Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
First City 2019 magazine is out (Netherlands), focusing on the Sky Police theme, which has a small jet and police minifig with big sunglasses. Best part is that the minifig police officer you get is named Tom Maverick. (Top Gun reference, actor name Tom Cruise, pilot nickname Maverick) with big sunglasses. Next month has a standard firefighter with a burning barrel (octan color scheme). Similar to the barrels in 2019 Dock Side Fire set. -
I can certainly instantly recognize 5978 , with the red and blue color scheme on the Sphinx. I always loved the Egypt themed Adventurer sets in the catalogs and LEGO Racers. I only ever got 2 very small sets of the theme (5900 and 5918) Western (1997) and Adventurers (1998) put LEGO into a different direction at the time, Tan color became used a lot more after. It was the same time LEGO also had the Ninja subtheme to Castle (1998/1999).

The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)
TeriXeri replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Also, since it's 2019 now, remember Ideas still has multiple "space" sets in the voting phase for next round. https://ideas.lego.com/#in_review_projects - International Space Station - Space X Falcon Heavy - Space X - Ultimate Collection If any selection makes it through however, I'd much rather see Central Perk as a set.- 991 replies

LEGO Overwatch - Wishlists and Future Speculation
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
Oh it saves me money too, right now other themes look more interesting. But I still hope they'll make 1 of each character instead of going into more duplicates (2x reaper already in 1st wave even if they are different). I could understand Duplicate Nexo Knights(5 characters) but when you have a roster of 29 heroes that's strange. The brick-built Bastion x2 instead of at least 1 "minifig scale" version is just the most disappoinment for me.- 20 replies

While this set is certainly better then the Blizzcon version, I dunno why they made 2 in such a short time span without an actual minifig scale one.

Fantasy themes, Elves, and how dolls got in the way.
TeriXeri replied to jemm13's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I hope minifigs won't change, I had a Mega Bloks articulated figure in the past, and I don't think it was any better then a Minifig despite more movement. It was even wider too. Turning minifigs into Battle Droids or Squire Bot designs would keep me away from LEGO more then Minidoll sets even would. (even if the Elves/Friends builds have been great) I think they should put the medium-legs in more sets however going forward, as the "kids" legs are just annoying for sitting down. -
I had some sets in my home as a kid that had those huge people built out of bricks(produced 1974-1978) Also some of those no face/arms/legs figures (produced 1974-1977) A lot certainly changed the next 40 years from that, even so, I think those pre-Minifig sets were more LEGO like then the "dollhouse" versions of Scala or Bellvile. On the other hand, I think Minidolls are a great improvement from what Scala or Bellvile tried to be, sets certainly came closer to minifig scale, and TLM2 even mixed some sets. I was in a dark age from 2001-2016 so a lot changed since, and like I said before, many of the older yellow minifig face expressions were just bad in my eyes as well, especially things like the 2001-2004 Racers... At that point LEGO itself was in some sort of crisis, no town/city theme for a few years, beside remakes. Overall like @Aanchir said, faces improved a lot after 2010/2011. I just don't like to mix the 2 types of figures, just like I prefer standard yellow faces to flesh colored ones(not counting aliens/robots/monsters from LEGO's own themes), but that's just my opinion. As long as City/Creator 3in1 makes some shops/houses I'm fine with just minifigs for now. But I do admit that I really like the builds within the Elves/Friends themes.

Would be awesome to have as a Minifig scale set. Even if it's made at a smaller/simplified scale compared to a modular. 7189: Mill Village Raid (2011) 663 pieces. Sets like this could fit either Castle or Creator these days, but I wish we got more farm/civilian based sets overall. Even if you completely leave out any Castle soldier minifigures, it could fit a City/Creator/Castle collection.

LEGO Overwatch - Wishlists and Future Speculation
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
At least 1 of each "minfigure" in their basic skin would be nice . Some characters would be a bit more complicated at proper scale. Orisa and Roadhog likely be specialized Bigfigs. Bastion would be a build using small parts (maybe special parts like they did with Star Wars droids).- 20 replies

Would have been nice, but likely priced at the same €12.99 for 3 figures, which was fairly high. At least some European countries had the magazine, which for 2018 had a Cyberbyter + cannon, Fred with purple hair + sword , Vanbyter + scythe, so that's 3 figures for a similar price as a blister pack. US/Canada Shop @ home has huge discounts on those 2017 figure packs right now: (down from $12.99 / 15.99 CAD) so get them while in stock $3.24 / 3.99 CAD for Stone Monsters 853677 $6.49 / 7.99 CAD for Knights 853676

I rather see minifig packs instead of the CMF "random" aspect. Even polybags seem hard to find here. And yes, castle should have more buildings, and not too many vehicles beyond some siege/catapults. An Xtra polybag purely focused on Castle or Pirate accesoires for minifigs would be amazing.

Space bases and vehicles that can split up are like my main interests for a space theme atm. Focus on resource gathering, or exploration, would be nice, even tho there was a time where Futuron/Blacktron 1/Space Police 1 were like good guys/bad guys/cops, and that was later continued with M-Tron/Blacktron-2/Space Police 2. Europe never got Unitron sets which were fairly similar to Futuron in concept and color scheme. , even had a monorail as well. Blacktron 1/2 and Spyrius were the "bad guys", while M-Tron, Ice Planet, and Exploriens were research/gatherers. Of course good color contrast with transparent elements would be great. A notable feature of space bases was the big use of pillars or large transparent elements to make them look a lot bigger then the piece count would suggest. I don't expect the return of magnets, but it was a key feature during the resource gathering time of 90s LEGO Space and Aquazone. I never was interested in the Mission to Mars, Alien Conquest or Galaxy Squad sets, as their designs were further off the 90s imo then like Space Police 3.

The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)
TeriXeri replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I hope City Space has some references to the old school 1979 Command Center / Rocket base, since it's an unofficial 40 year anniversary. Even if it's something simple as reprinting the space logo on a 1x2 brick, or a grille on a 1x4 brick, or a computer print on a slope. Lunar Station having a small crater build up would be fun.- 991 replies

Fingers crossed for 30 year anniversary pirate set(s). Seeing how LEGO celebrated a lot of things lately it kinda makes sense to do at least something : - 60 year of the brick (parts boxes also had some Castle/Pirate minifig accesoires) - 40 year of the minifig - 20 year Star Wars - 40 years Classic Space (unofficial, but many of the most iconic sets released in 1979) , also City-Space for 2019 hopefully has some references to that era I hope. I hope so, Emmet's Dream House is at least 1 set fitting the gap.

The Lego Movie 2 - The Second Part 2019 Set Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Seems like a direct reference to LL924 : -
It did get hacked/taken over in the actual Magazine comic , it even turned green. As far as these concepts, I feel some of it was rewritten a bit and made it into the comics, but the majority was left out. It was clearly adjusted to fit the last line of sets only, (Merlok Powers). Spoiler Alert on ending: Overall, the story was over-simplified, and the only few named minifig characters were Fred, Pola, Berserker, Cezar. Mostly due to their set-appearance.

How to tell Light Grey from Light Bluish Grey?
TeriXeri replied to Merkurius's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I remember getting 2 older style clips in my 2016 Fortrex set. So instead of the 4x 4085d , I got 2x 4085b and 2x 4085d. -
I liked Elves concept for the most part, especially the focus on actual buildings/trees over vehicles, but I am also a person that might have thought different if it were a Minifig theme instead. To this date, I haven't bought any minidoll sets, and while TLM2 started to mix them, it still might keep me from buying any of the sets with the minidolls in it. (but I also don't buy any licensed theme with pink-skin minifigs) I even think many of the Friends sets, houses/shops have great ideas/builds, but the different style of dolls, animals and stickers make me think twice. Maybe it's my nostalgia to older style LEGO, after having a 15 year dark age, that causes me only buy certain sets. Even some of the early 2000s yellow minifig faces look a bit bad to me.

2019 would also be "30 years" of Pirates sets. They just remade a very classic Pirate figure in the 2018 Employees set, so I wouldn't mind some pirate celebration set either even if it's just 1 set.
-
Great minifig set but I really do hope they also make set(s) with regular Red, Black, Blue spacemen in the near future. (maybe some more Green as well as they have been made for an Ideas set)

Where should the next People at the ____ take place?
TeriXeri replied to legoman19892's topic in LEGO Town
They were used for Harry Potter 2018 sets, so hopefully become more common in City/Creator minifig population as well.
