  1. Lol. Oh youse guys. They looked like ruby slippers to me. Not your traditional ruby slipper, but yeah, s'what I thought of. Dorothy. Which makes me think Dimensions. Plus tiny pizzas.
  2. Since someone brought up Oz and the lack of Year One properties in Year Two.... We all know that everything TragicBanjo says and does is a hint. That's only half-sarcasm. His profile pic has, for as long as I've been here, almost always been an indicator of something coming up. A few months ago, his pic was Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch, and then, BAM!, they reveal Tom Cruise/Ethan Hunt/Mission Impossible for Dimensions. Ever since he changed his picture to that of those red, perhaps even "ruby" colored shoes...you get where I'm headed with this? I've just been waiting for it to happen. Then, yesterday, I zoomed in on the picture and realized there are tiny pizzas printed all over them. Now I don't know WHAT to think.
  3. Hey hey, welcome! Good to have you!
  4. Well my first response is: Let's give it a shot, though! Based on personal preference, top spots goes to Scarlet Spider, Hyperion, and Ghost Rider, in no particular order. Based on pure, objective quality, top marks for Silver Centurion and Green Goblin. I was trying to think of a third, and all that came to mind was Civil War Spidey, but I really do need to get a better look at him. But if we're including the Gi/Ant-Man build, then that wins both categories, hands-down. That thing is a flippin' revelation.
  5. Hahahaha, man, I love all the divided opinions on this thing! Personally, I just think it looks....funky. Not scary, not adorable. Maybe mildly cute. But mostly just weird. Yay!
  6. Not sure if you guys are serious or joking (or half and half) but I would absolutely buy Rainbow Suit and Zebra Suit Batman. And Batman Beyond :p
  7. Strongman! <3<3<3 Love it! Overall, some great efforts, but maaaaaan, I really want that Strongman!
  8. 10 points awarded! For some reason, Tony's face reminds me of (Super) Mario. Go figure! In real news, these new waves look great! I'm especially thrilled with that Thanos figure! I'm not a big fan of bigfigs, so it's nice to see some parts to make an minifig version of him. As for his gauntlet, I think, for my purposes, I would have preferred a golden boxing glove, or even just one golden hand, instead of the piece chosen, but it does fit with the heavily stylized aesthetic they've developed, so no real complaints. The Gauntletmobile, obviously, is above reproach. No interest in the others this time (until I see better pictures of Mag's head without the helmet), but it's encouraging to see the X-Men show up again. Play nice, corporations. Then you can have ALL the money. Iron Man's helmet printing scares me. Way down. In my soul. Go figure. If you're truly bummed about missing the Blackbird set, I have good news! You can still get in from Toys'R'Us.com, and they're currently running 20% of all Marvel LEGO sets. Go! Go now! Personally, I liked that set a lot. The jet looked great (IMO), plus you get Cyclops and Storm, and the version of Wolvie that I prefer (i.e. masked). The Sentinel, though....well, maybe it's best if we don't talk about that...
  9. Well, I guess that means tomorrow's trip to the LEGO Store won't go exactly as planned... Thanks for the heads-up!
  10. Indeed! You should check out Robert8's ideas for CMF's, as he has that exact guy mocked up as part of his second wave. There's a link a few posts up to some cool stuff that would be awesome if TLG actually made any of it!
  11. I wish I hadn't clicked the spoiler tab :(
  12. I'll take Jimmy Olsen. As long as he turns into Turtle Boy.
  13. I'd bet money that it isn't the Ancient One. But only five bucks or so. The banana-covered-in-purple comment is SPOT ON. The set looks awesome for $30. I'll be conflicted if it's $40. I don't remember, and I'm already typing, so I'm not gonna double-check. Shuma-gorath, or who/whatever that is, looks pretty nifty. This makes the Ra's Al Ghul set look much worse in comparison, I think. I don't know why I should compare the two, but I am. Yay!
  14. I have salt, if anyone would like to borrow a grain.
  15. House of Cards had a DVD release. I wouldn't be surprised if these did as well. That said, I honestly don't know.
  16. Ha, that's a character I never expected to love, but I've been reading it since issue one simply because I'm a huge fan of the writer. Perhaps you should try some of his other work? Check out Dinosaur Comics at qwantz.com. It's a weekly webcomic that he made for years. It's not for everyone, but it's where I first read his work and I find it absolutely hilarious. There's also years worth of work there for you to peruse, and, bonus, it's all free. If you want something slightly more "traditional", he also wrote the first 25 or 50 (I forget) issues of the Adventure Time comic, if that interests you at all. If you like the style and tone of Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, I'm fairly certain you'll dig it. That being said, all of that is stuff from the same writer, and they all have a similar writing style and a similar irreverent tone. There's lots of other things that I read and enjoy that are waaaay different. If you like the Avengers, I would recommend Jonathan Hickman's Avengers series. Some people don't like his stuff, but I find it to be dense in the best possible way and full of cool ideas and stories that constantly build on what came before. (And if you read that and like it, go further back and start with his run on Fantastic Four, since, IIRC, that's where his whole Marvel saga began.) There's lots of other stuff out there though, and it kind of depends on what other things you like. I'm happy to offer other suggestions if you like. Good luck!
  17. And the rivalry continues!!! More entertaining than Rogue/Wolfpack talk, but less on-topic. What a conundrum! OT: I like Legos*. *Yeah, I know.
  18. HA, that's the exact same thought I had.
  19. I heard from my super-secret source that two of the new franchises are "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" and "Biker Mice From Mars". I believe him, yo.
  20. I have about 5 extra cubes if anyone's looking to trade. Just sayin... As for the quality of the recent sets, I'd say they don't look bad, but none of the DC sets this year have wowed me like some of the other themes, specifically Marvel, since, you know, comics v comics. The builds have ranged from interesting to awful (IMO, OC) and I'm only interested in a few scattered minifigures like Red Hood and Scarecrow. I bought Clash of Heroes solely for Armoured Batman. I may or may not buy the Ra's set. I'm undecided until I see it in person. And while I'm so stoked to see comics-inspired Justice Leaguers, the Reyes Blue Beetle is really really really extraordinarily low on my list. So yeah, this year, Marvel wins hands-down, for me. But I am LOVING this Pirate Batman I got a few days ago. Yar. Yar.
  21. I had to double-check the CMF images. I don't get the love for the Arctic Photographer's arms for Spidey. Spidey has a stripe of red running down the outside of the arm, from shoulder to glove. Without that, it just looks weird. MCU Spidey has close-to-perfect arm printing, but the shade of blue is too dark for the classic fig. But hey, don't let me stop you guys from making that switch! On a separate note, I just got my DC Character Encyclopedia (for that sweet, sweet Pirate Batman), and it led me to wonder: will they ever release a Marvel Character Encyclopedia? I've seen Star Wars, Ninjago, Chima (I think), and now DC. Anybody know whether this is out of the realm of possibility for some wacky reason, or what? Just curious...
  22. 100 points has been awarded to you.
  23. Very nice. The resemblances of the various structures are spot-on! I love the broken rail by the t-rex pen!
