  1. I'll probably go for blue/gray or red/gray colour scheme. Here's a start of the cannon tower:
  2. Just to show a bit of the middle track mechanism. In the end it's surprisingly simple ;D
  3. Sorry for the long break, this week I continued building the tank again :] Most of the mechanics are working now and I'll start sketching the mechanics for the turret next.
  4. Video was shot by my brother, I can't do good videos :D Camera used was Sony Ex-1. Some camera moves were made with a "skater dolly". It's basically a plate with wheels that can be driven around using hands. Only camera is standing on top of the plate and it required some surface like tabletop to be driven on. (it was a DIY skater made of plywood, try google image search to get the idea)
  5. Thank you. At this point I could use different ideas of how to make a compressor which can supply atleast 6x medium pneumatic cylinders. I have 3 large and 3 small pumps + 2x air tanks.
  6. Here's the very challengin middle track + feet mechanism. At the moment I'm pretty satisfied with most of it. Front tracks have now motors inside the housing driving the track via a wormscrew.
  7. I think the middle track mechanics will be the most difficult thing to build. I've watched transformation animations from Youtube and in game, I think the middle track has a hatch that opens and feet come out from those. I think it's possible to build it almost like in the game. I haven't even thought about the cannon yet but I feel it will be easier than the middle tracks. The reason I chose this project is one popular Lego Siege Tank video on Youtube where the tank has only 2 pairs of tracks and is overall very inaccurate ;D I want to do it better ;D
  8. Hello again! This time I'm building a Siege Tank from StarCraft 2 pc game. First image shows how it looks in the game. Build so far has been very challenging as I've needed to come up with sturdy enough mechanism to lift the tank up. Thread/track parts will have pneumatics to open them in X position. At this moment only front tracks are motorized. I hope I'll be able to build a cannon which fires. All functions will be IR controlled. original photos lost, here the model is finished: 28.6.2012 -finished- :) | photo url's fixed 2014 Small take on building technique Cannon Front track mechanism Random work in progress Thanks for watching! First video was made by my brother. Second one is just a slr on tripod 3fps to speed things up :)
  9. Congratulations to the winner! Have this challenges selected afol entries been released yet? Lego's web pages are pretty messed up and it's hard to find anything ;D
  10. Pretty much nothing left to do better! (maybe 1:1 lego sandcrawler would win though ;D) I think the lighting especially looks great here. What are you going to build next?
  11. I like that you choose normal cars to build, not exotic supercars. Your Audi TT is also nice, even if it's not the most common car ;D
  12. Hi! I'm in a need of reference photos. I'm building a large scale scifi tank, it will be about 800mm in length so normal Technic track parts are too small. I could use any photos you can find showing custom tracks made of actual Technic parts. Thanks!
  13. Place sky on bottom in the layer stack. Add you copter on top of it. Cut propeller away from the copter layer and add it as a third layer on top of everything. Select the propeller layer, change this layers blending mode to darken or overlay for example, should work.
  14. VMLN8R: If you use Photoshop, try altering the sky layers "blending mode". Usually one of the blending modes gives a desired result and needs only a small amount of tweaking. Blending mode is the small drop down menu right below the Layers menu text.
  15. Here's a video! Does anyone know how to embed Vimeo video on Eurobricks? Banshee on Vimeo
  16. Nice collection so far, many models I hadn't seen! I kindly ask you to add this model to the flying things section: Thank you!
  17. Oh was there an age limit (facepalm here). I thought I read the rules ;D
  18. I wonder why my Banshee didn't make it to the voting :|
  19. My Banshee didn't make it through the judges to the voting in the Technic Challenge :D
  20. Thank you all! I might try StarCraft Siege Tank next because of the interesting opening/closing mechanism. I've already seen one great Siege Tank built but it was mostly normal Legos so I could still try with 100% Technic and have some originality ;D
  21. Thanks for commenting! The photo I submitted to the challenge had the printout next to it. I took additional photos without printout for normal sharing of model on Brickshelf. Now I need to make a video of the functions, it looks actually pretty cool when all the rotors are spinning ;D
  22. StarCraft2 inspired Banshee helicopter. Once again I ran out of parts due to large scale and ended up with an unarmed civilian version. I might add missing weapons and correct landing gears later. (This civilian version is my Technic Challenge entry) Thanks for watching! Some specifications: length: 800mm 4 motorized rotors via 1 x M motor Main rotor tilt via 1 x M motor Adjustable main rotor blade angle 2 led headlights Click the image for brickshelf gallery!
  23. Here's my entry. Click for larger image. Check my Brickshelf when the Banshee folder becomes public, thanks! Drakmin's Brickshelf
  24. What is the deadline of this competition? 17th of May?
  25. Thanks for all the comments and opinions! I've had no time for Lego's recently but I'll try to build a new Star Wars moc in the near future. I think my mocs are far from perfect at the moment but they are getting better since my part collection is growing. Personally I think some amount of gaps is acceptable on a 100% technic model. Fallenangel: My first X-Wing was bad because of lazyness, limited parts and not using enought refence photos. My fault! ;D (I should have made it in a bit smaller scale)
