Myer service sucks compared to when I used to work there as a student (albeit almost 20 years ago). Back then we used to have 4 staff on duty in our section every Saturday, nowdays I regularly find desks with a little placard saying "please go to counter X for service in this area" and no one around for miles. I know retail margins are tight at the moment but it's getting ridculous. I had another glance at the Lego in my local Myer after my quick, targeted strike on Friday and the exclusive stock levels were down quite a bit, although they still seemed to have at least one or two copies of each.

Finally got into my closest Myer today (Belconnen) after being confined to the house yesterday with sick kids. I was afraid it would all be looted already but they had multiples of everything in the catalog including the exclusives. Ended up mainly getting stuff for the kids plus a couple of sets for upcoming brithday parties they've been invited to. I think I ended up spending around $180 all up with the discount + extra 10% off. Dropped in to the local Kmart and they had tons of the exclusive Barc speeder and one sad-looking beat-up Haunted House left. I have to say I'm glad I got Arkham Asylum over the HH after a close look at the box, but maybe that's just personal taste.

I meant if I rock up in-store, not order on-line. I remember sometimes in the past I've had a printed coupon and other times it's given me the discount automatically. I never seem to get any emails regarding the extra 10% off.

Is there a coupon online or does it apply to all Myer One card holders automatically?

I was at my local Target yesterday and there were prominent Toy sale posters claiming they would match any advertised price (not sure about the extra 10% off Myer One customers can expect at some stage though). The LR Train and LOTOR Pirate ship will be pretty good deals at $109 minus another 10% - that's less than US RRP!

Nice enough I guess but low on my list considering there's Orthanc and the Ewok village coming out soon + possibly the Haunted House still to get. They did do a pretty good job though - I don't remember the base being tan but just did a google image check and sure enough it is.

Presuming Myer has 20% off Lego in their sale + an additional 10% off for Myer One holders then that would bring the price down to c.$43.

That Big-W catalog is pretty underwhelming - no decent discounts on any exclusives to be found. I might get the LOTOR game and the Batman DVD but other than that it looks like I'll probably be spending more at Myer this year.

I grew up with only happy Lego faces and personally never get grumpy but my kids have all different kinds of Lego faces and regularly go from happy to grumpy and back again so it MUST BE TRUE.

Would be nice if they drop the price a bit for their big toy sale but if they're selling it for $249 that's already $20 less than the RRP I guess. I wish I'd waited for Arkham Assylum too given that it will probably be $200 at Target at the sale, but it was such an awesome build I guess I don't regret it much.

If anyone is still looking for Monster Fighters Big W exclusive The Zombies I saw my local had restocked a few copies for $58 - worth checking out given that E Bay sellers are all asking for c.$120 at the moment. I thought about snapping them all up for resale but on reflection I felt a bit like a dirty scalper so I left them there for other punters to pick up at a reasonable price.

Damn you TLG - I didn't think I would be interested in an Ewok Village set but somehow you managed to create something truely droolworthy. More $$$ to you....*sigh*.

I wouldn't go that far - the only real selling point of the Kingdoms Dragon Prison was the Dragon Knight, armour, shield and barding IMO. The little model itself is pretty ordinary as are the rest of the minifigs. As a building, I far prefer the new Gatehouse.

Is there really the market out there for a giant Ewok set (it must be large if the rumoured price point is true)? I can see fans forking out for a decent Cloud City or Mos Eisley UCS but an Ewok village - the best thing that can be said about it is at least its not a Gungan Village I guess. Still, I guess the proof is in the viewing so I'll withhold judgement till we see something solid.

The highlights for me for this set are the Dragon Knight's armour and barding. The Gatehouse itself will be built once and then pulled apart and added to my castle parts box methinks. The tiny Dragon catpult is pathetic but somehow they managed to go even worse on the Gatehouse itself by adding a tiny catapult that will only ever be able to hit something directly in front of it given that it can't move from side to side at all. What were they thinking? I'm not a big fan of these sets in comparison to Kingdoms or the Fantasy era but will pick a few up for the new minifigs I guess.

Shouldn't it be "NY Love I" given Yoda's particular grammatical disposition?

I got a couple of the larger Lone Ranger sets today from Myer - worked out just a bit more than ordering from Barnes & Noble with postage included but without the wait!

I just hope that they don't go for the stylised "Clone Wars" type faces for the Rebels' sets - they just look a little bit too deformed placed with regular OT and PT faces.

My local Coles recently revamped and added a second area that contains clothes, DVDs, toys and other stuff ala a mini-BIg W or Kmart. I think the sub-store is called "Mix".

My local Coles sells some Lego and they had some of the 2011 and 2012 Star Wars sets on clearance for roughly 30% off. thought about another Droid Escape for the Sandtroopers but managed to resist.

Lego.com only at the moment, but it may show up soon at a local retailer like R2-D2 did last year at Target or the Super Star Destroyer at Big W.
