  1. Fascinating! Has an cool 60s modern feel. Looks like a perfect home for a spooky guy.
  2. Very different to most modulars, packed interior and interesting design overall. I like it.
  3. Very cool building with a great color balance and nice interior! Now I'm curious how your Amsterdam project develops over time.
  4. Looks really great Askan, I like your selections and building style a lot. True to the original but still with some individual character. Good idea using renders. I should probably try that as well.
  5. Awesome! What an incredible project.
  6. Pretty cool! It has a well balanced design with black and greenish/yellowish colors. This could be some sort of space police patrol intercepting approaching spaceships.
  7. Your car epoche is over Ron, you should now continue to build spaceships. Very unique design. Your experience with interesting small scale solutions is now paying out. The only minor thing which could be changed is the cockpit window, i.e. making it transparent. However, overall a great MOC.
  8. Here's my final building for now. With this MOC I feel that my appetite for small scale modern office buildings is saturated, at least for the time being. Hence the name "Last Glass Office". The building started with the top floor which I wanted to do on a column on one end but then struggled to achieve a balanced design for the whole building. 9. Thanks and LOL on the 2001 reference, you're right. His fellow astronaut Frank stopped the rotation of the section and is fixing the aircon in zero gravity to stop those hallucinations: Space - Zero Gravity - White Corridor by Polar Stein, on Flickr
  10. I haven't seen anything like that before. Very clever idea and well executed! I like the tree and the contrast/mirror scene with the lady at the fointain of youth (or so) and the ghost at the tombstone on the other side. The whole MOC made me smile.
  11. Thanks Askan! I had a look through your Photobucket pages. A very impressive collection of architecture MOCs with awesome lighting and an endless number of clean designs! Wow. Some of your MOCs are jaw dropping. Thanks for giving me some inspiration to carry on and for demonstrating how much more is possible. Ohhh, I need to do more complicated builds next as the most recent ones were simple quick builds. 12. Thanks! Yeah, I'm trying both as sometimes I like the clean no studs more and sometimes think that visible studs improve the look. Thanks! I'm definitely enjoying those clean small builds and will try to experiment more with techniques over time. Thanks! Unfortunately, they only go together in the digital world as I had to use the bricks sequentially, but agree it would be nice to display ten or more of these. Thanks! Thanks! I was quite surprised how quickly those designs emerge from the bricks.
  13. Thanks! He he, thanks. I found that one trans yellow pipe in my legos from the 80s and had to use it somehow. Thanks! I was also surprised how well the trans bricks shine on the photo. Thanks! Had some fun build those over a couple of weeks. Yep! LOL. Thanks! I did smile few times when I had a thought and again when the picture was done. Thanks! Here's a quick bonus, hope it doesn't violate any rules Commander Dave may be too long on board of the ship as he starts to develop hallucinations. Or is there a malfunction with the aircon and too much carbon dioxide in the air? Space - hallucinations when too long on board ... by Polar Stein, on Flickr
  14. Oh, very cool, I like the details, bio dome and the airlocks in particular. I can see that you put a lot of thought into the logic of the building.
  15. Seen this just now, nice roof technique, must have been painful to set it up.
  16. Excellent MOC, impressive organ with great greebles and colors combinations
  17. Hi all Just want to show a small few space station/ship scenes of Commander Dave, an astronaut who has some emotional ups and downs recently on board of his space ship/station: He generally likes the clean white design of this modern space ship taking him and his fellow astronauts to a long journey far away from the dust and dirt on his home planet. Sometimes when he's entering this section of the ship he thinks how great it would be to sprinkle a few drops of red, yellow and blue paint on the super functional wall sections. Well, he has enough time to figure out how to do that with the existing equipment on board and NASA doesn't need to know ... Space - White Corridor by Polar Stein, on Flickr Commander Dave starts to think that the journey is doomed. Nothing ever works on this bloody space ship. He doesn't know yet how to repair the mainframe server which is providing navigation support. Where is the damn manual ... Space ship mainframe failure by Polar Stein, on Flickr The space agency promised unlimited water supply on board of their station. He wished he would have read the smallprint more carefully .... Unlimited water supply - space technology by Polar Stein, on Flickr His fellow astronaut was already in stasis for the long journey when Commander Dave realised that he's in big trouble. How the hell could this happen with such modern equipment? If he survives this mess, then he'll raise an angry complaint ... OH NO - hypersleep pod on fire by Polar Stein, on Flickr Still in the first six months after coming out of my super long dark ages. I should probably try to build a spaceship at some point as I never did that in my childhood but now start to like sci-fi builds. Comments and critique very welcome. Cheers, Polarstein
  18. Hi all, I thought I show you a small collection with three MOCs of modern office buildings I did recently after buying the Architecture Studio set plus a few extra pieces. All in micro scale or somewhere between micro and minifig. The first one is inspired by Centra Metropark in New Jersey, an award winning office building from KPF architects: http://www.kpf.com/p...ntra-metropark Centra Metropark micro by Polar Stein, on Flickr The second one is not based on a real building to my knowledge but inspired by some design studies I found on Google. I call this Box L as the white body is in the shape of an L with a rectangular glass box cutting through it. Box L office building micro by Polar Stein, on Flickr The third one is a free creation where I wanted to do diagonal wings in the form of an Y. I then added another box. From the top it almost looks like a Yen symbol, so I could declare it as a future building for the Bank of Japan Box Y glass office micro by polarstein, auf Flickr More pics at other angles on Flickr. I'm tempted to try one in minifig scale, maybe Centra Metropark, but I'm not yet convinced. Could be too difficult to get a good balance at larger scale and may stretch my brick inventory too much. I would need to rip apart the monorail station in any case. Or I may play around with some other designs first as I want to use the four floor high elevator shaft as a visible design element. Let me know what you think. Any comments or suggestions are welcome. Cheers, Polarstein edit: third picture exchanged with the one where the shape is easier to see
  19. Oh, very nice micro, certainly worth looking at in the Lego version The different heights and connections in the building make it very interesting.
  20. I like it, the details on the facade are emphasised by the white color in my view, really nice.
  21. Excellent design, looks really great! The size seems just right indeed, it doesn't look crowded with the whole crew on. How have you done those smooth curves on the side? Did you bend them?
  22. OMG, did Word really have purple pillows and bed linen? Some nice details otherwise.
  23. Huh, that is really large! I also like the entrance most. The dome looks a bit blocky, however I have no idea how that could be improved easily. Is it a facade in the wings or did you build it all sides? Not saying you should as the brick count must be high already, just curious. Well done overall. Do you have some higher resolution pictures of the middle area?
  24. Good to get some feedback, thanks for looking and your comments. I'll need to consider how I use the elevator in another building then before I rip it apart.
