Looks like Minas Tirith is a huge problem for some people..My opinion: Building the whole city in minifig scale is impossible for an official LEGO set. Since the city is twice as high as Orthanc (I didn't know that!) it would be 1,5 meter high! No one could possibly think that lego will ever do such a big set! But it is not necessary, since some of you already mentioned, not all buildings and vehicles are comparable in size. What is important is playability and the recognizable shape. One major issue about Minas Tirith that it is a half-cone attached to an almost vertical surface. Even if TLG built it, they either had to use millions of grey bricks for the mountain, making a huge cavity in the middle of the structure, or leave out the mountain completely, but that case there would be a huge “hole” inside which would be hard to access and hard to be seen. (Telling the truth, I could never imagine what's inside Minas Tirith? Streets and buildings lit by torches? A huge dungeon? Or does the city follow the shape of the montain?) Maybe they could build it so that it could be opened in half using hinges, but still it would be huge. But acceptable alternative would be just building parts of the city, as mentioned by others as well. I’ve found one nice looking MOC that shows the citadel with the steward’s hall, the White tree and some buildings: But in a smaller size maybe, or with leaving out the long part. Others ideas: - The gate with the huge battle ram, Gondor soldiers, Pippin, Gandalf, orcs - The tower with the fire to signal for Rohan with Pippin and Gondor soldiers

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion

How is it possible that you can bring back the minfigs without any justified complain or something? For me it is so unfair that you can bring them back , saying "thanks for letting me search for the right minifigs for free, making yourself impossible to sell the remaining figs for other customers while they were at my home!" If you need a fig, take your time in the shop, but don't do damage to other people!- 1,076 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion

But how can you distinguish a realisticly painted terracotta soldier from a real ancient Chinese warrior? You cannot see the material (clay or leather/flesh) in lego, it would be just plastic :) -
Collectable Minifigure Sightings & Availability
Yooha replied to mo123567's topic in Special LEGO Themes
A Hungarian unofficial lego store found TWO Mr. Golds when they opened several bags fr their build-a-minifig wall. Now they are in the middle of a huge flame-war: Many customers say that this is slap in the face to many fans who now won't have a chance to find those particular guys. The store says that their intention was not to find Mr. Gold, they will display it, and these minfigs wouldn't have been sold as a whole to customers anyway. But why didn't they check the bags before open it? And the big question: How many fans have a chance to find Mr. Gold after all, if the employees will search the bags before them? My opinion is that even though most employees in lego stores are AFOLs, this case they must stay out of this campaign and mustn't take advantage of their chance to search all the boxes. It is like football referees mustn't have a favourite football club in order to avoid prefer them during a match. I wonder what TLG's opinion about this question. I'm afraid we will never find it out. -
A guide to feeling for LEGO Minifigs Series 10
Yooha replied to CopMike's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great guide, however many professionals already knew these techniques. I just realised that there are no skirt-bricks in this series which would have helped to exclude some female-figs. For me the revolutionary soldier's and the mechanic's headgear are similar. I could only feel that it's like a ponytail but didn't know which, even though the mechanic's "ponytail" is shorter. But of course the wrench gave him away. Man, there were so many wrenches in that box I tried and I'm so not interested in that guy. And there was a highyl mysterious part I couldn't identify for minutes! It felt like a small rod with some thicker ends, like a lightsabre hilt or wheels of a skateboard. At one end, it had 3 small spikes like a mace. You know what it was: The Trendsetter's chihuahua. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion

The minifigs arrived to my home town – after the early sightings in March, which lasted only for a few days. I had a chance to go through an unopened box, after the shop clerk checked it for Mr. Gold, but there was no sign of him. At least that’s what shesaid I was looking for the sad clown and the sea captain, among other figs, but those two were the must-haves. By the time I’ve found one each of them I checked nearly 40 bags! Those were approx. the following: medusa 1 sad clown 1 sea captain 1 roman commander 2 warrior woman 3 bumblebee girl 2 decorator 2 baseball fielder 3 tomahawk warrior 3 grandpa 1 revolutionary soldier 2 trendsetter 2 librarian 1 paintball player5 mechanic 4 skydiver 4 The trendsetter’s and the librarian’s hair are similar, so I’m not 100% sure which one was which, but I could feel the mug or the dog. The rev. soldeir’s and the mechanic’s headgear is similar as well, but there were many wrenches. And the seagull is rubber-like, what I didn’t know.- 1,076 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
Yooha replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It looks to me as if JeagerEX's account had been cracked. Yes, on the picture in the Brickset article, Mr. Gold is in a transparent plastic bag. Why if it was in a regular bag? And finding these rare minfigs would be "too easy" if you could just feel them in the bags. So maybe they codes are in regular minifig's bag? Holy cow, I bought two minifigs and I just throw one of the pamphlets into the garbage! I hope it was not a "special" one. Making a long story short, we will have to wait a couple of weeks to have more data coming in, more and more people reporting how they have found Mr. gold to see, how this thing work. OR there is a statement in the pamphlet that every one who finds the code has to make a holy oath that they mustn't speak of it...- 1,076 replies

You mean series 10, I guess (It would be funny to missing a whole series and matching 16 different minifigs for the same colors)

Hi Everyone! After the tremendous success of the first guess-the-CM-series-by-their-colors puzzle, I try another one. This time, every minifig in a series is represented by 3 colors, which makes it easier to solve, I hope. There are some rules/hints, which help you: The three colors from top to bottom are: head(gear)/torso/legs. No accessories played any part. If the head is yellow – which is for most cases – then the color represents the headgear, unless the head is yellow and there is no headgear, but this case is very rare. If the head is not yellow, then the color represents the head for most, but not for all cases! The torso color is the base color for most cases, but sometimes I wanted to show the color of the arms or the printing color for the torso, because if the torso color had been always the base color, many minifigs would have been one-colored– for instance the butcher in CM 6. I wanted to avoid it. If there is only a little amount of other color in the torso, than it isn't shown. Where is the limit between lot and a little? The waiter is plain black, but the man-bat is not. For the colors, I tried to use the official colors. I used the color tones I found here: http://www.peeron.com/inv/colors The list is a little bit incomplete; it misses medium azure or light aqua for example, I found those colors at other places. I didn’t find the official colors for the molds for series 10. This time I just picked the colors I found appropriate according to the CGI and real-life pictures. For gold and other metallic molds, I found it hard to reflect the “shininess” of the surface by only an RGB code, so those colors maybe don’t look so good. The hockey player’s torso has a unique color. Maybe TLG’s intention was white, but the logo on him has a very light bluish color I couldn't identify. Since I found this puzzle easier then the previous one, let the solutions be harder. In posts, please tell me not only which bunch of color is which series, but tell me the order of the minifigs in it! For some cases, there is more then one minifig in a single series with the same order of colors. In that case, there is obviously more than one solution. To make the fun even longer, please send the solutions of only two series at most in one post, and wait some time after that for other members to post other solutions. I try to update this post as solutions come in, so you can see which ones are solved. Edit: The best about doing this puzzle was to learn how many colors there are in the lego world. So many brown for example! Good luck! UPDATE: Solved: Top row, 2nd and last on the bottom row. Read the posts if you want to see them. Won't put the solutions here if you still want to play. (upside-down minifig corrected)

50% and since I tell you which one is right, the remaining two are obvious, consider it solved! Next puzzle (an easier one) coming soon..
-
I cannot follow your solutions so fast The last three guesses were all 50%. The solved squares are these: 4 ? ? 8 5 9 6 ? ? 2 (1,3,7 and 10 are missing) Added to the first post.

Yes and yes!

Yes it is! I'm intending to make an easier one: three color for each figure, mostly head/torso/legs, doing with the exactly same color for the same LEGO color. Hm, the color tones now are quiet arbitrary, I admit it. But some hints: Mr. Gold is not part of series 10 in the quiz. Beside him, gold is very rare, and it doesn't stand together with any yellow. Very light colored squares are for figures where tha main color is white. Which series contained many white-based figures? Colors close to yellow are yellow. Which are close to orange (there weren't too many orange based minifigs) it is orange. A yellow head won't make a square yellow, because it's very common. Yellow squares mean "more" yellow (torso/leg?) Which series had many browns? Disco Stu is not white. He had a more "discoisch" color, I chose that. One series lacks yellow based figures, but there is one colour which is quite frequent there. And there is one other thing: Even I don't remember, which little square is which figure! I only know which series is which. No they are not, I thought that would be too easy. Was a big mistake from me..

Lego Collectible Minifigures by Nationality

ResIpsaLoquitur's list is pretty much the same as mine would be, so count me in. The many "could be from anywhere" is valid to me. Okay, maybe not "anywhere" but "many countries", because there are not too many Hockey Players in Somalia And they are definitely not repeated 160 times though And uhm, according to wikipedia, Tyrol is an area in Austria and..oh, northern Italy! But no Germeny or Switzerland is mentioned. (with your attitude, you would be torn into pieces on a Hungarian forum though, these guys here are so more patient!) -

Lego Collectible Minifigures by Nationality
Yooha replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I guess this whole conversation start to move away from LEGO's original purpose: FUN! Even thought I found many of these explanations about some nationality of these figures (who invented, who won the most) arbitrary, why not just leave someone, who spent so many time with this research happy with his findings? There shouldn't be any 'must's in this topic "you should have followed a more simple pattern". If someone thinks that a skier is Swedish to HIM, than it's okay for me. I never wanted to tack some nationality on every minifig, but if this makes someone happy, why not. But this only my opinion.
