through his book, mentioning names. "Hmm, I have quested with quite a few other heroes than you, you know. It's just that, as it happens, I don't know either of those names. Ah, I'm sure you'll soon have the measure of them, and them of you, too. I'd like to say 'surely any Heroican can be relied upon' but I'm not entirely sure I would believe myself if I said it." Nyx looks away, sipping her drink and still enjoying watching Hybros and Skrall together nearby, deep in conversation and both likely with sore necks.

Nyx can't help but smile at the voice, and turns and hugs Boomingham spontaneously. "I thought you'd left! I saw your name for another quest. Good job I'm not a Ranger, haha, I did a rubbish job spotting you. Cheers old friend!" She sees the restraint in his face but knows better than to point it out in public. "I had some things to do." she shrugs "Plus you know how I like my floral scented baths and hair styling." she grins. "Good, we can drink until one or other of us has to leave."

It had been a while. She'd spent some time revisiting some old haunts, dropping in on a few old acquaintances; she'd been by the docks anyhow, so why not, after all? A bit of time for her rituals and she had clean clothes and cleaner skin, hair once more neat, shiney and gently scented. She was starting to feel like her old self. Now all she needed was a drink and a fight, and not the sort she'd already found in the bars by the docks. The Hall is the only place for what she needs. Nyx slinks through the doorway, scanning and listening. First things first though, to the questboard. Her eyes flicker over the list and confirm what her other senses had told her the moment she walked in; Lawrence had already left. As had Atramor, too. Her eyes are drawn to a familiar name: Daneeka. Such an intelligent man, she remembered, it would be good to see him again. It's only as she signs her name for Quest 107 that she notices Ellaria and Skrall's name signed up too, along with Hybros. Her eyes turn back to the hall to look for Hybros, and is surprised, and amused, to see him next to Skrall. First though, a drink, to wash away the taste of disappointment. Burn away would be better. "Flaming Gumball please Scherry, just how I like it." she asks as she gets to the bar, not wanting to interrupt Skrall and Hybros, and still faintly amused by the size difference.
