The two used in the nose and the one used in the very tail could be 2l liftarms. But the four used at the bottom of the b-pillars should be (0x)-pieces. You could use black ones there.

When looking at the side inage of the model, I still think the nose is too long and I think the use of those fender panels in the front make the hood look too flat. Nevertheless, I still like the whole model a.lot. I fear my budget for next year will be spent this year . -
The dog bone's main function is to reduce torsional flex and I doubt if using two separate pieces would have the same effect. But if it's good enough, feel free to make this change yourself and post about it here. Nice pictures! I agree it would be nice to have bodywork that can be demounted easily. The reason why I did not invest in such a thing is that - too me - the interwovenness between body and chassis adds to the overall rigidity of the complete build. If I would make the body demountable while holding on to that interwovenness, I believe it would be a pain to remove or install it. But you could give it a try yourself and share your findings . Update: @technic_addict, @kbalage, @bj51, @ifilin, @Zerobricks, @Permo, gave the whole 'Migrating to SBrick'-plan a little more thought. I'm sorry @bj51 and @ifilin, but I think I will stick to the BuWizz's. What really annoys me, is that quite a few people are having issues with BuWizz and that BuWizz is not really giving the support they should. However, this model was built around BuWizz's. I did all the testing and fine-tuning to make it's rigidity and sustainability match the power of 2 BuWizzes. And when the BuWizzes connect properly - and I have found a way that works for me - it is so much fun to drive this buggy around in ludicrous mode. Besides all that, switching to SBrick and LEGO battery boxes (LIPO or not) would add so much weight, it would undo all my efforts to reduce weight. I also feel an urge coming up to get my hands on those new 42083 parts and start tinkering with them. Time for something new. So for once and for all: This model is done (mainly addressed to myself). And sorry for the confusion. @technic_addict, this should also speed up the process of making instructions. That will be the next step.

Thanks! It depends on what you want. If you want power, BuWizz is the way to go. If you want complex configurations, I'd go for SBrick. I see more issues being reported with BuWizz, but so far I managed to handle the issues I experienced. You should only go with BuWizz if you like being a pioneer . Thanks! I'm glad you like it.

I've been playing a little with how to take advantage of the new parts. I tried making a compact sequential 4-speed gearbox layout and so far this is the most simple solution I could come up with. It's still not that easy because to take full advantage of the new orange selector, the driving rings cannot be placed on opposite sides of the gear selector. To take full advantage of the new 20t clutch gears, the gear ratio between the two driving rings needs to be closer to 1:1 than the 20:12 ratio made by the new clutch gears. In this case I used 16:20. Ratios are: 4:5, 1:1, 4:3, 5:3. Green is input Yellow is control Red is output -

In the first seconds of this video you see a black knob wheel and next to it an orange (0x)-piece with a pin-with-tow-ball inserted. I suppose the knobwheel will control the 4-speed gearbox for every shift and the towball will control the 2-speed gearbox every 4 shifts. EDIT: I'm still not sure how the gearbox works. Theoratically, it could run through 16 different positions with 2 selectors each controlling 2 driving rings. -

It's a mistake to assume each orange selector controls 2 driving rings. One is only controlling one driving ring. The 20t clutch gear drives the same axle as the 16t clutch gear at the other end of the driving ring. So I don't see how the 20t clutch gear would make the reverse. I think it's a plain 8-speed gearbox. Sorry, I think I was wrong. I think there are 4 driving rings. The one underneath that is not visible in the photo, seems to be slightly visible in the instructions in the background. At one side it seems there is a yellow clutch extension or something like that. That would make sense for a reverse. So I think it is 7+R after all. -
Thanks! The dog bones along the sides of the trailing arms are indeed a bit out of color, but any other solutions would be less stiff. In this case I did't want to make any trade-off towards aesthetics. Using BuWizz as a battery box and SBrick for control sounds nice, but I would still have to connect to the BuWizzes with the BuWIzz app and turn them to max power with some control and then switch to the SBrick app.

They show the opposite side and show there is only one driving ring on the most visible side; there is no driving ring underneath the orange selector on that side. Images in my bricksafe. -

Okay, this new orange part makes it very easy to translate 90-degree rotation steps of a shift-axis into driving-ring positions. I think the gearbox only has 3 driving rings btw. In the back of the image you see a four speed gear box with 2 driving rings and in the front you see a two-speed gearbox with 1 driving-ring. EDIT: Also the instructions in the top-right corner of the overview image show only 3 driving rings. That is enough for an 8-speed gearbox. Now I wonder how the shifter works. EDIT: I fear it has a row of 16t gears (clutch and normal) to divide the input over multiple axles, just like the Porsche had. In the Porsche this was an important source of friction. All images in my bricksafe btw. -
Gearbox looks indeed quite compact, but where's the shifter. Would like to see it work now that you have the smooth 3L connectors.

Thanks! It appears the LEGO rechargeable lipo's are the lightest alternative. Also @Marxpek's note about attaching 2 L-motors and a service to a single power source in the other thread pointed in that direction. But it's still significantly heavier than 2 BuWizz's and will only give me 7.2 volt. Altogether this is not making things easier. I have to take some time to think about my options. If only @Ron1 would be a bit more responsive to the issues reported in the BuWizz thread so we know they are being addressed. @kbalage, you seem to be a BuWizz ambassador as well, don't you have some influence?

Thanks! Thanks! Well, in case of my 4WD Buggy, weight is imporant, not so much becase of the speed, but because of the suspension. I spent 2 weeks to reduce the number of parts by 200 (and the wieght by 110gr), which made quite a difference as to how deep the model sits in its suspension. It would be a pitty if migrating to SBrick is going to add that same weight again. Two AAA batery boxes with batteries and 2 SBricks are going to add that same weight again.

Yes, what we need is a programmable Bluetooth controller, one that you can upload profiles to from a PC, so there is no need for an intermediary device. It would be awesome to see both models driving around side by side. There must be a way to realize that.

I'm in the process of migrating my 4WD Buggy from BuWizz to SBrick + PF AAA battery boxes. I would like to know how much extra weight this is going to add. Does anybody know the weight of a BuWizz 2.0. I could check myself, but would be quite a hassle to remove one. Maybe someone with an unemployed unit laying around could check the weight?

You know from personal experience? I always have location turned on, but GPS is only activated when some app is using it. You really mean GPS should be active? EDIT: @Zerobricks, I just tried with GPS active in the background, but it makes no difference. Connecting with my phone requires many attempts. Once connected, it works fine.

Thanks @technic_addict! I intend to leave as many as possible options open. I just don't want this model to be associated with BuWizz by default. The default will be SBrick. You will still be able to try what you intended with a few minor tweaks. Did you already try to control your BuWizz with the XBox one? I suppose you want to you use the Brick controller app for that. My fear is that you will introduce too much lag to control this buggy.

I had similar problems when I used my IPad mini. Indoors it worked fine, but outdoors it disconnected all the time. It works better with my Android phone, but that one has problems connecting to two BuWizzes. Have to try to connect about 10 times before it works, but once it connects it usually does not disconnect. Recently I found out that when the BuWizzes have just been turned on, my phone connects immediately. So that's what I do now. I also tried with the Brickcontroller app, but that introduces lag. Not much, but enough to make a fast vehicle uncontrollable. It made me drive my 4WD buggy into a trench filled with water.

I have been thinking about this for a few weeks now and I didn't think I would actually come to this decision, but I'm going to move away from the BuWizz path. The issues people are experiencing and - more importantly - the complete lack of customer support from BuWizz, conflict too much with creating an advertisement for BuWizz by releasing this model 'as is' on Rebrickable. If BuWizz refuses to change its customer service level, I will eventually also remove my BuWizz videos from Youtube. So, before I will make this model available to a wider audience, I will migrate to the use of 2 LEGO PF AAA battery boxes combined with 2 SBricks. I will have to lift the seats by half a stud, but I don't see that as a very big issue. For people that have been anticipating to build this model with BuWizzes, don't worry, using BuWizzes will be an easy mod. I will continue sharing the LXF-files of the model with BuWizzes.
