REVIEW: 71001 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10
Yooha replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Mr. Gold won't be an easy find anyway ;) But I know what you mean Mr. Gold's bio on the lego site confirms this, namely that "he may be discovered in all sorts of unexpected places, but he never seems to turn up exactly when and where you’re looking for him".- 114 replies

Lego Collectible Minifigures by Nationality

Australian: A man in safari outfit with those "assymetric hat" and a boomerang. Or with a baby kangoroo. http://museumvictoria.com.au/collections/itemimages/226/872/226872_large.jpg Or a Crocodile Dundee-like figure with a HUGE knife and a baby crocodile. And New Zealand is not Australia!!! (I mean the country) -

I hope Sean Connery won't read this because he will be offended strongly: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_people "The Scottish people (Scots Gaelic: Albannaich), or Scots, are a nation and ethnic group native to Scotland." I guess they are a nation so they do have nationality. I know you didn't write England but UK, that's why I wrote "not only British", not "not British". Scottish people are British of course, beside being Scottish. And definitely not English :) But a UK citizen will surely correct me if I'm wrong. And I think UK is not a nation. UK is a country, people living their are British and I think must of them distinguish themselves as Englishmen, Scottish, Welsh, etc... But using a more "simple" example, Italy is a country, Italians (like you) living there are the Italian nation together. So Italy is not a nation as well, the people are. Hungary is not a nation either. Hungarian is. And yes, I didn't know which proffesional was invented where, and I didn't say that you are wrong. I just said that these are not well known pieces of information. Noone sees a modern weighlifter saying "oh, a typical greek!" Peace! -

I have to admit, most of these nationalities are quit "forced" to me. There are nurses, clowns, weight lifters, ringmasters, etc.. everywhere, but noone knows where these professionals were "invented". OK, ninja, forestman, or maracan man is connected strongly to one country or nation, and it would make sense to count only those, but most of these minifigs don't, no offense. It is like making a statistic, how many minifig's official name starts with letter "a", or seeing a color pattern in every series Thanks for Houdini though. UPDATE: Oh, I read the whole list after all. Although a still find it forced, it is good for learn such things as the place where surgery was invented, or that Frankenstein's monster wa german. Was "it" put together from german corpses or what? Some notes: Which country is HAI for the zombie? I couldn't find it out. Forestman = Robin Hood who is definitely English. (lack of highlight only) The Lumberjack is Canadian to me. The Highlander and Bagpiper are not only British but Scottish! -

Great series (but series 4 is still my favourite ) and great review. Is there a chance that the basebell fielder can grab a 1x1 round plate with his hand?- 114 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
Yooha replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Originally, barbarian were the people who lived north from the Roman Empire and were beard (more or less definition). I expect something like Conan, but it would be similar to the Jungle Boy with a sword, so it wouldn't be so exciting. But a terracotta warrior - medium nougat or similar from the top to the bottom - would be awesome! -
Hello Everyone! I would like to play a game, or you can call it a psychological experiment as well. Since several Collectable Minifigures series had been introduced, I can’t help thinking that every series has a specific “tone”. In some series there are many figures with a white ground color, while in other series many are dark. I guess it was not intentional from TLG, but it is there I think. I wondered how I could interpret it, and I decided I will make a 4x4 “palette” from each series. In every palette one color represents one minifigure. Deciding which color should be used for a certain minifig, I used the CGI image of the series, and picked ONE color for each figure from it. So these are not official Lego colors. In many cases the choice was pretty clear: the Lizard man is green obviously, but which color to use for the small clown? Red, blue or green? Sometimes this one color is a mixture of the specific colors of the minifig – I didn’t want to use plain white color for many minifigs. Doing these palettes was great fun, after each one I felt satisfied, thinking “Oh yes, it really looks like the essence of the series. However, putting these palettes next to each other for this post, it seemed that there are many similarities. But if you look them thoroughly, you will see that all are unique. And this is what I ask from you: Guess! Which one is which? Maybe some of you – or all of you – think that this guy has lost his pills. “What is he talking about?” “These are just a bunch of colors!” But I do hope, that some of you will have a great time solving it. 4 1 7 8 5 9 6 3 10 2 SOLVED!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
Yooha replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
If we assume that the namelist is valid - it was for previous lists - I just noticed that there are only 4 names that are definitely female: lady robot, bavarian lady, grandma and dinner waitress. If there will be at least 5 ladies here, which one can be the 5th? It occured at previous series that a female had a "non-gender" name like the surgeon or the swimming champion, so I think the 5th is hiding somewhere :) What I can imagine are the mountain climber or the holiday elf (or a female jazz musician manybe? ) -

Series 4 appeared in Hungary on 1st April, days after they did in western countries. Series 7 hit the stores in April as well. (and the present is the 1st case they appeared in Hungary first). Oh, favorites: Sad clown - someone suggested it to be a future CM months ago, and I thought "Oh my god, that would be so great!" But I don't know why. I liked the other black-and-white figure as well (the mime that is). Sea Captain - for that turtleneck torso Medusa - another suggestion by someone, another dream came true Least favorable: skydiver, librarian, mechanic- 1,076 replies

The only place I saw the bird dropping is the speculated picture, according to the new elements on brickset: http://toysnbricks.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/LEGO-Minifigure-Series-10-Collectable-2013-Pre.jpg Which was not official at all, and had many "mistakes": Medusa had legs, the tomahawk warrior had the spear, but without the tomahawk, etc..- 1,076 replies

I bought the Centurion and the Medusa just in the morning. The Medusa is easy too find. I guess that's the only bulky bag. The minifig's "axis" is perpendicular to the bag's plane, so the long tail is downdards int he bag, not backwards.- 1,076 replies

It looks like the tricorn is floating in air before the fig! Is there a 1x1 round plate under the tricorn? Okay, in that case he can hold it of course.- 1,076 replies

Personally, I think they won't put a tricorn in the bag, although I hope they will. If we want to make an explanation, why it is possible to have a tricorn despite the fact that other hairpieces were shown on the picture for the Daredevil, etc.. here is one: Lego minifigs can't hold a tricorn in their hands, but can hold a helmet. Even for a CGI picture, it would be difficult. So, how about that?- 1,076 replies

But a left-handed minifig can't use an object with their right hand, even if you put there! Seriously, I was just curious. And I don't really know, if during the designing of the CGI of the minfigs does one take into consideration with which hand the minifig should hold the objects.- 1,076 replies

Being a left-handed, afterwards it is strange for me that I never thought of that. But seeing the earlier waves, there were several left-handed minifigs. At least 2-3 in a series, which is more than the common ratio of ~10%.- 1,076 replies

Are there any data, how many boxes of CMs had been produced or sold from earlier waves? How frequent the 5000 minifigs will be? One in every 100/1000/1000000 boxes?- 1,076 replies

Fried Chicken Stall And that one was the last one, for now at least. I designed all the buildings I wanted or I could. I know there were only a few roller-coasters among them, but telling the truth they are very similar and building the umpteen train and station wouldn't have been fun. I enjoyed the stalls and other rides much better! I hope you enjoyed this series, and I know some of you started to make these buildings in brick form. If I find some inspiration in another game/movie/other field of life to build them, I'll be back.
