    One thing I don't get, is the MOD on the truck. It should not be necessary to make changes to it. Unless it's to have dual wheel configuration.

    This makes it easier to turn the wheels during cornering and less / wrong tire wear. Front-wheel drive cars have the best of the little toe out since it provides uniform tire wear on the entire tire width.

    All types of racing cars have some sort of toe. It is true that you probably can't see it on tv, what you can see is the negative camber angle. Toe angle determines whether the car has easy to oversteer or understeer. It's the driver who helps to determine who must toe to run on the car.

    This is how the steering geometry is on real cars, except that the angle shoulded be toe-in and not toe-out.

    Why do not you use the standard (or semi standard) and puts some driving 16 tooth gears from underneath? That's how LEGO did with the Powers Miners set
