  1. Yes currently the tilt goes out of phase when panned too much. Zoom works already on all positions since there's a u joint going through the small turntable. I'm trying to arrange the parts differently to maintain tilt on all panning positions but it is really hard since I dont want the mechanism any larger :) Next iteration should be better on all aspects.
  2. Your crawler looks great. Clever idea to "cap" most connectors on white areas
  3. I thought I would get away with 2 wrong tires :D You guessed right, my tire collection is limited since I don't normally build vehicles with wheels. I'll change the tires later and also change the rims to black. Other option would be to use hard plastic wheels like on the original but I think it would reduce the Technic theme feeling too much. Heh I wanted it too and also never got it, partly the motivation for this build :)
  4. This is work in progress topic for my possible entry: Technic remake of the classic 6989 Mega Core Magnetizer. At the moment part count is 222. Functions: 3 levers on rear which fully control crane arm. Crane pan left/right Crane tilt up/down Crane zoom forward/backward Simple steering Openable cabin For now I am not satisfied how the cabin window looks. This is the hardest part to mimic because the original Magnetizer has the iconic trans neon yellow cabin window. Original Magnetizer for reference :)
  5. If the double LA's would be controlled from the rear this would be perfect! You might be able to have one U joint below the steering hinge to route the power to the rear instead of having it right on the LA.
  6. Thanks! Jim and Polo-Freak: Feel free to post building photos or results to this thread if you like! :)
  7. Thanks Jim! I was about to post this information: Instructions for my Snowspeeder model are now available at mocplans.com Instructions are made by Eric Albrecht (Blakbird) and have 125 pages. Model itself has 2191 parts. I'll update this post with rebrickable url later when it's online.

  9. Best Star Destroyer. Maybe the second best if you count in the models used in movies ;D
  10. Maybe it's not the newest Subaru, 90's models didn't have round lights yet the overall shape is pretty similar. Anyway really great use of panels on this model, all the holes left seem invisible which is hard to accomplish using mainly Technic.
  11. Great proportions! You are good at using panels!
  12. Victor: Nice looking SUV coming up, front looks great! Here's my updated working area where a new more accurate version of snowspeeder is coming up. Desks are self made (in a hurry) Monitors are mounted to pillars to free desk space for more important stuff :)
  13. Hehe same here. Maybe it's best to put all effort in Lego instead of environment :)
  14. Hi, site looks promising! Really great idea! I'm interested in sharing my Technic Snowspeeder if I just find the time to do instructions. (atleast I already made an account)
  15. I have pretty accurate blueprints printed out 1:1. My blueprint suggests the wings to be 2,5 studs against the hull of the ship and 1,5 studs from the laser cannons end. Originally I thought the wings would be hardest to do and chose the scale which would allow thicker than 1 stud wings. I'll post a photo later where you can see all this better. (afterall this is roughly 5-6x minifig scale) Thanks for all comments, you keep me motivated!
  16. Hi, some progress after long wait. Large scale is causing trouble prettymuch everywhere. Especially wings will be hard to maintain straight. I think I need to build wings curved upwards so gravity will pull them straight :)
  17. Here's one of the two wing support structures: And here's some overall progress:
  18. It's a custom dinner table I built some time ago. Here's a better photo of it:
  19. Some progress with the main body. Black supporting frame inside took long to get stiff enough. Matchbox to give some scale.
  20. I have no idea of the part count. I think I'll measure the finished models weight and divide it by average Lego bricks weight to get some figure. I will leave no holes to the model and try to use as much only Technic parts as possible. Some odd shaped smaller holes though require some use of system parts. New photos in a week, thanks for patience :D
  21. Thanks for comments and questions. I don't use any Lego CAD software instead I use normal trial and error with real bricks. In my work I use 3d softwares and Lego is a great break from sitting in front of a computer :) Considering the x-wing progress I moved into new apartment and also had to restart the whole x-wing for various reasons. Before real progress photos here's my new building environment and a redesigned wing opening mechanism.
  22. Thanks. I was first building on top of my 52" lcd tv but prints turned out to be more handy. I have no idea when this will be finished. Building speed is mostly restricted by my work. If I had only spare time I could finish this in a month I think. With current work load I believe a year is closer. ;D
