  1. Is that to imply he isn't coming?
  2. Not a controversy really, more of an absolute win. They only people salty are those who bought a £560 set for a figure that his own would be sold for at most £5 or do called investors trying to turn a quick buck. I only hope they do this sort of thing more often, Yularen in the magazine maybe I mean I doubt it but it's possible since we did get cloud city Luke who was only otherwise available in the D2C or the America exclusive duel set. I thought ( I may be misremembering ) that it was said that it was was night sister Morgan in the set? I mean as the set will be based on a Lego cartoon this with surely be one of the most accurate Vaders ever, even the body proportions will be in the with the onscreen character and I'm sure the lenses will be. I mean if Lego was in the habit of printing Vader lenses I'd get the complaint but they aren't ( and the helmet usually looks all black anyway).
  3. On non-Zelda stuff, play station are doing a 'nintendo direct but not' later today ( Thursday) I think we might see the fabled Lego Horizon Zero Dawn game
  4. Only Zelda looks weird to me, I think she'll look better in person but it's probably the lack of outlines on her torso. I meant in terms of branding in the box, the lego.com sub divisions are overlapping. LotR (new not old) has 3 sets ( as Brickheadz is it's own theme) but not it's own branding but Zelda has only one set so far and it's own branding. Combined with things from interviews and such it makes me optimistic about the future of this collaboration. Though talking about Brickheadz I think a Zelda and Link 2 pack is a likely thing for next year?
  5. One think that is both interesting and promising is that this is a The Legend of Zelda set, it may just sound as if I'm stating the obvious here but what I mean is that it is categorised as a TLoZ set not an Icons set, unlike the PAC set or the newer LotR sets or the Dune set or transformers set or the (more recent) Back to the future set or the Horizon Zero Dawn set or the Atari set. This suggests to me that we might get not just another big D2C set but perhaps a play theme. Obviously this could mean nothing but I thought it was interesting to point out none the less.
  6. It does help a little but it still feels very steep. I know Ninjago sets are often better value than is standard due to being an original theme but it's crazy to me that the tournament temple city is £30 less but looks so much bigger and grander in every way ( model, piece count, fig count everythin. Legos price conversions aren't always consistent so I was hoping almost expecting it be around £200 which still wouldn't be a jaw droppingly good price but would be decent considering the extra parts for the other build option. I remember reading somewhere that the video games team had set themselves a rule of no stickers as far as they can get away with it, it was from a designer but I can't remember if it was Chi Wing Lee on Instagram or James May on Brickset. Obviously there are exceptions ( I remember messing up my stickers slightly on the tall neck) but may that's due to it counting internally as an icons set rather than a video game theme ( like Sonic, Animals crossing, Mario ( obviously mario also has pre applied stickers but they're a different kettle of worms) or Minecraft). I, perhaps naively optimistically, got the impression from the write up than they don't intend for this to be the only Zelda set. I could really see all those dedicated moulds reused. Maybe a CMF next year? D&D got it's set abs then a CMF in the next few months and we don't know what next year's licenced CMF/CMFs will be yet. Though a proper line of decently priced playsets could be even better ( or both, but if not a CMF then they should give that slot to Doctor Who please ) I do like the 2 in 1 idea but I can't help but wonder how much less they would have coat as separate sets?
  7. I didn't watch the video but he did update his Instagram post on the X-mansion Set number 76294, 3093 parts, $329.99, should be 10 figs I don't know if any of this is new information though, no big important new info either way.
  8. It looks amazing but it doesn't look £260. Glad it's not changed too much from the leak. https://www.instagram.com/p/C7g1b2DytkN/?igsh=bmg0YTRneTNxam41
  9. Thanks, I have been using the mining hat for Daleks for a while now, it's pretty perfect ( just needs the ear lights but it gets the general point across). The mashup was mostly inspired by one of the daleks I'd already build sat on my shelf and it having the whisk for it's gun meant it looked ready for baking . Is it Mildred or Theta Sigma?
  10. Teal felt like the most Unique colour ( compared to existing spaceman colours) to me so its what I went with, gold would've been my second choice, though it's the one I feel is almost inevitable to happen at some point anyway for like the next big anniversary be it of space, minifigs or Lego itself.
  11. I wouldn't be surprised if the minifig prize machine also includes some sort of pirate. It's something that's hard to have a vote on the space suit colours or faction heraldry but I think a pirate of some sort is a likely inclusion, even if it's just one made of reused parts.
  12. One of the designers ( Chi Wing Lee) has been giving some interesting insights into his Ninjago sets on Instagram, most recently the source dragon.
  13. Honestly I'd be pretty happy with any of them ( especially if it's on pick a brick) 1 - Kraken, 2 - Griffon, 3 - Crow, 4 -Bull Though the one I've seen most mentioned online is the Kraken so it'd be my bet for winner ( which is nice as it was my pick as previously stated).
  14. I voted kraken (teal spaceman) but whatever wins I just hope it ends up on pick a brick? It shouldn't though. The name of Kraken might postdate the period but the general concept does not. The Hafgufa or various Cetus, or perhaps Charybdis all could look just like the Kraken.
  15. The legs are obviously wrong, it kinda just goes without saying, these parts are just nicked from the factory so it's obviously just the wrong legs, like the cloth less rex leak or the wrong hair on Ezra
  16. This is a fun execution of the concept! ...though you must be madder than the aslume naming the characters clockwise from bottom right, what ever happened to left to right top to bottom?
  17. Thanks, I'll see if they have any of those next time I'm in my local comic show (though unfortunately my favourite one in my city is temporarily closed so I've had to order my high republic comics online ( though I never tend to buy individual issues I just wait for the books to come out)). Okay, a bit late but I'll join in. ( From 10 down as it's more dramatic. ( Also this list changes all the time) 10: Poison Ivy 9: Black Bat 8: Dick Grayson 7: The Riddler 6: Hal Jordan 5: Razer ( okay he's from a cartoon not a comic but so is Harley Quinn) 4: Streaky the Super Car 3: Mister Freeze 2: Alfred Pennyworth 1: Agent Kallus ( okay I'm kidding he's not a DC character) Saint Walker Honourable mentions: Batman, Power girl, Killowog, Wally West, Martian Manhunter, Miss Martian
  18. Here is my entry Have a closer look in this thread I made for it.
  19. Last summer on the Planet Skaro the evil Kaled scientist Davros gathered a legion of the most gifted Dalek warriors. They were taken outside of their cities, past the ruins of Thal civilisation to a great empty plain. There was a contest to determine who among them could serve him in his most nefarious scheme yet, but with was no ordinary contest, it was a BAKE OFF!!!!! Broadcasting this spectacle across the universe had seemed like a potentially lucrative opportunity to Davros. Money being in short supply because Daleks do not pay taxes and he had already spent a tonne on new sink plungers for his creations. Knowing now that he would televise the event Davros needed to find himself a co-host that could match his charm and wit, luckily he found one in the recently Cyber-converted Noel Fielding. Cyber-Noel was able to find them some judges in the form of a nestene duplicate of Paul Hollywood and the Weeping Angel division agent Mary Berry. Daleks competed in baking challenges for the title of star baker, all entrants to the bake off were exterminated expect for the overall winner, who earned a place in Davros's scheme, baking an irresistibly good cake for his birthday party so that he can get the Doctor to come to his party, cause Davros wants his autograph. So yeah, this was made as my entry to the summer time style contest based on very favourite Lego theme Doctor Who except it's not my favourite them as it only got 3 sets, though I'm always hoping for a revival of Lego Doctor Who. I might've of bent some of the rules slightly but hopefully I didn't break any. Whilst the Lego theme it's based on is Doctor who, this is obviously also inspired by the Great British Bake Off, making it somewhat of a mash up. There is a small 1*2 stud overhang from the base of the ground, Mary's wing and some other character parts do also have slight (hopefully negligible ) overhang of th12*12 base. It is not fully presented as a static scene as I show the characters in different places in the scene (if you can only consider one configuration, them I'd chose the one with the handshake and the loser being blown up by the special weapons dalek). Some fun little details include: A Hollywood handshake (Plungershake?) given to the victorious grey Dalek. The tart in the bin, referencing Bingate from the from Series 5 of GBBO. (after the loser is destroyed his cake goes in the bin too, a sad waste of a possibly decent cake) The Bin itself being a blue box is because Daleks tend want the inhabitants of a certain blue box destroyed Cyber-Noel was supposed to wear the Torso from CMF alien torso but I don't actually have that minifig (I got confused) so I improvised, but had he been wearing that torso I would have made it clear that the planet on his shirt is Mondas not Earth. The gingham tablecloth is meant to represent a technical challenge judging, where the bakers are supposed to all follow the same recipe and produce the same result, clearly one of our 2 Dalek finalists missed the mark, he must've been playing too much minecraft. The bakes on their workstations are meant to be their showstoppers, a chocolate bombe from the grey Dalek and an Éclair from the Imperial dalek. It is Chocolate week, hence the Bombe, éclair and chocolate cakes. Remeberance of the Daleks is one of my favourite Doctor Who stories, hence the inclusion of the imperial daleks (the grey dalek isn't based on any particular design however), the special weapons dalek (serving as executioner and exterminating the loser) and Davros in imperial colours (though not the emperor disguise as whilst I have made attempts at the closed dalek emperor design the parts needed for the version I liked don't come in the right colours) I omitted the tent because then it would just look like normal bake off, outdoors on an alien planet gets the vibe across better I think, besides I don't think it rains much on the post-Thal, post Time War Skaro. The GBBO finale usually has 4 bakers, however I cut it to 2 to give me some more room to play with, and to make the storytelling of the loser being exterminated more streamlined. And finally here is the scene with the characters removed and a line up of the characters. From left to right the character are: 1: Davros, 2: Cyber-Noel, 3: Nestene Duplicate Paul Hollywood, 4: Weeping Angel division agent Mary Berry, 5: Special Weapons Dalek, 6: Imperial Dalek Baker (Unexploded), 7: Imperial Dalek Baker (Exploded) and 8: The Grey Dalek/ Dalek Star Baker. Thanks for taking a look, I apologise for my subpar photography.
  20. Streaky add on pack £20 - a set of part to convert the Ideas Tuxedo Cat into Streaky the supercat. Dex'Star add on pack £20 - a set of parts to convert the Ideas Tuxedo Cat into the Red Lantern Dex'Star. Beast Boy as a cat add on pack £20. - a set of parts to convert the Ideas Tuxedo Cat into beast boy as a cat Behind the scenes of Lego DC book - £15 with White Lantern Sinestro
  21. All I need from the Simpsons is a steamed hams diorama. ( I might try and make one if we get Skinner and Chalmers)
  22. Yes, sure. Spoiler - She is mostly TLBM Catwoman, with the torso reversed, with a Purple cape ( sourced from Magneto) a purple hood ( sourced from Pick a Brick) and a nexo knights head Power girl has TLBM Robin's Legs with a white hip part, TLBM nurse Harley's Torso reversed ( the actual nurse stuff is hidden by the cape), plain white arms with blue hands ( i forget what that exact shade of blue is called) her head is TFA Rey, Though theres a lot of heads that'd probably work as good or better and her hair is from a pre Lego Ninjago movie Lloyd. Wondergirl has some Legs I got from a build a minifig tower (not sure what set they come from I'm afraid), the torso is from the CMF wonder woman ( I did originally have her using the mighty mircos Wonder woman torso ( which again was on PaB) but I switched to tgis one because the yellow matches the boots) the head is Chells from the portal dimensions pack ( it was on PaB so it's one I got a few of) and the hair is from this Lego city set. ( Though it comes in a lot of sets) Mad hatter is actually really simple, I got some of the recent Disney CMFs and decided to give Jiminy Cricket the head from Doctor Feliciair, and that's all he is but I think it works. Martha [Joker] has the torso and legs from a spare post regeneration 12th doctor, a Harley head from the Deadshot and Harley bikes set( saying reminds me that Deadshot isn't in the car where he should be, I think I might've left him inside a build) and her hair is from the Ultra Agents/ Ninjago character Toxikita. Aqualad is actually based on Kaldur's Aquaman outfit but I'm still calling him Aqualad. He has the legs of golden Cole from the Crystallized sets, the Torso from a dimensions Aquaman, pearl gold arms, hands in the colour to match his head, the ninjago Mr E armour in gold, the head from Apache Chief/Long shadow, the blonde Draco malfoy hair. So maybe grey is his favourite the because he wears it over white?! But no we can't guess his favourite colour based on clothes because we only ever see him in utility clothes like Uniforms and disguises. Thanks. I think the true origin of the enlightenment ( what you call insanity) was the failed prophecy of fate. ( The fake Tower of fate rumour). Alfred and Bruce are a good team ( though IMO Ben Affleck initially felt more like the Thomas Wayne Batman then Bruce Wayne to me). Thanks, I'll have look out for rise of the third army and rise of the first lantern then. Unfortunately my favourite local comic shop is temporarily closed but I can always look online. And as someone who has read a few odd GL comics but is looking into reading more do you have any other particular recommendations? As much as I respect you and your game I am morally obligated to send hate to anyone who insults The Lego Batman Movie so uhh 'BOOO' Ranking things is hard because so many of them are at about the same level, so instead I'll do a tier list. I've also added some of the other batman animated movies. ( A lot of the animated movies I've only seen once and so thier ranking might change upon rewatch, and a recent got a few DC animated films but haven't watched any of the batman ones yet) S(Incredible): The LEGO Batman Movie A(Great): The Batman, Batman Returns, Batman: Under the Red Hood Batman 66, Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero, B(Good): Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, Batman 89, Batman: Bad Blood, The Dark Knight, Batman vs. Robin, Batman: Year One C(Good but not as good):Batman: The Mask of the Phantasm, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight Rises, Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Batman vs. Dracula, Batman vs. Two-Face, Batman: Gotham by Gaslight, Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman, Son of Batman D(Bad but entertaining): Batman & Robin,Batman Forever(it less entertaining than Batman & Robin though), Batman and Harley Quinn, E(Not entertaining):Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice F(Negative entertainment value): Batman Ninja HAVEN'T ACTUALLY SEEN: Zack Synder’s Justice League, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns( but I've read the comics and if it's up to that standard then A tier), Batman: Death in the Family ( but the branching paths sounds really fun), Batman: Hush, Batman: The Killing Joke (but from what I know of the movie I can't imagine it ranking highly), Batman: The Long Halloween (Again I have read the comic so if it's close to that it's be either A or B tier), Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, Batman: Soul of the Dragon, Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham, Merry Little Batman, the Batman Unlimited films Hold on that's not a film?! It's shorts/episodes in a trenchcoat: Batman: Gotham Knight, The Batman/Superman Movie: World's Finest, Batman: Strange Days:( okay its just one short but still) Hold on that's not a batman movie: Batman: Assault on Arkham
  23. I had just started to wonder if this could be a joker funland or Arkham before you crushed those dreams with this statement. sorry not the best phot, but hopefully not too terrible either. https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/toys/construction-and-cars/storage-and-display-units/5-level-minifigurine-display-case-with-led-lights/p/220532 I have it set up to hold 125 figures (well 121 because Darksied is a big boy) If anyone is interested in who the characters I'll list them in the spoiler below, I know about the acquisition of captain marvel, and I know its not a situation unique to superman (In fact its a concept I first discovered regarding doctor who villains), the £82 rather than $130 is because that was the exchange rate of the day and my mind is always drawn to the pound value first as it's what I use in my day to day life. Yeah I was joking around it, I don't really think it needs changing. The bespin duel being unavailable here did sting (The target exclusive Superboy stung more though), but it was when we got the Luke from that set (and cloudcity) in the magazine that I decided that we're getting the better deal. especially because (IMO) the magazines have been getting better lately. yeah, if I recall correctly the failure of the movie is was prompted the cancelation of GLtAS (Green Lantern the Animated Series). I really hope DC can revive it someday. I might be misremembering but ithink there a was a screen where a green lantern (probably Hal) on earth had somehow messed up their ring and so they spray painted a baseball bat green and beat some crooks up with it so they wouldn't realise he'd lost his powers. it might've been from a spoof though. Also I have a question for you as our resident green lantern expert. I recently got a stack of new 52 green lantern books ( namley- Green Lantern Volume 1: Sinestro, Red Lanterns Volume 1: Blood and Rage, Red Lanterns Volume 2: Death of the red Lanterns, Sinestro volume 1: The Demon Within, And Green Lantern: Brightest Day ) and I was wondering what the best order to read them in was, and if there any other required reading I should do first? (I've already read Blackest Night though that was several years ago) i was brave enough to google and I tried and from finnish, nothing. Maybe Sphincter Ear (Sulkijalihaksen korva) is just Sphincter Ear. Good to know I hate to break the illusion that I'm not actually Agent Kallus, but my name does at least start with A. Besides he didn't stay in imperial grey when he left the empire so it might not be his favourite.
  24. Okay, I can sort of get that. Ezra's live action eyes were too intense but I found it easily forgivable, but there have been a lot of weird animation to live action adaptations for aliens in star wars recently. And please no-one make that stupid argument about the caricaturised characters in TCW excusing the total change of the established looks of alien characters and species. The Pykes went from bugs to fish. At the end of the day it's not a deal breaker for me but it is still somewhere they could do better. Though they don't always get it wrong, one of the Accolyte trailer has a great looking live action Karkodon ( Riff Tamson's species) @JohnTPT17 Amazing, everything you just said was right.
  25. The thing is, the 2 Kimbas to me seem to fill more of the same niché than the 2 Maleficent dragons would have.
