Heroica RPG- Quest #96: Tying up Loose Ends
Pandora replied to Scubacarrot's topic in The Heroica Archive
Nyx looks right back at Boomingham with a steely glare tinged with fire. "Perhaps if you didn't 'herd' us like some sort of underlings, but in fact treated us as the equals we actually are, then maybe we wouldn't be so damn uppity and sarcastic, old man. Remind me not to bother to offer to lend you gold in the future." Nyx composes herself before accepting her improved weapons from the smithy, forcing down the anger that was so quick to rise. "Thank you for these; very fine craftsmanship indeed. I love what you've done with the book: anyone who survives a blow from it will now have a beautiful and intricate pattern transferred onto their face. It's lovely." FYI: Leaving first thing tomorrow (UK time, obviously) for stage one of the journey to Billund. Won't actually get to Billund until Wednesday evening, which is most likely the next time I'll post after this evening. Seeing as Scuba will be in Billund too, I'm sure he'll understand. -

Nyx frowns, not out of upset, but in deep thought as the smithy replies. "Oh, I thought it was Strivvian. I wonder what it is then? Thank you for your insight nonetheless. I would like to improve it, and this fine Darksteel dagger I have, by one level each, so I think that's 280 gold. I'd also like to sell my Dagger of the Blue Assassin and..." she sighs sadly ".. I think it's time to get rid of this too..." Nyx hands over 280 gold to improve her Book and her Darksteel Dagger, and sells her Dagger of the Blue Assassin and her Explosive Staff, expecting to get 80 gold back along with her improved weapons. "Blackhood, I'll have a little gold to lend if you still wish to borrow. How much would you need?" -
There's always room. I've added you, welcome.

OoC: Out of interest, what did the Firewater part of the Wizard's Ipsum do? Nyx draws out her Book of a Thousand Creatures and approaches the smithy. "Excuse me, I think this book is Striviian - at least I acquired it here in Strivvi. It's most unusual, and I'm not aware of anything else like it. You are a master of this craft, is there anything you can tell me about this weapon? I'd be most grateful for your insight." -
I've added you, welcome.

Atramor is always most welcome to borrow one of Nyx's. Nyx looks around at Atramor's sigh and spots what, or rather who, he's sighing about. She shakes her head slightly, as if she should have known. As Ellaria makes her introductions, Nyx grins and waves cheerily. "Hello!" -

"I'm ok thanks Ellaria, I had a nice time at the pub, so I'll just stand guard while the rest of you rest. I'm ready to move out when you all are and I'm looking forward to visiting the Blacksmiths." -
That sounds like a very interesting idea indeed, and I'd love to discuss it with the other members of the Town team. Thanks for your suggestion.

Access granted, welcome. Access granted to you too, welcome also. No, you don't need the three sets straight away, you can only do one review at a time after all. You will need three different sets (preferably of a smallish size) to complete the basic training in the Academy, though. I can't work out if you'd like to join or not, so just post again if you would like to join after all and you'll be most welcome.

Pandora replied to Zwergi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi Zwergi, I understand that English is not your first language, however this is an English speaking site and we do require our members to post in English. We also have a size limit for pictures which is 800x600. The reference for these guidelines is in my signature. Please pay attention to them in future, as they are designed to allow you to share your MOC with the greatest number of people. Thank you. -
Rick had already posted here to get this thread back on topic and you come in a couple of hours later to post this? Please do not try to reignite an argument. Please get back on topic and stay on topic, thank you.

"I'm in a bar. I'm happy. I'll meet you guys later too." Nyx carries on drinking her drink and taking in the ambience. -

"I'm well aware of that, Ogre. I'm also well aware that you don't announce your intention to just buy anyway at the beginnings of a negotiation." Nyx turns back to the barman "Gold for information, please." and she slides 10 gold across the counter. -

Nyx sits, speechless, as Skrall takes over her conversation. All she can do is just stare at him as she tries to gather her thoughts. -

Nyx sips at her drink, and smiles uncertainly at the barman. "I hear what you're saying. You want the money up front, and it sounds like you have something interesting to say." she pauses, sipping more "But the thing is, my companions have already given you 30 gold, and I really like my own gold, and I hate losing it. So I'm sure you can understand I'm a bit worried. You don't feel like .. just telling me, seeing as you've already made a good profit from the others?" another shrug accompanied by a hopeful smile -

"Do you know, it might actually be quite handy to know which doors you've been guarding for the Wolfgang. Do you think you could give Elpis, the other girl, some directions to those doors please? She's good at writing things down and remembering stuff." Nyx keeps her mouth shut as her companions question the bartender. Once they've all moved away to the courtyard she smiles apologetically at the barman, shrugging sheepishly. "Firewater sounds like my kind of thing, I'll take one please, but I'm not so hungry so just the drink thanks." She slides 25 gold across the bar and continues talking while she waits for her drink to be prepared. "Sorry about all that. I see now that you just know stuff and you'll tell them it if people pay for it. It's just that most of us are used to asking questions and ... rewarding the answers, but I guess that's the other way round to how you do things here, and that's ok. We're just not used to it, that's all." she pauses, glancing around the bar at its occupants "So my colleagues have given you a fair bit of gold already, and asked you questions. And unfortunately offended you. Can I just ask what information you have? I don't want to fork over another 10 gold, sorry, and I figure we've given you quite a bit already. No worries if you don't want to, it's just a suggestion, seeing as I'm sat here for now anyway. And I just thought I'd ask nicely, no threats or undercurrents of anything." she shrugs at the end, by way of punctuation. -
Except when Larry's being belted with one.

Nyx scowls at Atramor, not that he notices, and moves towards the bar herself. "Indeed, Blackhood." and a little softer, after, with a small smile "Thank you." Nyx turns and attracts the barman's attention. "Hi there, could you tell me what a Wizard's Ipsum is? I think I might like one." Whilst waiting for a reply Nyx turns to Russus, speaking in a low voice so only he can hear "So, Russus, I'm Lyssa. If you're going to be part of our gang, you can tell us everything you know about the Daymaster, the Nightmaster and the Wolfgang. Please." -

"It's a fine hat Mr Mortimer, I like it very much. And the suggestion of food and drink, too." Nyx smiles at the friendly rockling, just as her stomach growls loudly at the mention of food. "So I think we can assume that the Wolfgang will by lying in wait again when we find the vault. They'll probably try to take the key from us just at the point where we try to open the vault. I wonder, is there any way of tracking down the Daymaster and Nightmaster beforehand and just ending them so that doesn't happen? Maybe our other friend will know." As she talks, Nyx opens the barrels to Mortimer's left and lifts down the chest resting on top of them to examine and open. -

"I bloody noticed you. Gah, you're getting more like Larry all the damn time" Nyx looks over Ellaria's shoulder as she sorts through the loot. "Slim pickings, given the number of them. Thanks" she adds, taking the insignia. "I suspect the only use for this is to weasel our way into the Wolfgang. Some reward. " "Hello Mortimer, very nice to meet you. If you eat any of my gems I'll ram my arm down your throat and take it back. Just so's you know." she grins cheerily at the Rockling. -
