  1. Not so far but it might turn up somewhere in the mid year sales (perhaps along with the Haunted House).
  2. Oh boy...this along with the Castle are the lowlights of this series IMO. A barely average wagon coupled with a bit of masonry a kid would be ashamed to show off and an even worse ballista. I'll be generous and say the minifigs aren't terrible but I'll definitely be saving some money on this line.
  3. Ugghhh...that castle is hideous. I kind of like the way they did the drawbridge/gate this time but everything else is entirely forgettable, particularly with the garish blue highlights and the stupid Lion head sprouting out everywhere. The Dragon catapult is also lame...even my 5 year old described it as "stupid-looking". Some of the torsos on the minifigs are semi-interesting and the dragon armour looks cool but otherwise this is a big fat fail IMO.
  4. A pretty good deal can be had here on the Medieval Market Village: http://www.shopforme.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=34_61&products_id=375 This is an awesome and OOP set so I would recommend picking this up now if you haven't already got a copy.
  5. Any chance of some shots of the back of the torsos? I'm more liking the bad guys at this stage than the good guys, but maybe that's becuase I just can't get that fuggly lion on their shields out of my head.
  6. I like the look of the Sith Warrior but other than that it doesn't do it for me (but I usually only get OT stuff anyway).
  7. I got mine during the May 4 sale ('cause I can sell Han Solo to take a bit of sting out of the price tag + free delivery/VIP points). I'm pretty sure it's available online from a few sellers like Mightyape and Shopforme, plus Bricklink/Ebay too of course.
  8. You can get 20% off SW Lego from Toys R Us in Aussieland until 14/5. Not bad if you're looking for exclusives like Battle of Hoth, Palpatine's Arrest, Y-Wing etc
  9. I saw two Iron Man sets at Big W yesterday, plus a couple of new Superman ones. I'm more of a Batman fan myself but have to admit they looked pretty good. Nice to see Lego S@H is shafting us Aussies again on the May 4th free shipping. UK you get it at 25 quid, US at US$75 - here you have to spend AU$150. EDIT On the plus side you don't have to spend $100 on SW Lego to get the free Han Solo minifig, so maybe I will place an order and get the Arkham Asylum - with a few VIP points and flogging the Han Solo minfig on Ebay that might bring the price down to a more reasonable $200 or so.
  10. I would suggest we stop wasting bandwidth talking about Game of Thrones as a potential Lego theme - the show features gratuitous nudity, sex and violence and is thus never, ever going to be picked up by Lego (not sure what Mega Blocks' policy is with regards to licensing but I presume no self-respecting Lego fan would go there in any case). I suspect it might be that either the golden coins are more expensive to produce or the smaller sets are targeted at younger builders who are more likely to lose the smaller coins/have trouble picking them up.
  11. I haven't spotted any yet but according to this map http://minifigures.l...figure/Map.aspx 3 Mr Golds have been discovered in New Zealand so far so series 10 can't be too far away from Aussieland.
  12. I guess the AFOL collectors paying big bucks for Mr Gold should be glad that he's actually pretty ugly and of very limited use to MOCers - imagine if they'd actual made an extremely limited edition figure that was both attractive and useful as well?
  13. Toys R US have 20% off Star Wars Lego until 14/5. Probably good if you're looking to pick up their exclusives including the Battle of Hoth which they now seem to have in stock in some stores. If you're interested in Lego Lone Ranger here are the local prices. There are some awful rip offs here so even with discounts you may be better waiting for clearances or ordering overseas: Cavalry Builder (US$12.99/AU$22.99) Comanche Camp (US$19.99/AU$39.99) Stagecoach Escape (US$29.99/AU$69.99) Colby City Shootout (US$49.99/AU$89.99) Silver MIne Showdown ($US69.99/AU$119.99) Constiution Train Chase (US$99.99/AU$139.99) Finally it seems the AU price for Orthanc will be $279.99. I guess that's not too unreasonable as you'll get free shipping and a fair few VIP points with it (US$ price is 199.99)
  14. I'd say slim to none on Australian Shelves - I only saw a few copies here at Toyworld and Myers at the tail end of 2011. Some Amazon sites in Europe still have it listed so you might see if they'll deliver here if the EBay/Bricklink prices are too much.
  15. Huh? A movie called the Desolation of Smaug and no one wants Samug's cave including the titular dragon and the huge pile of treasure he's resting on?
  16. Did they have either of the other two exclusives? I was thinking about ordering some direct from Lego in the May 4 sale but might hold off if they can be found at a retailer that discounts reasonably frequently..
  17. I remember seeing this on the shelves back in the day - and believe me it was not attractive enough to bring me out of my Dark Ages back then! I have a Kenner Slave I scaled to Action Figures from the same period and it still looks great today, but you can't say the same for this.
  18. I think there's a lot of scope for a big Mos Eisley set - a decent sized-cantina, a dewback and maybe a few mositure vapourators or the MF hanger. The cantina alone would let Lego produce some nice new minifigs that have never been seen before.
  19. Not for me. I like the sets but I'm dreading the huge pile of identical Lone Rangers and Tontos I'm going to end up with. Maybe Lego would sell more sets if the heroes weren't both included in so many sets (i.e. put Tonto in a couple and TLR in a couple with maybe both appearing in the bigger sets). That way the kiddies would have to get at least two sets or one large set to get the two heroes.
  20. I agree this line is a step down from the Fantasy and Kingdoms eras, although I'll probably pick up Dragon Mountain for a red dragon to match the black I got in The 2007 King's Castle Siege as well as the interesting Wizard/Princess torsos. Gatehouse Raid screams parts pack to me + one nice set of barding. The Forest Ambush is a decent army builder. Gold Getaway looks awful. I like the Gatehouse/Portcullis mechanism on the large castle but the awful colours and preponderance of oversized Lion Heads is a big minus. Let's hope if this series gets a second wave and/or D2C set we'll see some more interesting themes/subjects investigated.
  21. My wife and I just agreed this would be our mutual wedding anniversary present this year (we got married in July). Guess I won't be needing to buy that small Saruman/Gandalf set anymore. Does Saruman have the same torso in both sets? Also does one of the orcs have a unique torso or is that just the Mordor orc one?
  22. Apparently as was Ian Holm, neither being fit enough to make the long trip to New Zealand.
  23. Also people are more likely to buy sets prior to seeing a crappy movie than afterwards...
  24. It's pretty amusing that they stick the Lone Ranger's torso on the bad guy and then spend a while speculating about why he has a sheriff's badge on and how the reason why will probably be revealed in the film... The train is a nice looking set I'll admit and I'm temped by most of the sets but the idea of a half-dozen Rangers and Tontos doesn't really appeal.
