  1. You have to store the image somewhere online (flickr, brickshelf, ...) and than use the url of the image from that site. EB does not allow you to store images apart from your avatar.
  2. The second to make contact was Karin. She was sent to Bothawui on a espionage mission. We knew that Bothans are very close to rebels, so sending a pack of stormtroopers there might be a suicide mission. Of course for a reasonable price we have some reliable contacts there too. Karin: I've met the contact you told me about. MstrOfPppts: And what is the status? Karin: Boba was not yet here, but is certainly planning to stop here for a quick refuel. MstrOfPppts: Good, you should lay low and wait for him. Give him the card and get out of there. Karin: Understood. But this planet is overwhelmed with the rebel spies, I might try to get some information about our next mission. MstrOfPppts: No, It's too dangerous ... <transmission interrupted> ... Karin? Goddammit that woman will bring us nothing but trouble!
  3. Thanks everyone and ofcourse I have to give credit for the border idea to LegoFjotten who used it in episode III I think ... Yes there might be some lack of blue, but the huge daisies should be blue and the wheels don't exist in that color. About the more undergrowth, I think it's fine as it is, since I really went for the deserty part of the planet with only huge flowers sticking out of the ground. After a bit more research and image searching I do think there's plenty of different possibilities to depict Felucia. Mostly anything but the ordinary Earth forrest / jungle would do! P.S.: could a mod squeez Felucia in my title please :) - [soNE Ep. VI] Felucia - Mad jungle search
  4. Glad to see the return of the interviews! It's nice to learn more about people around here. Congrats to Markus on the win, though I think it was obvious since his builds were getting better and better each round.
  5. Dear SMC, with all due respect, but you're starting to be annoying. You are trying to force your opinion about a minor thing on this forum despite a dozen of people telling you you're wrong or that there's too much fuss to make it work. I too agree that the Lone Ranger should be in history, the rest is fine with me. But saying your opinion is one thing, keeping to it and arguing about it at all stakes is another. Look what's become of this topic that firstly seemed quite interesting. People stopped replying to any questions and there's not much feedback staff can get from this thread, because it seems that the whole purpose of it was your disagreement with the forum structure. And if that's it, then you were justifiably scared about creating it in the first place, because it leads nowhere!
  6. Although it seems that the majority of entries have already been submitted, I'll still ask again if there's any chances to extend the deadline?
  7. I think that if we asked a number of people what their favourite forum structure would be, I think that we'd get that many distinct answers. So as you see, there's no point in changing things that most of the users already got used to, even though it sometimes doesn't make the best sense. To fulfil everyone's wishes really is impossible.
  8. Thanks for a nice review! I really like the new Genie / Dino hunter hair piece. I'm happy about the new / old distribution, but of course they have to mess it up again. Army building the pigglets and gamers instead of the hun warriors and battle godesses is not such a bright idea in my opinnion. P.S.: The video doesn't work for me either. It sais it's private ... It works now!
  9. Very interesting topic and I think I'll add my point of view here! This might become a long read, so please be patient! First of all I'd like to mention that I really love this site and must say that it's one of the best out there! BUT, the quality has been slipping a bit, just like the one of the LEGO bricks. As it's already been mentioned I too think that the age control is lacking and that there's been too many under aged participants lately. You can clearly see that in posts/topics contents quality and that is the most disturbing thing to me. I've noticed users that have joined in the past half year or so, and already have more posts than I have. It's not the problem in the post count, it's a problem in those posts content / quality! On the other hand, it's a bit of a double-edged sword. Since users under the age of 18 were already left in it's most fair to give everyone a chance. But the control of that take a ton of effort so I guess it'd be best to strive to the 18+ forum EB used to. I really wouldn't like to name and shame, but I'll point out two examples anyway, although it'll be clear who the culprits are: Once a member came and introduced himself something like "Hi, I'm XY and I'm 16 years old". Then a mod comes to the topic and says "Hi and welcome". A few others welcome him and then another mod comes in and ... BAN! Sorry but you're too young. Although I have no problem with the mod's action, I found it funny how two mods acted differently. I know the user did wrong telling the age, but then on the other hand there are plenty even younger not saying so and almost spamming the boards. One of them (not spamming) is even one of the better builders around as far as I know ... The other example are some stupid conversations like "the oldest version of a particular model is the best". I mean who the megabluck cares!? But on the contrary, that topic reached 5 pages, for the fact that the creator did 1/5 of posts adding fuel to it. Despite his nickname clearly implying he's a stubborn kid, whom you could never convince that another brand is in fact a far better choice! In general, I think that lately people strive too much to conversations and most preferably arguing than to MOCing and especially the constructive criticism / praise of the MOCs! That was just a quick thing that bothered me the most and now to answer the interesting questions, which of some I think are completely unnecessary for being so clear. Although again, the poll results surprise me quite a bit ... Would you like to be more involved in how decisions are made on eurobricks? I think it works well as it is! The staff are doing their best and I think the team is a nice mixture of wise men and women. Sometimes there's a shortage in their ranks and I think that new users are often coming in. But first it's important that you prove yourself worthy. As for the DC/Marvel thing the OP has pointed out, I think that the mod decided for that for the fact, it was clearly asked for in the last year's combined thread. It was also said it's an experiment and if it proves wrong it'll get merged again next year. Otherwise you could make a poll and open another endless debate about it. Also the results might be very tight in the end, so sometimes it's also important to check who voted for each option. But is there really a good criteria who the wise guys are. The democracy has proven wrong so many times lately, since too many people are manipulated and most of the "wise" ones don't participate in voting, knowing that nothing can be changed. Ok, too much philosophy here already, but it all leads to a conclusion, that some things are best to just be chosen by a mod. In the end, he was put to that position with a reason! How do you find the moderating on eurobricks I think that sometimes the staff are being too polite. They give way too much effort into telling people to stay on topic (check next two questions) especially in the rumors and discussion thread. Sorry guys, but for me, those posts count as spam / off topic too. I don't encourage the off topic discussion here, even more, I encourage the staff to use the TAKING THE BREAK function more often, since it's all the same people arguing about the same things in those topics. Should we start a new topic for a subtheme each year (i.e LOTR 2014)? I don't really care about this one, but I think that it's really a nice idea to have a separate thread. Which topic to use is really clear!!! If the set was or will be released in the year that is in the topic title, than that's the right thread. If it's not about any set, simply don't post! Or go to the community forum! See next question ... Is it important that people stay on topic Yes it is extremely important to stay on topic. At least when it comes to rumors and set discussions. As I've said there's to many people trying to argue about things that don't even concern the LEGO sets. It's OK to do so, but use the right (community) sub forum for it! I'm really fed up with reading how PJ is destroying the plot of the books and about what people would like to see come out in the rumors and discussion topics. If there's nothing to write about, then you just don't or as said, go to the community forum and chit chat there. It's the reason I completely stopped reading those topics and follow the set news on other pages, which I think is not the goal of EB ... Do you care about spelling, punctuation and text speak? Yes! This is one of the most important things that distinguishes a quality forum from an average forum. If that is not your opinion, you are clearly either under aged, lazy or just don't give a shit. And in either way as such, you don't belong to a forum that strives towards quality and mature audience. (You is not pointed towards the OP, but the reader) Would you like a topic for each level (i.e. Knight, Count) that you can only see once you have reached that level This might at first sound as a great idea, but on a second thought I doubt it'd work out. What would be the point of it anyway. As for the under aged users problem, some 10+ years old AFOLs that don't post much would be stuck with the 3 months old Knights / Counts, that have nothing smart to say. And what would you discuss in those forums anyway? Nothing you can't discuss elsewhere or would you just double the interesting topics for a more mature conversation. Which as already said might not be the case anyway. So I think it's just best as it is. Keep it to the staff and fellows / ladies hidden part and that's it. Are topics locked too often Yes they are, but not in a way the question was meant. In the last past months there's been plenty of topics locked and none that I remember deserve existence. They're just taking the first page space and although they go down, they go too slowly. I'd prefer that most such topics were just deleted, but I guess that EB policy is different. Usually they just delete the bot spam and lock all the rest of the nonsense ... Lastly I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work Of course! Thanks for a great experience guys. I really wonder who the grumpy one is. This should have been a public poll, I guess that'd change the answers to that question ... P.S. And another thing I remembered. It's more of a visual thing, but why the more posts you have, the more gayish your star color gets? But on a more serious note, I think that since having a ladies group to distinguish a female user, I think that something similar should be done for the staff members and female fellows. It's not really a big thing but now you can't tell the difference and referring to a female staff / fellow as he might be embarrassing ...
  10. Haha, this really gave me a laugh. I knew it was Google translate all along. You Germans have such a funny word order in the sentences, It's sometimes hard to understand the translation. I think you should get this translated by someone who speaks both languages, there's plenty on this forum that might be willing to help. But anyway I greet your effort to write so much althoguh your english isn't that well. All the creations are gorgeus, I'll comment on each later. I really like your consistency with Disco's creations, keeping the same base and a nice story flow. Now get him to do some freebuilds to gain 50XP and you can both add the Search on Bothawui!!!
  11. He can if he so desires. I think that MKJoshA said, you can build additional MOCs if you reach the next rank ... Anthe stunning build markus! I too am surprised how you can build so large MOCs in so little time. The bridge especially is epic and there really is not much to add. One question though, what would you use a Swiss knife for by building LEGO?! You do know that brick separators exist, right?
  12. I understand that, it's just that I prefer the realistic looks of MOCs and this way it looks more like a caricature ...
  13. Wow! That is some really cool way of using the space! Love the heights and especially like how the old and the new dark gray make a cool texture of the wall. The idea as well as the execution is excellent and I only have a few minor sugestions. I think that there could be another pillar on top of the middle one continuing even higher but in both cases it could be tiled to cover the studs. Also I think that there's just enough space to squeeze a 1x2 cheese slope under the two hinges to cover the studs and the gap. Or you could remove a plate if it doesn't fit now. The only thing I'm not too fond off is the fence - the brown sticks look like wooden, which doesn't really fit into the industrial build. But this sure is an excellent entry, good work!
  14. Another clean and smooth build but I think that the building has the same problem as your Fondor entry. It's a bit like of a chibby scale
  15. What a nice choice of the consistent blue color to revitalize the grayness of the MOC! It's got a ton of details and looks very clean and smooth. I think that this entry looks the best of yours. But I do think that the building is too small. As if because of the restrictions, you would just resize it to fit on the base. Especially I find the balcony far too narrow to be functional. But else, as said, looks very nice!
  16. The forced perspective looks good, but the reflections really ruins it, since you have 3 planets of the same size strangely aligned. I have no ide how to solve that, maybe build just one pillar for the support of the building. And since it's the best to take pictures from above, I relly think you should add some kind of roof to cover those technic holes ...
  17. Another Rebel entry?! Haven't we finished you all yet? I like the leaking pipe and the best part I think is the parts on the side of the border. Gives the feeling of continuation of the scrapyard feel. Could add some more of that and maybe make the border even higher for that purpose. It's a nice entry overall, I just think that the transition between light and dark gray one hte building is too 'digital' .
  18. A nice simple creation. I really like this one though simple is for it looking a bit empty. I understand that positioning those plates in the hill shape was far from simple, good job on that one! Maybe to make it less empty, you could include a part of a mining facility in the back corner instead of continuing the hill. Yet it includes everything I imagine finding at a Fondor mining site. Also like the choice of the ground color! As for the story, I'm beginning to like your excessive writing. At least I think that this part of the story is your best so far. It has some tone of actual world problematics and is surely much better than some furry creatures loving drama.
  19. My first time leading an assignment coordinating multiple groups. And what an absurd one?! We have to locate a bounty hunter on a rumored route, because Darth forgot to thank him ... as if he ever does. And for being even harder I have to coordinate the search mission from the Avenger with troops scattered over five planets. Anyway, the guys from Felucia were first to make contact. Trooper: This is squad from Felucia reporting ... MstrOfPppts: Trooper report your status. Trooper: We've landed about an hour of walk from each of the three settlements and we are half way to our target. MstrOfPppts: What about the other two groups? Trooper: We haven't heard from them, this planet truly is psychedelic, I wouldn't be surprised if something ate them. Maybe it'd be best if we return ... MstrOfPppts: Well since no one else made contact yet, you should proceed as planned. I'll keep you updated.
  20. Teal tubes look great and the whole change has improved the MOC quite a bit. I like it how dense and busy the forrest is, yet there are still some trees built from leaves and trunks that look too earthly - except for the color. Another tip for photography, I think that your presentation is missing an image which is the best for presentation. For my taste it's an image from an angle just like first images or just a little bit higher, but with the whole MOC in the image. Preferably with one corner sticking towards the camera or slightly to one side. It gives a nice overall view of creation and is not so restrictive as your last image almost from the top.
  21. Whooops, I knew I was too fast yesterday, I must have entirely missed that part of conversation somehow. Sorry again about that. But it's the easiest way to blame it on the render and lighting ... Yet I do agree that the metallic colors in LDD (nonrendered) really look strange. I think they're all far too light. Well in that case, I must say that the city build would look much better in white!
  22. I'm usually not a big fan of MOCs including multiple scenes though I think that in this case it really works well. The two builds are not interfering with each other and the execution is well done. I just think that there's too many colors used for filling the build that are only seen from the sides (white, black, both grays, ...) and I'd also skip the green plate under the build. The rockwork is a bit too random at some places but the interior and the micro ships as well as the wreackages are very well made. Also a nice idea to go microscale to be able to include more on that small base.
  23. Two floors wouldn't make much sense, I think it's better to keep the first part as the entry for the eppisode and include the rest with the whole ship as a freebuild, maybe making it even larger ...
  24. Nice presentation of Felucia! I like the color combinations in general, yet I think that there's just a bit too much of lime in the left corner. Two different plants and all the ground in lime ... The curvey blue plant thingy is great and I have a similar prototype in red for my build. I also think that tan would look better as the ground in this build. And why not going the whole 16x16? This way the foliage looks dense enough but 16x16 would allow you to use more of the same plants and make it more realistic.
  25. I agree that this looks too much like ordinary jungle. As I've said in previous Felucia builds it doesn't have to be all translucent but some other colors than brown and green are very welcome. Also the shape of the vegetation reminds too much of ordinary trees and plants. The icecream tops are nice touch and their color suits the planet more. The border is simple yet looks in place and gives the creation just the right. Much better than just a creation on a simple plate!
