True, Nexo Knights actually had a pig as pet, and a chicken meant as food next to a cookpot, but those aspects of the theme were so minor with all the robot-horses and mechs around Of course the bright-pink color was mostly meant to be cartoony, unlike other pigs LEGO had made.

I know there's a lot of negativity toward the theme, but Nexo got me back into LEGO. (after 16 years) Jestro's Lair and Knighton Castle were amazing castle sets, even while the colors weren't the usual greys. Of course the rest of theme, mostly the vehicles and mechs. The "Ultimate" sets were pretty cool for the figures+weapons, and I also did like the various shields + inserts even without the app. It's too bad year 2 had no Stone Monster castle, but the colossus set was still very large and imposing. Year 3 (2018) was a weird wave, certainly the furthest removed from Castle compared to the rest of the theme. But the tv show already ended by that time, so the story had to be cut short and I don't even know if the Magazine comic ending was meant to be Canon. That said, as for the next Castle wave, I'd like it to go back to more basic, and actual focus on structures and horses, maybe some catapult or carts or village set.

I like those little round extra stickers across sets indeed, since there's usually spare 1x1 tiles anyway and over time, I got a lot of spare tiles (I assume they'd fit on a 1x1 tile at least)

Jangbricks actually made one a few years ago:

The best thing I see that can come from this, as this could be a Theme which can cover a lot of subjects without each needing it's own theme. But that requires sets to be solid and focused on 1 subject at a time, for example 1 set would be a pirate ship, not mixed with roman soldiers or cavemen in the same set. Of course, to play it safe, I hope they'll focus on existing subjects first, like Pirates,Castle, or past themes like Vikings/Western/Egypt before going all-in to some unknown era (or only mentioned in CMF so far) Of course they can branch out and make like a Roman Soldiers set, but I don't think it should be the largest set right away until the Theme has gained some ground and not be a 1-year flop.

I don't think the bricklink data will directly have a big effect on 2020 sets, unless this negotiation/data analysis have been going on well before the official announcement.

I don't think it's scary personally, but still many uncertain aspects. It might be for many users of Custom Parts as they have to buy/sell elsewhere, but I already seen former sellers sites saying they are setting their own shops for their Custom parts, of course this will take time. Also mentioned is the data could lead to LEGO having a better picture on what (Old&New) sets still sell a lot. Overall , the same trend seems to be across multiple community websites, that there's certainly a divide on opinion and a great part of that divide also seems to between Purists and users of Custom parts. What will change for buying/selling of just regular non-custom parts and how it would affect Pick-a-Brick or Bricks&Pieces remains to be seen, before I can make a further opinion on that. Also , how MOCs and Licensed parts/sets/figures are handled still has some unknown future.

Legacy has it's own seperate magazine so I think more sets seem logical for 2020 at least.

While LEGO.com & Brickset somehow use a white 48x48 baseplate as it's first picture, the new White Classic Baseplate for 2020 is actually 32x32 as the other product pictures show.

LEGO Creator 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The upcoming Toy Shop set already looked great, even better with more review pictures. Since I collect 3-in-1 scale instead of Expert buildings, this is another addition for sure. Also has 3 of the new 1 x 3 x 3 windows in Tan, new color for a very recent 2019 part. -
LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Well, 2019 had Snow Groomer in January, and Ski Resort set in September, so getting 2 sets of a smaller subtheme in a year is possible. But if it really were an Safari Exploration subtheme, that'd be awesome, even better with a People Pack Also comparing to other exploration subthemes, those had a lot of animals in them, especially recent ones : 2015 Deep Sea had Octopus, Sawfish, Sharks. 2017 Jungle had 3 different big cats (Tiger/Jaguar/Black Panther) & Crocodiles, Spiders, Snake, Frog + Giant Venus Flytrap plants. 2018 Arctic had a Sabertooth, Mammoth, Polar Bear. 2018 Mining had Glow in the Dark Spiders. 2019 Diving Yacht had Sawfish , Desert Racer had Scorpion in darkblue. Even Police/Fire/CoastGuard sets had a lot of animals in recent times. 2016 Swamp Police had Crocodiles + Snakes. 2017 Coast Guard had Sharks + Octopus 2018 Mountain Police had a Black Bear , Mountain Lion, Snake + Bee Hives. 2019 Fire Plane had a Skunk, 2020 Fire Buggy an Owl. Otherwise, more likely, is just a play on the set number 6672 vs 6267 if you remove the zero as an easter egg. Also as a bonus, 6267 was a Pirates set but I think some of the Pirate Rollercoaster ticket booth design already was kind of based off that with the palm tree on the corner, red/blue awning, and overall style/colors, it just looked familiar from this picture. -
Haunted House doesn't have this particular shape of Sand Green brick, which the Topic Creator is talking about being the rare/expensive bricks. , Those only came with 2008 Green Grocer (56 in set) and 2011 Diagon Alley (26 in set) https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=4216&colorID=48&in=A However, Haunted House did have 72x regular 1x2 sand green bricks & quite a lot of 1x1/1x4/1x6

The Teal House is likely inspired by the Painted Ladies in San Fransisco, but the facade style on the Book Store certainly has an Amsterdam look to it, but of course those are LEGO sets with sometimes bright colors.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TeriXeri replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Maybe I'm late to notice, but the 60267 Safari Off-Roader set skipped 7 other numbers 60260-60266 (summer sets) on purpose. 60267 contains the numbers of 6672 Safari Off-Road Vehicle Similarities of both sets were already pointed out, but this set number easter egg is quite good. -
I really hope so, the last non-Nexo/Ninjago Castle set was this in 2014 via Lego Movie 1. (during my dark age) 70806: Castle Cavalry I came back to LEGO in 2016, and I did collect most of Nexo Knights, but even in that theme the last actual Castle was 2017 (Knighton Castle) , the rest were vehicles, mechs or monsters. As for era, I do hope some more traditional/nostalgia inspired set(s) (which I know is different for everyone, but for me that's the 80s and 90s sets, Falcons, Wolfpack , Crusaders, Forestmen, Black Knights, Dragon Knights, Royal Knights, Fright Knights ) I really hope we get more minifig horses again, 2019 brought back the minifig horse mould for the first time since 2015 with Harry Potter Carriage set (White) and Wild West Saloon AFOL set (Brown). Also a thing of note is that the 2019 Harry Potter Patronus Stag also uses the same 1x2 stud gap as Minifig horses, rather then the other more Friends/Disney 2x2 gap. So that mould would be amazing to see again as well. After 2018, both Nexo Knights and Elves ended, 2019 Ninjago did cover some Fantasy Castle with it's Dragons and Ice Samurai Castle, but for 2020, that theme is mostly going the sci-fi route, giving an opportunity for Non-Licensed Castle to re-appear. Ninjago Legacy continues, and even gets it's own magazine, solidifying it's place as seperate subtheme, but still shouldn't count as a full replacement for Castle either, as 2011-2013 Castle co-existed with Ninjago.

Well, back with those 40th anniversary boxes, in 2018, they did show that they can certainly celebrate multiple themes at once. Those were great, while the minifigs were generic smileys, they could be very customized with the many included minifig parts that touched upon Castle and Pirates and other themes like Divers, Racers, Space/Pilots. The suggested minibuilds as well had varied things from creatures, to Castle, Atlantis/historic underwater ruins, a mini Pirate-Ship, a Space-Shuttle, and a Classic-Space Galaxy explorer "microfighter" style ship. Compared to Classic boxes, I think those were a lot better. If they can translate this with actual sets, but with a similar formula, mixing eras and themes doesn't have to be a crazy bad thing , even Lego Movie 1/2 had Castle, Pirates and Space mixed with City and Unikitty etc.
-
Would work for me as well as I love castle (especially if they focus on some actual castles + horses) , even if it would be 1 medium-larger sized set. If it's really like 18 or so sets, Timetravel could certainly act as a big varied nostalgia theme of all sorts including Castle, Pirates, possible Space or Western, and not in the sense of Time-Cruisers mixing all themes into 1 set but seperately. With both LEGO Movie 1+2 sets showing they can be very varied in multiple genres at once, I can see this certainly possible in a time-travel theme. And from my personal viewpoint, preferably go back to the pre-2000s factions of Pirates/Castle/Space etc.

True, but seeing how LEGO is going "Legacy" a lot more now, after series 18 we got : - Ninjago Legacy sets starting in 2019 + getting it's own Ninjago Legacy Magazine in 2020 (= a way to get figures back beside just sets) - LEGO Legacy Heroes Unboxed game focusing on old but known figures, alongside CMF figures, Redbeard was even in the first shown teaser trailer. - Star Wars 20th anniversary bringing back "old" style figures in that theme. If "Legacy" is the new continued trend spreading to other in-house themes, it would be nice.

Lego Ideas Support Thread - Historical/Castle
TeriXeri replied to leafan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
A very nice, not oversized Castle for sure, ticks the boxes of Classic design as well with the hinges and way to re-arrange it. The outer walls are also fully brick built, while still remaining the scale and look of classic wall panels but better looking due to texture/colored bricks here and there. Fits well with older sets as well instead of some of those huge Creator-Expert-Modular scale ideas out there. (which are still amazing designs, but too large in my opinion, also most of them aren't Castles)- 532 replies

Lego acquiring Bricklink - Problem with 3D-printed parts?
TeriXeri replied to ScotNick's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Why would those custom parts be cut off? There are legitimate brick brands using parts in the same shape as LEGO parts, among their own shaped ones. Of course they'd have to be traded outside of Bricklink now, but I don't think it's the end of the world, but a setback. -
I am not surprised at all to see only non-custom LEGO parts allowed, and I personally have no issues with that. I think doing it this way, by blocking ALL of it, is better then allowing certain parts, yet blocking others, there was a lot of feedback from purists over Brickarms back in the day which already showed a divide. I personally would not buy custom parts/prints etc anyway so it doesn't affect me, but I can see people who are affected having to move to some other place instead. But I can certainly feel sympathy for the people who used to buy custom stuff on there. It's not like the Custom Market would be dead.

Star Wars VS In-House Space: Which do you think is better and why?
TeriXeri replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
In-house space. I don't collect Star Wars, or Licensed at all. For me, In-house Space themes up to around the year 2000 have a big nostalgia factor, and I do prefer those designs over the more rounder ones (for example Space Police 3) I don't mind those large studded surfaces or very angled designs. I especially love those neon colored cockpits and parts, which is a big reason why I liked Nexo Knights neon orange so much. The new 2020 Sith TIE Fighter actually looks very nice, but when I see that set, I also think what of what LEGO could do with the freedom of using such triangle plates on in-house ships more in the shape of a Galactic Mediator, Deep Freeze Defender or Exploriens Starship : As for Recent ships in such style, Benny's Spaceship certainly also looks very nice but that set just came out during my dark ages and I tend to not go back to "old" sets if they are off the market.
