  1. Great model, the different poses definitely add something to the overall appearance. Well done!
  2. Interesting building! I would not have thought that a strong blue and yellow combination fits but it does work. Maybe supported by the diagonal set up and the openness. Did you try to add some glass windows and didn't like it or is it intentionally fully open?
  3. Thanks. The confusion may come from the train itself which is just a small dummy max 15 studs long and I have changed it's orientation for different pics. The first picture in my second post with a view from the top shows that the monorail track (also just a dummy) is at a 90 degree angle relative to the restaurant front and street. Sorry I don't have other pics at the moment. Does that help already? Thanks, wasn't too sure about the platform building where the actual monorail enters as I had to make a few compromises. That's why I didn't connect it permanently to the station entrance with the restaurant.
  4. Great work, I like the small warehouse which gives the scene a very nice additional touch. The station itself is charming with an immediate Italian village feeling, lots of interesting details. I like the front with the entrance area and the glass awning on the platform with wood beams is lovely.
  5. Thanks, appreciated! Thanks! Thanks ER0L! I picture this all in today's world as there isn't anything which couldn't exist already in terms of structures or architectual design. It's a rather simple concept overall, however I like clean boxes without any textures. The only problem is that I find it very difficult to get good pictures from the parts in black. On the monorail: nope, no larger structure planned, I have nothing from the official monorail stuff apart from eight pillars I just did a small platform building with the remaining bricks I had, which turned out quite ugly due to necessary color substitutions when I ran out of bricks. I have great respect for those guys building trains which can move around. Here are two pictures showing the structure: Monorail station & sushi grill by Polar Stein, on Flickr Monorail station & sushi grill by Polar Stein, on Flickr I think I will soon rip it all apart, buy a few more white and grey bricks and do another modern building with intersecting boxes Cheers, Andreas
  6. Very funny at first, quite unique what you have created here I think, a bug with interior.
  7. Cool building with a lot of fine details on the outside as well as interior! I like the fountain, just hilarious. Thanks for the hint with lights, I might give that a try myself. Personally, I would reduce the number of colors around the entrance a bit, it looks less balanced to me compared to first floor. However, very well done overall and quite different to what I do.
  8. Hi all Here's another new MOC. Moving away from residential buildings but keeping the style with black, white and grey boxes with a lot of glass to provide a contemporary/modern design, my latest building is a monorail station with a sushi and fish restaurant. The big "M" of the city's fast monorail network isn't just attracting many commuters every day but also sushi and fish lovers all over town. Monorail station & sushi grill by Polar Stein, on Flickr During first week of opening, a student in a shark costume was hired to attract commuters and passengers walking by. The entire building is on pillars. At street level (ground floor) there is a disabled parking space and parking space for bikes. The small sushi and fish restaurant extends over first and second level, accessible via stairs and the elevator. At first level there are also restrooms. The second level connects to the monorail station (right end of the building) and is accessible both via stairs and the elevator. A small roof terrace on top of the restaurant provides views over the city. Monorail station & sushi grill by Polar Stein, on Flickr The monorail station entrance has a vending machine providing cool drinks, which is especially handy if you're sweating away in a suit. Please mind the gap between train and platform ..." Monorail station & sushi grill by Polar Stein, on Flickr The red bricks in the actual platform is a less-than-ideal solution in absence of grey bricks. The monorail train is supposed to be red though . More pictures including interiors and the connection to a simple monorail platform can be found on my flickr page https://flic.kr/s/aHskzjsG2r. Comments and critique, things to improve etc. more than welcome! Cheers, Polarstein
  9. Very nice ER0L, your builds have such an elegance at minifig scale, combining realism with a smooth design! Cool video. Funny how the helicopter shakes when the engine ramping up.
  10. Haha, lol. Nice work. At first I thought you say "... and to complete your training you need to run for as long as required to re-charge the blue crystal thingy with the built in dynamo."
  11. Cool tram and believable overall design with a great atmosphere in the chosen color scheme and architectural detail. Also like how you did the electric distribution network post. Great job overall!!!
  12. There's so much to look at, stunning windows and amazing level of detail. I can only assume how much work went into this.
  13. Very nice, another modern (ish) Villa on the rocks. The angles are interesting.

This is really beautiful, immediately gives a warm Mediterranean feeling. Nice olive tree, fantastic roof and good color balance overall.
  15. Wow. Just bumped into this, your whole layout is absolutely insane! Especially the escalators. Very well done and great video.
  16. Wooooaahh! This has really exceeded expactation's after you posted your stylish interior WIPs. Stunning building, very sleek modern design with the shape and so big. I like it a lot, not the least as it's coming across very differently to those 3 storey old style modulars. I'm curious too see how you grow your district over time.
  17. Very nice builds ER0L! The tow truck looks quite realistic and that it's even operational is a nice touch. Given its scale, I wouldn't be surprised if you show us a jumbo pulled out of a hangar next ...
  18. Awesome! Very clever design on small scale.
  19. Very funny and well done. I like the combination of buildings, works well together in styles and colors. The cyclist clearly indicates the country ;-)
  20. Thanks all! This encourages me to do a few more modern builds, need to think what's next. Would like to do another one in difficult terrain as in California, but will need much more bricks. Haha, I guess you refer to heat losses due to all the holes in the wall. Yeah, sadly no basement in the building showing the heat pump. The lego monorail is interesting indeed, however I have just 8 of those monorail pillars from an eBay lot and wanted to use them somehow. As I wasn't happy with garage layouts, I thought this should be an urban house with good public transport such that owners don't need a space for a car. Though one of your Shelby's would look nice for this.
  21. Great MOC. The backside view is with the glass house is even more interesting than the front. I like the consistency in the whole building and how it comes to live with all those details.
  22. Hah! Very well captured, great idea on the bar chairs, nice bar, tables etc. It does have that future from the 90s feel. Keep them coming, looks like you've got a few more in the pipeline ;-)
  23. When I've first seen this, I already thought it's an absolutely crazy MOC with stunning amount of detail. Now you keep improving it even further, great attention to detail! All those ships flying around it in micro scale are perfect to increase the impression of the enormous size, WOW!
  24. Nicely done, refreshingly different from the other SW ships. Is it done all grey or did you convert the photo to B&W?
