[PRESS RELEASE] 10265 - Ford Mustang Creator Expert
TeriXeri replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Not my style of set to buy, but that doesn't take away the fact this looks very well done for a brick-built LEGO Car set. The sequential 3-stripe style taillights are just very iconic and still used in the modern versions of the car. -
One set example where they use odd colors is the Police truck on this year's Sky Police Diamond Heist set, the red and green parts. While I can understand them using 1x4 modified tiles with 2 studs instead of 1x4 plates (to reduce stress on the 2x16 plate by avoiding 32 connected studs), still uses 8 of them in red. And the 2x2 and 1x4 plates also used in the same set in white/darkblue, yet they use some green and red ones too. Now I am not complaining, I just find it interesting choice of colors in that one vehicle build's wheelbase. Mainly noticed it via the Jangbricks video, then looked up Instructions.

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
Lego Xtra has a new sticker pack with a few Mail/Cargo related stickers. Now I don't know how much effect it will have on actual set releases as the stickers could be used for both vehicles and buildings. -
For how long will the LEGO company exist?
TeriXeri replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
When the few physical Toy stores here simply sell at or above LEGO.com prices, I never buy large sets from them. That's not LEGO's problem that sets don't sell in those stores, when online is often below LEGO.com unless it's exclusive/d2c. -
The thing with IDEAS and AFOL Designer Program is, that usually the sets that get voted highly on have huge part counts, to get to the scale and detail they have. While I can understand the "big" Castle of a wave having ~1000-1500 parts, the other sets of a wave are important too. I greatly prefer smaller towers, bridges, harbours, prisons over something like a "vehicle" set, in a Classic or Fantasy Castle theme. (doesn't include Nexo Knights) I don't mind if a small/medium sized Castle style set isn't fully closed on the backside. Now I could have used 80s and 90s Castle sets as an example instead but designs and parts use was even more different then this. (This is only focused on the buildings) ~400-600 parts : ~300-400 parts: ~200-300 parts : Under 200 parts:

I don't see the instructions as an excuse to make a part a different color. In the old days maybe, where they didn't list each part needed at each step, but now they do.
-
What do you do with your old instructions?
TeriXeri replied to Calanon's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I keep them, just like with my older sets. Even if they are on the internet now, does not guarantee them to be there in 20-40 years. -
Toy Story 4 sets are coming in Summer (Disney/Pixar). Movie in June 2019 Then there's a whole bunch of movies on the way this year. Dumbo - March 2019 Aladdin - May 2019 The Lion King - July 2019 Frozen 2 - November 2019 As far as IDEAS projects, the highest Disney related set is a Gravity Falls Shack at 7600, I never seen the show so I can't comment on that.

I often wish that parts of many sets across many themes those days were it's own seperate sold set, but LEGO already has so many more sets in the old days, I suppose it just is a logistical nightmare. Also some sets are packed in boxes way bigger then they'd need to be to look bigger for the price, an ongoing trend is that piece count is going up, size isn't. I was almost tempted to get back into LEGO Trains recently because 60198 was on a fairly big discount, but then I really saw how few sets are actually made in recent years. Certainly nothing like the 9V era (which "My Own Train" was still a part of)

I don't mind the way they can transform, while they won't have full-on monster torsos or legs, I think it makes sense going with the town being normal at day, and spooky at night. The builds/minifigs could be used for a regular Town/Creator type scene in their normal forms. But considering there's 2-3 main characters in each set, the amount of other minifigs per set is still good. Themed minifig pack with monsters could still be a cool idea for a wave 2. Or actual ghosts in different colors , Slimer was already made in 2 different transparent colors, they could use something similar with different prints.

I don't know how a LEGO Hidden Side Train thread "derailed" into a Clone/Bootleg part thread... but going by the guidelines this isn't the place for it. I am not a moderator, but it still says any discussion if at all should be at the Community section of Forum. This isn't a jab at people, just doesn't feel like the right place to me.

And some still get rejected despite being the same sort of idea. - Gilmore Girls Luke's Diner - Golden Girls Living Room and Kitchen I don't expect any new TV show set approved anytime soon. Personally I also think something like a Soyuz Rocket would make more sense to be selected compared to a Space X. Soyuz has been in service for over 50 years, and has been vital in moving humans between Earth and ISS, especially after the Space Shuttle's retirement.

Or a "Joey works at Central Perk" scene

I do agree the NexoKnights side of things had too many similar sets for the heroes where there could have been more sets based on locations on the TV show or other Media instead. Books and later Forbidden powers were retrieved from different places of the kingdom, which in itself had various biomes, but that never was made clear in the actual sets. Going full-tech wasn't the best direction for Nexo Knights, but that only lasted 1 wave in 2018, by then the TV show was already ended and the Monsters lost any sense of mystery/magic and went full digital/technological/mechanical. It even made the app world much darker and full of the black/green color everywhere.

[POLL] Third 2018 LEGO Ideas Review Guessing Game
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There certainly have been things in 2019 that might reduce the chance. Hidden Side - Diner Popcorn in multiple sets. Fairground People Pack - possible food cart. (Park had Hotdogs, Beach had Icecream) City 2019 Fire has a small Burger Bar. Xtra has an upcoming sticker set with Pizzeria, Bakery, Food Market (fruit/vegetables) Icecream stand in Toy Story set. Unrevealed big Friends sets named "Amusement Park" and "Restaurant" City Donut Shop. Creator 3-in-1 Carousel Still my favorite of the 5 Ideas sets here. Also the Xtra Food accesoires polybag is still around, for Icecream, Pizza, Apples, Carrots, Bananas, Fish, Chocolate, Cookies, Croissant, Turkey. (also ties in well with Xtra Sticker pack) -
[POLL] Third 2018 LEGO Ideas Review Guessing Game
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I see Food Stand Diners as the most likely option. While I think the Piano might be the most original, it's also very niche and a complex type of model. -
I'd like to see some Horses again, last time we saw a normal minifig horse was in a 2015 Scooby Doo set. More recent horses all have been in Friends, Minecraft or Duplo sets and use different designs. Horse could be reprinted into a Zebra as well. Maybe we get a Horse in the Amusement Park People Pack, or Creator 3-in-1 Carousel but I doubt it. Even cooler if there were to be a Horses Xtra polybag. Most realistic comeback of horses would be in a Castle, City Farm or Western theme.

Second 2018 LEGO Ideas Review Guessing Game
TeriXeri replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's what I expect due to Big Bang Theory being the closest of this type of set released, but still not a problem. I recently got some minidolls, so I'm getting more used to the variations in modern LEGO. Just it being a cafe/interior, type set is nice to see, even if they'd make it a bit smaller in the final result, it can still integrate into some City/Creator style builds. -
LEGO Ideas - Central Perk Coffee of Friends
TeriXeri replied to TheBrickPal's topic in LEGO Licensed
Hoping they'll use yellow minfigs like the original submission, but it'll probably end up like flesh toned like Big Bang Theory. Set will probably be a bit smaller but this type of set I still like a lot more then the other submissions and many previously approved sets. Integrating this into some Creator/City builds will be nice. -
Copy from the other 2018 review thread : I'm glad Central Perk made it, and now is waiting to see if they'd use yellow (most of them in the original submission) or flesh minifigs (like big bang theory) Even so, it's one of the type of sets I'd still be interested in even with flesh toned minifigs. Yellow figures would make it a more generic City/Creator type set imo however. I see some complaining about lack of Space sets , but 2017 had Women of NASA and the huge Saturn V set, and with City/TLM and even Overwatch Space I didn't expect a Space X rocket set or even ISS this soon. Now onto the next review, I'm still fully behind the Food Stand Diners set.

Wouldve been even better if they switched up the outfits a bit more on the headpieces. Still means 8 of the same hoodie/cap pieces, and potentially the same (double sided) faces. But maybe I'm asking too much as someone potentially interested in multiple sets. I do know the monster/civilian side of things is very varied, and including extra heads/hairpieces for the normal/monster versions is a good thing.

YER BEST CASTLE SET - ROUND 1 GROUP 6
TeriXeri replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
6090 to me. Royal Knights was one of my favorite eras. This set wasn't oversimplified yet, and has a lot of extra details and a great amount of horses/minifigs+ghost+skeleton, and extra shields/weapons used as decoration. I never got this set but the smaller sets of the theme were good too. I had Royal Drawbridge , Skeleton Surprise and Royal King.- 92 replies

Really the only downside to the theme is the same minifig in every single set. While I am used to 2-3 duplicates from Nexo Knights in a single wave. TLM2 had duplicates too but still varied up the faces and some outfits. This theme has 8 of the same boy and 6 of the same girl figure across 8 sets. I hope that still changes before release.

Diner certainly looks cool from the inside having a decent size kitchen build, and I don't have a problem with open backed buildings. The 2nd floor is 8x18, so pretty close to the 8x16 3-in-1 sets of recent years, so can be easily expanded. Another video of the same guys.
