I think it's been a pretty good year, but I will say the summer wave of Star Wars sets has been very disappointing. Mostly just rebels sets, some Episode 7, and only one set from IV-VI that's very expensive, and not highly rated. But I liked the January wave. Droid Escape Pod and Carbon Freezing Chamber look very good in my opinion and I like the $25 price range. Aside from Star Wars, Fun In the Park and the Disney series have been great and I am looking forward to Series 16. (Don't forget the rumored UCS Death Star)

Disney Minifigure Parts Available on B&P
fatsomania replied to brickmasterben11's topic in Special LEGO Themes
But to be clear, you can get whatever as long as you're on the "Buy Bricks" section, right? -
I wonder what the Powerpuff Girls will look like in LEGO. Haven't seen any pictures. After seeing Sonic, I almost wouldn't be surprised at this point to see Mario in LEGO Dimensions in the future. (although I think there may be some licensing issues there)

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
fatsomania replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not sure if it's better or worse to live in a rural area. On the one hand, there aren't as many people that might buy the box out, but I only have one source to get my minifigures. When my local Walmart doesn't have them, that will probably be it. Glad they got them early. This is the best series yet! I'm blowing a hole through my pocket because I feel like I have to get every minifigure!- 4,155 replies

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Video Game Discussion
fatsomania replied to npgcole's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Finally, we can play as Jabba the Hutt! (I was disappointed you couldn't in the original.) That would also be great if you could play as the rancor, but since this isn't mentioned in the description, you probably can't. Then again, Jabba might be a pointless character like Jar Jar that can't even attack.- 201 replies

I know this isn't real LEGO, but you could build it with real LEGOs. Here's my version of Megyn Kelly.

Very impressive custom printing. He may look like a freaky version of Mr. Limpet but it just makes it even better!

Photoreal LEGO Rendering
fatsomania replied to Renderbricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Would this be achievable with Mecabricks and Blender? I already like it (Mecabricks and Blender) better than LDD and Pov-Ray. I've seen your renders on Mecabricks but if I'm not mistaken they're all rendered on Modo. -

3D Printed Minifig Head... Creepy?
fatsomania replied to xboxtravis7992's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Oh no! Nightmares are coming my way! They look haunted! It is a SIN to do that with LEGO! -
I'm somewhat surprised that they wouldn't process the order because it has licensed parts. I have definitely ordered licensed parts in the past and had no issues. This is one of the things I got in my last order: (excluding the head and the hair) Are you sure you were in the "Buy Bricks" section and not the "Missing Bricks" or "Broken Bricks" sections?

Darn. I guess that make sense though, having already released one in 2011 (that's still quite a while ago, though). I was hoping for a Shmi and an Episode I C-3PO.

I wonder if new clones will look like this?

I have 158 including droidekas.

Darn, didn't know you couldn't sell stuff from there (I was thinking about it). It's okay to buy Star Wars torsos and stuff though, right?

Where Can I Find Discontinued Sets?
fatsomania replied to Chilly_Productions's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Amazon can sometimes be a really good option. They have some Prince of Persia sets for near their original price. The Ostrich Race (7570) is $25 which is only $5 more than the original price. The Quest Against Time (7572) is $50, which is exactly its original price. The Fight for the Dagger (7571) is $35 which is only $5 more than the original price. Also there are two The Lone Ranger sets at good prices. Comanche Camp (79107) is $24 ($4 more than original price) and Silver Mine Shootout is $70, the original retail price. You probably won't have much luck with themes like Star Wars, however. -
I made this chart to try to see if we could predict more accurately the US price of Fun at the Park. I've got mixed results, however. Here is the chart: 60129 Police Patrol Boat ..............................................+15 75142 Homing Spider Droid ...........................................NA (most likely -5) 10565 LEGO DUPLO Creative Suitcase .......................+25 10580 LEGO DUPLO Deluxe Box of Fun .....................+15 10596 Disney Princess Collection (DUPLO) .................+5 41062 Elsa's Sparkling Ice Castle .................................+5 60071 Hovercraft Arrest ...............................................+10 75091 Flash Speeder ...................................................-5 These are all sets that cost £34.99, just like Fun at the Park according to Brickset. All the Star Wars sets are 5 less in USD. Everything else is anywhere from 5 to 25 more in the United States. Obviously it varies, but we really won't know the price of Fun at the Park until a reliable source announces it.

I'd really like to get a hold of a blue 32x32 baseplate from Bricks and Pieces. This is the only thing stopping me: "We’re sorry, but this part isn’t available to buy through Bricks & Pieces because you’ll find it in our LEGO Shop assortment. Click here to find the set this part's in." They make it look like you can buy it from Bricks and Pieces only to find out that the one thing stopping you is that there's already a set with it... that's retired . Come on, LEGO, you can do better than that!

Bricks and Pieces can be really great for minifigures sometimes. I got lots of average city torsos and one time there was a tusken raider head, torso, and legs in stock! (I wish I would have gotten it while I had the chance because the next day the legs were gone )

Didn't know it was that luxurious It's actually based off of my local swimming pool. Of course there are differences, like my local one doesn't have diving boards. But the slide is blue and the stairs are orange just like my local one.

I actually don't have a Flickr account (I want one but I don't want to have to make a Yahoo email). I have a Pinterest account (but that website is so confusing I don't know what the heck I'm doing) You can view all my creations here: http://mecabricks.com/en/library?tags=fatsomania I'm glad this model inspires you!

I heard somewhere that Fun at the Park will be released in June. All the other sets in that wave will probably also be released the same time.

I'm glad it will be coming back soon. The last time I had checked it before, under "BUY BRICKS", it just showed Pick a Brick. And what also worried me was this in Q&A: I've lost a LEGO® part and want to buy a replacement. What should I do? Try Pick a Brick if you need lots of parts. It’s quick, it’s easy and offers great value for money. Currently, there are over 1500 different bricks in 45 categories to assist you with your custom building needs. You can search by type of element, color or browse all available elements. Pick A Brick is part of the LEGO Shop and VIP members earn VIP points for their Pick A Brick orders. When I read that it startled me that it didn't even mention Bricks & Pieces. It used to say something like try Pick a Brick if you need lots of parts for a good value of money. Then it said try Bricks and Pieces for rare parts or Duplo parts (or something like that). Good to know it's going back up soon.
