I must say that I really like the vessel thing. It's of an interesting shape and nicely detailed. Something new yet just enough SWish it fits the universe completly. The base is simple yet not undetailed. Since you're not using the whole area for the build I'd sugest adding a border to frame the base and also adding some height. I do have some complaint of your content though. Every one is allowed only one build on a planet and the restrictions are 16x16. the overhang of the front of the ship is completly acceptable, yet your second build and the complete ship are not?! Or let the host / judges decide on that but I think that building a town square on 4 16x16 plates and then combining them in one build is not the point of the restrictions in the rules.

[SoNE Ep. VI] 1 - When did the killer become the hero?
MstrOfPppts replied to BEAVeR's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
You cheeky bastard is all I can say . It's an interesting approach with the way you turned your creation, yet I think it's a bit of a nonsense. I always prefer creating MOCs as pieces that could be set on display rather than just using them for one photo. And having size restrictions might mean you only have a very small table to display it on which you could do with your MOC too, but would look rather unappealing set up as a 16x16 creation. Anyway, the build is outstanding and I really love all the detail of the cockpit. The size seems just right for two pilots and all the levers and other things make it look awesome with that nice bluish lighting. The same goes for the micro built city which looks amazing too. Yet here I have another major complaint and it's the usage of the helmets in unexisting colors. Bare in mind that the first episode was real LEGO only and that you and Bob did a great step forward with LDD being allowed. Now don't push it too far, since it's still a "competition" after all - and with prizes this time - so you should not have any kind of advantage over the players using real bricks! Sorry if I sound too harsh (again), I just felt it needed to be said ...- 20 replies

[SONE Episode 6] A Brief Mission
MstrOfPppts replied to Captain Settle's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
I think that there's too much brown and foliage which makes it look more like a marsh. But I think that Ord Mantell was more of a desert planet. The build itself is nice and I'd only sugest that at the brders all the plates touch the ground. Also adding more junk with more SW feel would help a lot. This way with the barbed wires it looks more like a WW front to me. -
What a nice simple MOC. It sure looks quick, but it doesn't look rushed and thus incomplete. Of course there's some places to improve it, but it's simple and the tent is a nice idea. My sugestions would be that you remove a stormtrooper or position both behind the officer bringing the note. I understand they wouldn't be seen in that angle, but this way it looks like they came from a different direction than the officer. And anyway it would've been the officer to stand in the shade first before the troopers. Also adding some crates or a table as sugested would give the tent a cause, since they are usually set up to cover something ...

There's some very interesting arhitectural details in this build and I agree with eveything BEAVeR said (yes, I've read the whole post ). But I really think that the bar is far to small. It can barely fit all the rebels and it has no interior. I think that when being restricted in dimensions, the only right thing to do, is to make a cutout. Make only the part of the building and it'd look much better. Also the front wall could be taller and some adds for the bar in trans colors would revitalize the MOC a bit. The lamp is a very nice touch and well made. As for the story, I've already commented on the comical side of your build in your next MOC (warping through time), so I'd just add that those rebels would clearly kill you, unless they were really so drunk but in that case you should have handled them yourselve. You're an Imperial trooper after all, or have you been drinking too? I guess I have some more work and investigation to do in our ranks ...

I too think that this water technique is a bit overused lately and in my opinion it doesn't even make that much of a great effect. I'd prefer seeing something different or even something completly new. I like the smooth platform, yet there could be some height on this MOC. Maybe a wall behind the platform or at least some stairs leading to a building ... The midi Slave is really well made!

One thing to go with when being restricted in two dimensions is the third one. I'd sugest sticking that wing upwards, which would give you a lot more space to throw in some more junk and make it look more like a junyard. this way it looks more like a wing from a fallen fighter somewhere in the dwsert. Else the build is fine, but I really don'd dig your fig nor story. I understand that the episode plot is somewhat questionable, but I don't like how some of you are trying to turn Star Wars into comedy. Episode 3 was acceptable but somethings are just too much for my taste ...

[SoNE Ep VI] Sunrise on Felucia
MstrOfPppts replied to LucasLaughing's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Quite a nice MOC for a very fast one. It sure screams Felucia to me, but I think we all have mixed this a lot with Avatar. From the screens I watched recently and from what I remember from the Force Unleashed, there's more oversized plants there rather than translucent shiny things. But it probably depends which part of the planet you're on. Therefor I have no issues with your version of the ground, because most screenshots show exactly that - a sandy desert with oversized plants ... of course there's also marshes there, but it might be elsewhere. So my sugestion would be, to build more of the same plants rather than many different ones. It'd be more realistic, since sam plants mostly grow at certain location. Also I'd make the forest more dense, which would also cover the plain ground more and I'd deffinetly go for some oversized things. One thing I'm not too fond off, are the green spheres. They just don't seem too planty to me ... I don't know if I'll have time for all 5 planets, but Felucia I'm deffinetly building and I too have already searched my trans pieces box for some inspiration ... -
Lex Luthor, Bruce Wayne — what's the difference? - Because of this. Who would've thought TLG produced a quite general face print and used it only on a single minifig?! I guess it's from Brickdoctor ...

Welcome to the Empire! It's the Sith Warrior head from the Jedi Defender-class Cruiser if I'm not mistaken ... -
Really cool. I think this s the best mashup I've seen around. There's a bit of a lack of color, but that's how it should look since it's a CS scheme. I just think that the musicians should use black torsos and you could use the new green one from Exo Suit for Bobba Fett.

[MOC] Old Republic Sith Inquisitor Darth Severus
MstrOfPppts replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The second version is a lot better! The first one relly looked like a space police vessel. There's plenty of nice parts uasge in this build, yet I still think I prefer the previous fighter as well as the character. Nice to see, that you're getting pulled to the dark side. It's simple and more poverfull. For a start, you should get really angry and don't mind controlling yourself ... -
No, it just means I might build something special again for the next anniversary

[SoNE Ep.6]Boba Fett said "Thank You" too
MstrOfPppts replied to KevFett2011's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
A really nice build, smooth and looks exactly like Bbothawui buildings. It's quite a challange to not make it look like Tatooine with all that tan. I'd only sugest to build a bit higher. That'd allow for some more details on the building which curently ends a bit quick ... And to everyone picking on Boba saying 'thank you' back, I think it's even more possible than Lord Vader sending a 'thank you' card in the first place! -
One more question, since we're allowed to build multiple entries, does one's character have to be in all of them or can our troops do some work for us (for the higher ranks)?
-
Aw gosh, now that you say it, I in fact took it of Lex and he's the only guy with that face. Even though I have plenty of sith troopers lying around, I didn't realize there was a difference. My bad ... but I will get it right next year ;)

Incredible! This really is a fun episode. I love the idea of allowing multiple entries! Not sure about the XP. On one side 20 would be closer to prevoius episodes, but I think 10 is a better idea, since we're already running out of ranks ;) The size limit is also a great idea and I guess that will alow us some incredible entries. The who comes first rule is a bit so, so and encourages fast (less detailed) builds. The taking over is a nice idea yet still I think 5 points for that is a bit much. I guess 2 or 3 would be enough, but that's just me. The only major complaint is the time limit. I know it's the same as for previous episodes, but it's still hollidays time and presuming everyone is allowed at least two entries a bit more time would be welcome. For a nicely detailed 16x16 build there's not much less time needed as for some a little bigger MOCs :) Oh, and the plot on the Imperial side is a bit funny, but as long as we have a reason to build, it works ;) Congrats MKJoshA for the host spot and for what seems to be a really great episode!

I always liked creating other people's avatars and this was a great opportunity to include as many as I could build. Now everyone climb the ranks and change your avatars, so that you don't look the same rookie on the next anniversary group shot. And someone could remind a few days before, so that the image makes it right on time Yoda is also a lie I was aware of the flesh version of your head, however it's not as rare as it is old. I have no sets from my dark age which was from the western theme to almost 4 year ago ... I thought that was obvious ... It's Karin, my (NPC) companion from the last episode. I included her so that we also have a female representative in our ranks and to even out the numbers. Yap, updating indexes must be one hell of a job ... but honestlly, it's the only head that has the left side microphone and I had to buy the new B-wing for that! Thanks! I'll add a spoiler with all the names ... and done.

A few days late, but still ... I guess BEAVeR asked for a cake, so here's a group shot of most of the participants - that have an interesting avatar, that is. Can anyone get all the names? (click the image for HD :) version) List of characters from top left to bottom right: *Disclaimer: I either used the player's avatar from the player index, any latest MOC or whatever I saw fit. Everyone got fleshyfied, so sorry to haters, but the shot is superior by far this way. Someone did not have the time to make his hair (don't have the piece) and some clothing also got a bit updated. If anyone has any privacy issues, PM me and I'll blur them out. P.S.: This does not need to be judged :P Edit: List of characters added.

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion
MstrOfPppts replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Why I joined SoNE? Maybe because I have too many ideas and far too little time for all the creations. Chosing only one universe narrows that down by a lot and Star Wars is a great universe with a lot of possibilities. And the episodes with certain goals narrow it to a specific thing, which I'm then able to process. Frankly I'm a big fan of RPG and all the story telling around the creations is a lot of fun. I was really busy back when GoH started and SoNE came out just at the right time. Although I too like medieval universe, I decided participating in both would be too much and decided I wanted to be part of the game from the begining. It's been great so far and I hope that the guys behind the scenes continue with great work and I promise I'll fulfill my goal to participate in every episode that comes out. Thanks to everyone responsible as well as all the participants that make SoNE such a pleasant experience! Untill the next birthday then! And for this one I wish that the player index finally gets updated. Darn, telling your wish makes them not come true ... -
Another nice build, though too white ;) I too think that a SNOTed platform would look better and also thicker. I think that just two plates look a little fragile. I really like the fact you're using two same hoovers with different accessories - the ladder and the crane. It's just like at the airports ... Another thing I'd suggest is that you don't use exactly the same minifigures. I don't know are those rebels or pirates but they look funny in pairs, like having two different uniforms. If using the same uniforms switch the heads or at least the headgear, if using the same species, switch their clothing. It'd look more natural.

Welcome to SoNE. A nice first build you have there. The base and the tree are nice and the ship is really good! I like that it has the OT feel and reminds me of a mix between A-wing and the snowspeeder, though quite different. The hoses create a nice effect but what bothers me is that they seem to have no functionality, since they end in mid air. Maybe using the same piece as for the outer two in front would make it look better. I'm also not too fond of the foliage underneath the baseplate. I think that this MOC could be visually improved alot by adding some kind of border around the base ...

I understand that the minifig shape patern has worn off and clone brands are allowed to use the same shapes as LEGO does. But shouldn't these clone brands also have the license agreement with Disney, Marvel, DC, ... for producing their characters, which I highly doubt they have. I think it's those studios that should take actions against such producers for the sake of keeping the web as free of such knock-offs as possible!

Noooo, you're changing the scoring system, now that us Imperials have mastered it?! But seriously, I'd rather see the episode VI with some promissed extra challenges for higher ranks or some restrictions or something completly different like ep. II was! P.S.: I'm not nagging, just thinking aloud what could be cool. But I'll participate in any case, as I alvays have. Also is there any other rank above 200XP? And again, keep up the good work behind the scenes, it's been very enjoyable so far!
