  2. Anyone going to take a sibling/niece or nephew to Toys R Us just for the awesome parts from this Nexo Knight build? http://www.toysrus.com/shop/?categoryId=4311963 I could use the parts from this on a build and the gold domes! Those would be awesome for a micro build. Too bad, this would make me triple booked at that time on Saturday. What's with people deciding to get married when there are exclusive Legos to get.... grrrr.
  3. Checking Out the Competition with series 13 - Classic King or "Burger King" To the judges - the stickers are official stickers snipped from Lego set 3438
  4. Lucy and the Lamp post - Category A: The Faun
  5. Do you have a program recommendation for this? I have this problem with brightening just the background and not the main image.
  6. This was a creation I put together for a competition for the Lego War group on Flickr. It was my first large pirate themed diorama. I hope you enjoy.
  7. Awesome! One day I will make a castle this size.
  8. This has a lot of great elements. I particularly like the inside of the buildings. In parts on the outside the coloring looks a little motley.
  9. This is one of the better versions of modular castles that I have seen on Lego Ideas.
  10. Isn't that the beauty of Lego? We each have our own renditions of the same things we all see every day around us. I'm always up for seeing cool creations. Do you have a link to it?
  11. I am glad you all enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun to build and then to arrange all of the people.
  12. The white and gold look really nice together. Makes for a refined feel.
  13. What is behind the big blue doors? Looks like that could open into a stable or something like that.
  14. Four nations celebrate the signing by their Kings of the Great Treaty to bring peace and stability to their tumultuous lands. This is one of my entries from the CCCXIII competition and is one of my favorite that I submitted. What do you think? More pictures can be found here
  15. But then you're hot gluing 2x2 (or longer) plates or bricks to a piece of wood. I personally avoid glue and Legos. But you're right. That would work as a fairly cheap option.
  16. The baseplate way works fairly well but the baseplates are expensive and I'd rather use them for ... well baseplates. :) I've been able to pick up used long plates for fairly cheap so I prefer this way. I used to stand them on a baseplate but same problem as above plus I live in an apartment where space is veeeery limited. The wall space was fairly free so I gravitated to the frame option. The 1x2 brick with side studs is what I've used to accommodate the odd minifigures. The medusa tail being the exception in my collection.
  17. What is the best way to organize a large bucket full of minifigures? I need a way to quickly be able to find them, see how many of each type I had, and keep them from losing their parts and pieces. I'd looked at many people's minifigure display projects using wooden frames, custom made Lego cases (often using baseplates glued to a wall mount), and even Lego's official display case. However, each of these required too much money, time, or space to fully display my 400+ collection of minifigures. After some experimentation, I put together my own display option which I hope will benefit other builders who can follow this model. Using 2 by X plates (2 x 6, 2 x 16, 2 x 8 etc) and double stacking them in an overlapping arrangement, I was able to build a light way minifigure display frame. I picked up a lot of the strings with bricks on the ends from the Kings Castle set from the last castle run. It was a simple enough build I put together a wall of several frames and grouped my minifigures by theme. This made it very apparent (for planning purposes) how many of each theme I could muster to my castle armies or my pirate invasions. These work fairly well but I have found a few problems: I quickly ran out of plates to make more and now I won't be building anything requiring lots more plates For those people who are strictly into collecting, this isn't enclosed so the minifigures will get dusty over time I have a bunch of mismatching frames (black, grey, and dark grey). I have a couple more pictures here on my project page if you are interested. There I show how some of the minifigures with dresses or abnormal legs can also be displayed this way. All that being said, what do you think? Any suggestions? Why would you build a few of these over the enclosed versions or would you?
  18. When ever I see a model using this technique I think of this old rock house. I definitely something I could see a Lego merchant or tradesman living in building like this.
  19. This is my number one pick for winning the Forbidden Fortress category of CCCXIII. Well done.
  20. Hasn't Lego done post theme releases of some sets? I mean after the main run of sets, release one big one to seal the deal so to speak?
  21. My first pirate set was actually an island set. My cousins gave me 6236 King Kahuka. It was my older brother that later got the cool one -- 6271 Imperial Flagship. As you can imagine, I was ... let's say a "little" jealous. However, lucky for me, he was already "too big" to play with Legos, so I decided to "safeguard" it for him.
  22. I wouldn't mind if Lego made a blue coats version of this ship. I really missed the bandwagon when this set was available.
  23. Lego seems to be teasing the castle lovers by having hints at castles this year. I mean, we get the Angry birds castle, the castle mixels, and a really cool couple minifigures in the series 15. Please pass the real castle sets this way. I hope you are right. Otherwise, I might be in a purchasing "dark ages" for a while.
  24. Castle Themes are the best themes!
