10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
TeriXeri replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Big set like Loop Coaster (also €400) already have some Video Reviews, so I'll assume this set might be video reviewed beforehand as well , that'll help and conclude.- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
TeriXeri replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
There are a lot of shields in this set, but I'd think mixing stickers and prints in a huge set like this would be a major disappointment into LEGO. Stickers do have reasons and places, but such tight stickers with pretty much no edge, seem not something LEGO does in a regular set, there's usually some edge of space around a sticker. Throwbacks to Yellow Castle does not mean it's okay to go back to Stickered shields in such a set. However, if you compare the 2016 printed shield which is printed all the way to the edge, it's different from those 2022 shields. Even got some doubts now about the shields shown in the interior from left to right, the blue shield seems aligned too far topleft, and only the Pink shield with crown seems to be printed all the way to the edge as it appears in CMF.- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set

2016 Knight GWP shields were printed : Remade falcon shields are printed, forestmen GWP are printed, BAM lion shields were printed. Castle in the forest used stickers but Bricklink program can't get unique out of production prints afaik.- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
TeriXeri replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I'll definately will change the Blacksmith into something else, something akin to medieval market village, just to reuse the roof tiles, or just an addon to the blue-roofed Falcon castle 3-in-1 (or moc variants of it) This set I'll probably won't change for a while unless that black tree is easily movable it'd be used for more forestmen.- 2,976 replies

I showed this to someone who got the original as a gift back when the first Classic Space sets were in stores, instantly recognized it. I'm glad LEGO didn't go too far with making it too "neo", it's scaled up and more sleek but it still has the crucial details, and some possibly some new features (landing feet look retractable). All those computer screens in both cockpit sections really finish the style as well, and are gems for MOCcing. No Landing pad or Radar base, but I'm 100% okay with that in this case.

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set

It's probably just me, but those 3 kids could easily be imagined as far ancestors of Robin, Clay and Ava from Nexo knight based on hairstyles/faces.- 2,976 replies

Just built the creature and its over 20 cm in arm diameter so definately bigger then the moulded octopus, and posable arms help a lot setting up scenes.

This looks amazing and considering the size even a good price too.

I agree it's small and I might just make it into pirate fort instead, I'll probably try the alternate builds first.

Looks like an impressive set for sure, not my type of scale of set but I like this one a lot, this just needs quite a lot of space and height, not something for inside of a bookshelf. (Pirate Rollercoaster is my little taste of LEGO rollercoaster currently)

Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Did you see the parts in the wildlife mission ? it has parts to tow things like a crane hook/chain, but a green towtruck with "wildlife/rescue" on it isn't really a garage theme. It's easy to fix with a different car hood, but still allows scenes like this : 60081: Pickup Tow Truck However, I think a Tow truck is probably better off as a great vehicle. LEGO hasn't done a proper "truck" style Tow Truck lately , like 2009 or 2014. -

I worded it a bit weird, sorry, I meant, a Mission set could be based on the set, I don't own the set, but it's a good example of how a Tuner/Garage mission might look. Speed Champions doesn't really include side builds with tools anymore so a City garage tuner mission seems right. -

I got it from the moon base recently. i just saw this, from 2015, seems like a good way to City-Fy a garage/racing/tuner mission and it has the tool cart. This was a €15 set at the time for 187 parts, but let's say even with €30 mission budget, could easily be replicated and more stuff added. -

Agree, especially lends the good opportunity for a smaller set that can include the toolset, and blowtorch/welding and maybe a tool cart with drawers. Lego makes a ton of sets with wrench, hammer ,shovel etc, but the actual mini tool pack is rare, especially in CITY. -
I see i made a typo, not 31120 (castle) 31130: Sunken Treasure Mission €30 (522 pieces) It's brickbuilt but fairly big and very posable It's darkred so reminded me of this set :

It's definately a matter of size and what scale. 3-in-1 animals are usually a bit comical if meant to be minifig scale (see the 3-in-1 treehouse giraffe/lion), even the small dogs, but the detail has gotten better with more small piece types available. The larger animals are quite a bit better, some still fit into minifig context as "monsters" like the green dinosaur, red octopus/lobster, big shark from last couple years Elves animal heads were moulded for most builds, and the eye style was different, but the whole style of theme was a bit of fantasy/anime/cartoon so it does fit with other Elves sets and Friend animals. For smaller animals I prefer minifig moulded, and minifig horses have been a bit rare after 2013, but getting a bit more common again recently with the Tan and now Dark Orange horse, and darkbrown saddle. So overall, I won't choose 1 side, it really depends on what the goal is. Overall the larger moulded LEGO animals certainly are a lot more pricey compared to other toys, including even Playmobil etc, if I had to gift a younger kid a toy I'd probably either gift a 3-in-1 animal to get into LEGO building, or one of the non-LEGO animals for play. 3-in-1 animal sets have some of the biggest number of alternate builds on Rebrickable too, so even AFOL have gotten really creative with them, turning larger animal sets like the Tiger into Dinosaurs or Sharks etc, or combining 2-3 of the smaller animal sets into even more variants, also the official 3-in-1 set descriptions even suggest to make more custom builds.

Lego City 2022 Rumours, Leaks, Information And Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Well, in an article, it was mentioned, 19 stories were suggested to LEGO ,and so far 3 were approved, so there's probably a chance for more. Fire and perhaps Medical seem logical as they are already returning subthemes. A Construction/Mining variant could be awesome as well (more focused then the wildlife set) Garage / Racing could work as well, customizing a Racing car or Hotrod. Overall, the goal looks to be the covering of multiple aspects in a single yet, making the sets cover multiple semi subthemes. The Police water mission is more then just a police boat, it's also a submarine, and power-racing boat so it combines multiple play aspects of City sets that have been made over the years. The Wildlife mission already has some construction site/road repair elements included like a Shovel, Crane etc, so could certainly be a road/service truck as well. Space Missions speaks for itself, and the addition of the printed "mars" logos sets it apart a bit from the rest of the space subtheme and it's a bit more sci-fi/fantasy with a lot more classic type of parts. -
So far multiple reports from Netherlands/Belgium/UK that Hideout is shipped seperately from the rest of order. It caused some confusion yesterday as the delivery was before tracking info was updated, eventually showing it was 2 packages.
-
I assume they'll add it to US after EU version gets out of "beta" , currently the selection of parts is limited. The knight shields and such people were hyped about were only available for a few days in April. During May the service was down for a while.
-
Yeah I saw that too in instructions, after looking up the foilage parts, the 31120 castle used the bright green color as well. Surprisingly the smaller 4x3 leaf part never was made in bright green , its regular green in this set.
-
31120 octopus will certainly be a nice addition to Pirate play, 6240: Kraken Attackin' was a 2009 set. As for future sets, something imperial would indeed be nice, Barracuda Bay was amazing but pirates need some place to plunder and not just some skeleton opponents (speaking of someone who missed the 2015 Pirate wave)

LEGO Creator 2022 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to TeriXeri's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Built the submarine from 31130: Sunken Treasure Mission and the build itself is quite complex, I understand why it's an 8+ set now despite looking like another City submarine at first picture glance. Interesting selection of parts overall. There's a lot of building directions, upside down parts held with clips and the round windscreen and rear hatch sit very well against the car fender pieces, really well thought out design. Haven't built the octopus yet but it does have a lot of moving parts, I can see people build a lot of fun alternates with this set. 31088: Deep Sea Creatures had a squid alternate build but as a smaller set, the tentacles are more static, with this octopus you can probably have some great play with attacking little boats and pirates. 31058: Mighty Dinosaurs is still sold and that set released 4.5 years ago. Walmart now has a mega-pack with 3 animal sets.
