  1. I'm afraid these are the only other two pictures I have.
  2. @LithuanianLegoFan Servo motors are pretty powerful - I used this on a prototype 6x6 weighing more than 3 kg. Swapping out the planetary hubs for portal axles should be pretty simple.
  3. This is beyond awesome. Love the looks, love the functions, love the video. Great use of all the different attachments, too - kinda reminds me of Sander Mulders' excavator.
  4. It looks slightly different to me, too, but I reckon it's the good ol' red that got all polished and shiny for the video. Bloody marketing hustles. So funny how many folks are moaning and groaning about the high part count, especially because some of them were complaining last year about the LOW part count in 42070, which had less than half the parts of 42082 and cost more. Come Black Friday this set'll be selling for €160 with a dumpload of cool parts - seriously, what is there to complain about?
  5. The axles are the same as in Sariel's latest Tatra, which is driven by 2 XLs, so there shouldn't be any problems.
  6. What a jaw-dropping MOC this is I hope the mods leave this thread open - a lot of the building techniques used here are ingenious, even by today's standards. Also, it's great to see Andrea himself on board now
  7. Brilliant model, both in looks and functions. I'm amazed at how well it handles rough terrain - the suspension is hypnotising.
  8. The Chiron has cool new parts. I like cool new parts. MOCing is fun. The cool new parts came thanks to the Chiron. The end.
  9. OT, but I can't let this one go: it's very cavalier to speculate about others' working conditions.
  10. I'm floored by how great this turned out - and in so little time, to boot. You, sir, are hugely talented. Can't wait to see a video of it at work and to see more models of yours.
  11. The mechanical part of the superstructure is done - now I have to figure out how to make it look at least not puke-worthy. This is a random shot of the chassis and bare superstructure (with a quick mock-up cabin) together - not joined yet, hence the crookedness! - to get an idea of the overall size and look. (The boom is a slightly modified version of the one on Gerger's Grove).
  12. Quite the unexciting update. With very little time to build and most of it wasted screwing up majorly, I more or less finished the superstructure - only to discover that the linear clutch I cooked up absorbed too much torque. So back to the drawing board (and the good ol' clutch gear) it was. Got this for now:
  13. Would this type of crane have an adjustable (tilting) cab?
  14. The differential would be mounted at an angle, like in Gerger's Grove crane. Something like this: (You can find more info on this axle on page 2 of this thread).
  15. What about this solution by Efferman?
  16. Pretty sure they're easier to mount on the back than on the front, so if they pulled off the latter...
  17. Awesome work so far! The looks and mechanics seem to be spot-on.
  18. And let's not forget about SNOT, which is especially good for concealing unwanted studs.
  19. Help out a colour-blind Brit here - is this dark blue the same as the panels on 42055?
  20. Great work mate - you always manage to raise the bar. Like others have said, seeing your work really makes me want to rebuild the set (perhaps with a few mods). Cheers, looking forward to the next one!
  21. Thanks Didumos69 & BusterHaus! I'm high-tech-illiterate so I wouldn't know what to fiddle around with on my smartphone. Fingers crossed
  22. The lag issue remains unsolved and now another one has popped up. When using two BuWizz units, they're both recognised as HMSoft, so when I use the mobile crane profile it keeps telling me that I need to connect both devices to start, even though they're both switched on and recognised. Interestingly, the same problems occur even using other smartphones, so I guess I landed two dud units.
