  1. Its less than a medium latte a day until release date... most people spend £50 a month in starbucks. Drink less coffee and start a flagship-fund!!
  2. i'm very excited. Its a big price tag, so i'm hoping the details pack a punch... i usually pay about 60% of the rrp for flagships, so i reckon it could be available for £250 by about october. I'll just work a bit harder. Work harder, get more cash, buy bigger toys - thats how it works, right?!
  3. Never seen that before, and i like to think i'm pretty up on my tractors!! What is it? edit.. schlüter Profi Trac!
  4. Oh yes! the 150's are about 10mm narrower, the 130's are a little bit over-size for a 900mm wide tyre, i think scale-wise the 150's are 750mm which is fine.... good width for duels. makes me wonder whether a steiger on those should be on duels. Now that would be a beast.... i used to dream of big tractor tyres when i was 10 yrs old in the early 80's, having to make do with the 853 type tyre. very small. I'm living the dream with big tyres and a disposable income!!
  5. Bought 4 of those tyres.. turned up today. they fit on my existing 3rd party rims, i've taken a pic of standard claas tyres, my 130mm tyres and the new 150mm one side by side. New ones will be used on my next moc - case steiger. 20190125_132138 by Team Thrifty, on Flickr
  6. I agree... are there definitely clutches in there? It sounds like the teeth jumping to me. I've never taken one apart, sure somebody has, but if thats a clutch its nasty.... Update.. there is a clutch, link below. Image explains the harsh noise. Good to know! http://www.technicbricks.com/2008/08/tbs-techreview-05-technic-pf-linear.html
  7. I was only thinking about this model yesterday - how weird is that?! Does anyone remember the folded leaflet that had the fork lift, tractor, this set, car chassis and that blue go-kart? It was about 4 inches square i think... it was my first technic leaflet, ever.
  8. I really like this model when it came out, maybe i was in the minority?!! Nice to see it getting some love!! The led's interest me, (i'm no purist... pure sinner when it comes to 3rd party bits), lego light seem bloody expensive. Any info on what you used would be interesting
  9. ..which is crazy, they offer a tonne of functionality and playability. And come in multiple form factors, instead we get 'supercar' re-hashed repeatedly.. same form factor over and over. (and they never have realistic suspension, why?! if they released one with proper antiroll bars and heave springs it wouldn't be so bad.. ) Agriculture in general is very neglected. And probably construction too, backhoe is a prime flagship material. Phew. feel better for that! Off for chocy buscuit!!!
  10. Surely half the pleasure is buying and opening a big box of new lego, opening the numbered bags and enjoying the new shiny parts.... if that joy has left you, you're missing half of it!! Even if i could download the instructions and build a set from my parts (which i probably could a lot of the time), i wouldn't. I love the New Box experience!!!
  11. Certainly would... think Xerion was their best model for that though. But a jcb fast trak would be a great choice! Don't think it will be anything claas terra trac related though. that would need rubber tracks and the new part in red, which in year 1 will be yellow. I'm betting on contraction, which is still awesome
  12. Bit confused... the original didn't even have a diff on the axle's?! Look forward to seeing the internals
  13. Ooo it is!! My xerion is using 130mm wheels to give me a bigger scale, which helps a lot. In addition it allows room for diff locks on steered, driven axles.. with the standard lego wheels, not sure how it would have turned out!! Don't fear the full redesign. embrace it, thats my advice!!
  14. I've admired your 7230R before, in particular the front grill/headlights are very realistic.. makes me want to buy green lego!
  15. I've got them already.... i can feel a case steiger will be my next moc!
  16. ...Just bought 4... couldn't help myself!! Your thread is costing me money!
  17. You can go under the rear diff to get drive to them.. presuming they're mounted to mirror the real thing, pushing upwards on an arm that're linked to the main lift arms via some drop links? If they're pulling directly on the arms you'd need a different plan! 20180908_181534 by Team Thrifty, on Flickr
  18. I feel your pain... i've just spent 2 hours redesigning the 3 point on my xerion! decided to copy the axion version which i can now i've redesigned the steering modes so it doesn't use 2 racks at the back !! Its the joys of progressive refinement and problem solving!!
  19. Ha! You're right, just looked up the piece count for 42070... 1862?! is that all it had? Wow... must have blanked it from my memory, with good reason! (bwe is awesome though) Anything construction related would be very welcome.. though i always get the flagship for xmas, so i've got 11 months to wait whatever it is!!
  20. +1 And i doubt they'd drop the flagship piece count from 4k+ to 2.5k... and a car transporter isn't the wow thats needed for a flagship. There's something more to come, 100%. I half wish i knew what it was now, but half of me loves the anticipation!!
  21. Its starting to feel like a tractor now! Looking good. You've not used the long snout for anything yet, or have you plans for that?
