[MOC] Cloud & Chocobo from Final Fantasy 7
jakbar replied to Vincent Q's topic in LEGO Action Figures
It looks really amazing. I especially like the mount. -
what's your favourite set? retired and available
jakbar replied to robbigkid's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think that my favourite was THE REPUBLIC GUNSHIP it was very playable and I remember that I enjoyed it very much. Oh and I really hate this excuse -
Simple and effective. If I had to nitpick somethink it would be to smoothen these rocks a bit so they don't contrast with the spaceship anymore.

I am not entirely sure, but I think that the first guy from the right is a mechanician from THIS set.

Wow that's amazing! and I am talking both about the city and the animation. I always loved the stop-motion movies, especially LEGO. I've even tried to do some myself but I quickly abandonned as I realized how much work it demands. How much time dit it took to "shoot" this movie?

The idea seems really cool, but I think that the coulours don't mix very well especially the blue and the brown at the backside of the boat and the stand for the steering wheel. The sword at the back, dragon head, crosssbows and heavy armoured crew can be misleading as it's not supposed to be a warship, but then I guess that Kaliphin and Nocturnus are not very safe places so that's ok . I also really like the idea of balast at the sides.

Interesting, I never thought they existed. Thanks for info, I might try to search for some on Bricklink because they look really neat.

Cool idea even tho I am not entirely convinced about using explosives in a coal mine as it could quickly turn hmm... fiery. The warehouse itself is maybe a bit too boxy and the roof could have been less flat, but it's openable and the interior looks well detailed so I guess it counts as a positive I always liked the openable lego buildings.

Charming scene with plenty of colours and detail! Everything is so sweet that I almost feel my teeth hurt
-
Nice little scene, I really like the bunny mnifig. How have You done the eggs? Are they LEGO pieces or You've somewhat modified them Yourself?
-
Amazing, everything is very detailed especially the trees. I Love the fact that You've actually used brick-made animals and not the pre-modeled ones. The pathway also blends nicely with the terrain. PS. what are the little flame-like things on some trees? and... are deer's horns made of minifig arms? Interesting... and scary! EDIT: I've just seen that they are birds, didn't notice at first glance...

Beautiful! I must say that I am kinda jealous for You having this many LEGO plants and animals . I love the use of flags and palm leaves!

Looks pretty cool, I really like the steam coming out of the engine.

Interesting idea for the topic, I think that im my case it'll be:Tolkien, Star Wars especially clone wars and legends... that just got killed by Disney , Sherlock Holmes (both BBC's and RDJ's version), Soulsborne series, Witcher, Game of Thrones (still awaiting the next part of the book ) and Harry Potter. A lot of my friends are big fans of anime and manga, but the only one that I'm really into is Death Note. I think that my favourite animation ever was either Mulan or Zootopia. How to train Your Dragon was good, but not as good as the first two. Then I kinda like Marvel, X-men and Elder Scrolls, but I have never really dived into it. I am curious to see what others will say.

Gorgeous, i love the rockwork alomost as much as the canals and waterfalls. They are amazing! The landscape in general looks awesome. The houses look simple but realistic, The fit the scenery very well. The minifigs do also fit and they make everything look alive.

Amazing ships, interesting story, beautifull water, island and stunnig attention to detail! You have even put the waves around the moving ships! The island are very simple but are an effective decoration. I have even found en explanation for why are they so tiny compared to the ships: they are actually on the horizon so they seem smaller

Neat little scene. I really like the atmosphere and the details. My suggestion would be only to cover/close/put something behind the back of the house because we can clearly see the wall throught windows. There are also the inscriptions on the wagon that bother me a little but I guess it's not a great problem.

Absolutely gorgeous! I always loved this particular style of wallbuilding. CanYou tell me where do You buy so many grey "bricks". I was never able to get any larger quantity of these... I also like very much the little stones and rocks around the lake.
-
Its a really simple one but looks great. The walls are really interesting, the interior is detailed and I love the bell.

Is it normal that no images show up? I can only see "Please upgrade your account to enable 3rd party hosting...". Maybe try to upload using Flickr or Bricklink?

Any chance of Lord of the rings sets coming back?
jakbar replied to stella2015's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Don't think so. LOTR sets are not realistic with "classical" castle set's scale. Do You imagine a Helms Deep's size Minas tirith? with 5 or 6 minifigs? I do not... -
Personally I don't have any favourite set. I liked old serie with Jayko Vladek ect... but I haven't ever chosen my favourite.
