10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
TeriXeri replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
IDEAS 21325: Medieval Blacksmith always was oversized to any other Castle set, including 10305, I don't think other Castle sets should be scaled to that. (2002) 3739: Blacksmith Shop or (2009) 10193: Medieval Market Village come closer to a good scale for a medieval townhouse next to 10305. Purely talking from a set perspective, not MOCs or Mods.- 2,976 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
TeriXeri replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
LEGO will still get the CMF money from selling complete boxes faster. -
Yes the Raider gets increased from €85 to €100 in Euro as well, honestly ridiculous at that point. 18% increase. Even for a ninjago set with 7 figs, that's very overpriced 624 pieces (and that's considering large/special pieces), the set doesn't have enough special functionality for me to be worth €100, even €85 was a lot. I'll probably wait to see next year's location sets as those interest me more for Ninjago.

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
TeriXeri replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nexo had a golden crown in the first year as well, the second year was the blue one. Year 1 King's armor also matched the queen from year 2. Meanwhile the king's formal clothing from year 2, matched the queen from year 1. Year 3 had a fairly "normal" Jester - Jestro , if you remove the armor. I know the orange color scheme isn't anything classic, but the theme still had some very useful parts/prints.- 2,976 replies

31109: Pirate Ship has a horse build in the alternate Inn build , might work as inspiration as there are instructions for that.

This is how I see it, in the case of 10497: On this new version, there's an airlock in the back section, which to me suggest it's the main exit door, so figures can exit without putting vacuum to the entire crew of 4-6 that easily fit in there, or figures could even sit there without space helmets/airtanks on. As for the rear cockpit window, I see it mainly as a window, not really as the main entry point, and while the orginal 928/497 has a transparent plate on a hinge to place the figures, the actual rear doors/ramp in my imagination always was the main entry/exit. Han Solo doesn't enter his Millenium Falcon by popping off roof panels. But yes, I can also see other viewpoints, if you would open the big yellow canopies and consider them main entry/exit points, I can see the "jet fighter" idea behind that.

I think this 8 wide build / 6 wide interior and cockpit window is the right spot, monkie kid spaceship doesn't feel oversized on the outside, yet also has plenty of space inside to sit figures on chairs. For 497/928 I have the old set and 4 wide "interior" consists of just a floor with 2 printed slopes and a steering wheel. This interior design effectively doubles interior space (for minifgs) while only scaling up 1.5x and the windscreen section remains faithful 6 wide. A lot of details aren't really visible that well via just pictures, like the grey sliding airlock door to seperate the hangar bay from the rest of the ship.

Black air tank for sure (also in set 31130 alongside a Darkgrey Space helm) The Black Space helmet was in a 2020 set, and Blue helmet in another 2020 set. The pose of that picture seems very hint like though. The original did have a grey airtank which never was made in new grey (beside a pearl darkgrey airtank was in 5 Ninjago movie sets in 2017)

I love the throwback to LEGO colors in the interior , and even some very useful parts for alternate builds beyond the 924/918 inspired builds. (click to zoom) Those tiles will be VERY useful as well.

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
TeriXeri replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
LEGO is just inconsistent , here are 2 2022 sets: 31130: Sunken Treasure Mission counts the skeleton as minifigure 80034: Nezha's Fire Ring , does not count it. 2021: Medieval Castle did not count it 2020 : Barracuda Bay did not count 2, Hidden Side Lighthouse counted it , Halloween Hayride did not count 2019 : Hidden Side Graveyard calls it "a skeleton figure" but includes it in the count. 2018 : 31084: Pirate Roller Coaster seperates 4 minifigures from "a skeleton figure" At this point there's no logic/pattern behind it.- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
TeriXeri replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I agree they do show the figures where possible, it's more of a way how things are listed/cataloged. Brickset and Bricklink do count skeletons as minifigs , descriptions of sets have and have not. At this point it's a bit of a nitpick between some official description text or a database. At least the skeletons aren't the 1995 floppy arms versions anymore, so they can be used as opponents by holding weapons a bit better.- 2,976 replies

3-in-1 Pirate Ship and Castle both say 3 figures (and have a 4th being a skeleton), but this set does count a skeleton as a full figure. Even a more AFOL oriented set like Barracuda Bay did not count the 2 skeletons as minifigs in the description- 2,976 replies

I agree, compared to many of the other blue wizards, including the original one and the 2010 advent calendar one which was basicly majisto 2.0, this without print looks really bland. Even the Nexo Knight Merlok figure from a book looks better.- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
TeriXeri replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I agree, a Horse is the only essential animal to a Castle set imo. Of course if something is a strict remake (like Forestmen hideout style), there could be grey parrot or a bat from the dragon master majisto / fright knight era. I wonder with the parts of this set, how wide you could build if you kept to "classic" 80s scale, since this set has 3 factions included. Could probably easily build like 2-3 castle "sets" from this and have parts leftover for something like a guarded inn or forestmen tree/build (even moreso if you add Forest hideout parts)t- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
TeriXeri replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nexo Knight had the backstory of the Queen being a fighter, and the Princess wanted to be a Knight as well, fighting with the same mace style as the queen, both have been documented in the multiple books behind that theme and the figures as well, that theme also had multiple fantasy villains being female. The king was more passive and only fought because he got a battle-mech built for him. So this certainly isn't the first time that a queen is depicted in battle in a LEGO minifig castle setting. I don't think using classic smileys would've been a solution either in this case considering other 2021/2022 Castle sets. That said, I have 0 issue with the female guards in this set, and I also don't think there need to be official figure names or backstory for this type of set.- 2,976 replies

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
A reimagining of 6971: Inter-Galactic Command Base (the only set that had Black and Blue figure outside of the Minifig Pack) would solve things, Black, Blue and Yellow, and it's also also a radar / rocket launch base that's not in 10497. Yellow has been available in other ways, like Benny's squad obviously but talking about timing here alongside the availability of 10497, a base might be bought alongside the ship and offer different parts. -
I measured the original set and this one will be quite huge compared to it, which isn't a bad thing as it's packed with detail/interior. I wonder if the non-tiled edges are left studded on purpose with a goal to recreate an inner section closer to the shape and size of the original set, while the added bevel obviously adds size in multiple directions.

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
TeriXeri replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I've seen some decent downscales of the Blacksmith as well, will be trying my hand at downscaling it as well as it's massive compared to 3-in-1 castle and even this newer one. Nothing wrong with the blacksmith set itself, just that pretty much all my collection are either 3-in-1 scale or "Castle Scale" , blacksmith even still looks massive compared to taller castles like Jestro's Lair or Knighton Castle. I don't have Medieval Market village but I do like the concept of the hinged buildings for wider display and showing interior/backside easily.- 2,976 replies

That's quite fun to see generated in context of LEGO / Minifigs. I got some weird Space and Castle AI here using the same site :
