  1. It took me way too long to find this. Like five minutes. MODS, can we get this added to the first post, just so it doesn't get buried? EDIT: WAAIIIIIIIT a second. It says there's only three Wildlife Photographers per box! Does that mean no magical, mystical, mythical penguin-loop? At least not with just one box....
  2. According to the SDCC LEGO Press Release (via BrickFan), they are going to reveal two new sets at SDCC: the Batmobile and the Joker Notorious Lowrider. Is it just me, or do the brief glimpses of the Joker's car remind anyone else of the Joker's car in Suicide Squad? Probably just me.
  3. The potato quality looks okay to me! I like your mod, that hair looks good on there
  4. Is it possible to maybe vote on this? I certainly would like to have all DC 2017 discussion in one thread, rather than split into two, three, or four threads. This has never been an issue before, but they're all clearly based on DC properties, using standard LEGO parts. If Superhero Girls is minidolls, I could see that being a separate thread, but that's about it. Just my thoughts. EDIT: Just saw Clone OPatra's reply. I understand your reasoning, but disagree with the outcome. Oh well, if the decision is made, the decision is made.
  5. A fair point for sure, though I'd add Captain America and maybe Wolverine to the Marvel bracket as well. As for DC, there's still a lot of recognition coming from the Superfriends-era, so there was a bit more recognition there in the mainstream than any Marvel characters except for those mentioned. Hell, I'd argue that, pre-MCU, the general public was more aware of Hawkman than Ant-Man, Iron Man, or Thor. Anyway, getting back on topic, my local LEGO Store was supposed to be getting the new CMF series today, so I went in to check. The truck was delayed, so no CMF, but one of the guys I know had been building all of the new superhero sets from Marvel and DC. He hadn't gotten to the Scarecrow set, but had the Killer Croc set, so he brought it out for me to see. I gotta say, everything about Killer Croc and his vehicle are just as bad in person as I thought they might be (IMO of course). I hate bigfigs, so that was automatically a letdown, and the vehicle is strange, but not in a good way. And the chomping action doesn't work so well. And Captain Boomerang's "perch" is pretty bad. And- etc., etc. I'm just not a fan of that whole aspect of the set. Captain Boomerang and Red Hood, though, look awesome, but there's no way I can justify $80 on two figs and an admittedly cool tank that I won't keep built. Katana looks cool, but I don't care much about the character or the figure. I wish I had been able to see the Scarecrow set, though. I'm far more on-the-fence about that one. (Completely OT, but if you're a Marvel fan also, OMG SQUEE, he had the Bridge Battle and Ghost Rider sets built as well. SO AWESOME.)
  6. Ha, that is almost EXACTLY what my thoughts were as well Hey, what-the-what? You're right! That seems like an exceedingly odd inclusion in those pictures, but hey, whatevs! I have a very similar idea for building a devil figure using just the wings and tail from the Imp. I'll be using the same torso also, I believe, but with a faaaar different head. That one's expression is just.....not what I'm looking for I'm also planning to use the Faun's legs and the red-colored Gargoyle headpiece from the new Ghostbusters set (with the printing removed). The Imp's helmet just looks too cartoony and helmet-ish for my tastes. Unfortunately, my LEGO Store's truck was a day late, so they should be there tomorrow instead. That was a three-minute drive wasted
  7. Ha-HAH! I thought the saaaame thing! Which is hilarious, because I'm just remembering that Robin is played by Michael Cera. So...Michael Cera=Carrie Kelley? As for the Joker, he reminds me of the version from "the Batman" cartoon. Which is not a good thing at all, personally. But I'm definitely stoked to be seeing these! Robs and BG look good so far!
  8. Oy, the confusion! I'm more lost than when I began
  9. Well, that was a lot of straight-forward answers! Thanks for the link! It's disappointing to see no new product for Year 1 IPs *coughWizardofOzfigscoughcough*, but pretty understandable. I'm taking this guy at his word that they are open to it though, and the mention of Doctor Who might be mildly heartening for some. Depends on whether a sliver of hope is better than none at all. No matter! I'm eagerly looking forward to Year 2! I want so many more than I did in Year 1, even though I bought everything I need to get to 100%. This time around, I'll be buying many more because I WANT to rather than "need" to.
  10. Saw you posted something similar in the DC thread, so I came back here to check, and here it is! Thanks a bunch! Nothing here yet either, but soon enough, hopefully! EDIT: Okay, so I guess that means Civil War Spidey and Dr. Strange are both exclusive to Target and S@H? And Ra's Al Ghul (DC) is Wal-Mart. Is there anything else, maybe a TRU exclusive I'm forgetting about?
  11. Oh for sure, that would be ideal, but until that happens, I agree that it's a nice way to give a bit more color to a character who is definitely supposed to be brighter and sunnier in disposition than his mentor. Pretty much the main reason I've never liked Nightwing's red outfit, but to each his own All that said, I don't know if I'll actually swap them out, as I've only ever modded one other character: Martian Manhunter's classic look definitely needed blue hips/underoos but with green legs.
  12. So......does that mean no, we don't have the DCPIs yet? I'm assuming we're talking about the Dr. Strange set. Speaking of.... Can someone clarify which sets are exclusive to which stores, or whether that's unknown at this time? And can we add that to the front page? I found the Wal-Mart Ra's Al Ghul set (DC, I know), but I don't even know where to look for the others, or indeed which ones are exclusives. No sign of Dr. Strange or Tanker Takedown on S@H whatsoever. What are the projected release dates again? Are they not August 1st?
  13. Holy cow, that Nightwing switcheroo looks pretty darn amazing. I just got Nightwing yesterday, I'm sure I have that Ice Cream Gal somewhere....
  14. I feel like I probably agree with this, but... When it was approved, it was the first confirmation for the IP, and I was stoked, since I'm a huge fan. And I thought the original submission looked great! I especially loved the builds of Flame Princess, the Lich, and the inclusion of the snail, who was one of my favorite easter eggs. And now, lo and behold, all three of those are missing. And I'm not sold on some of the changes that have been made, though I am a fan of others. And with the Dimensions sets having been revealed before this, I already know I'm getting some solid AT minifigures, which is always my preferred form for most normally-scaled characters. However, I am considering getting it for some of the cool parts. Like most, I was praying for joints of a different color, but I'm not surprised, or really even disappointed, since it seemed such a long shot. All that said, Lady Rainicorn looks amazing, and may even stay built, even if I do get it mainly for parts. Ba dum bum! Off-topic and irrelevant, my apologies, but HOLY GUACAMOLE, those custom minifigures are incredible. Does anyone have a link with more info about those, anything other than just the picture? I would really, really like to know more.
  15. The difference is obvious. The new figure is required to wear his hat at a jaunty angle. This will be mandatory. But for realsies, glad to have the designer video already. This thing looks so cool. I was expecting to have no real interest in this, but I actually think I want this more than the Ghostbusters HQ. I love GB, but for display, it's a big red box, and I'm having a hard time ponying up for it. THIS thing though....it looks so amazing. I don't care that I don't have a Disney obsession, I DO have a LEGO obsession. It's too expensive to be a day-one-buy for me, but I'll definitely be getting it.
  16. In mine, the battle will already be over, and the monster will be fleeing through the second window. That's his butt sticking out.
  17. Agreed. I wish we could just have one thread per company for rumors and discussion. Can't talk about TLBM here, can't talk about Micros there. Shouldn't talk about 2017 in 2016 and vice versa. Oh well, what the hell.
  18. Meh. I'll BrickLink She-Hulk. Maybe. I hope I care about the next one! C'mooooooooon. Kang!
  19. But...but...but....that's 7. Lol. Is Sandman still a good guy/anti-hero/mercenary/whatever these days? And speaking of Sandman, where is that one leg from? Maaaaan, they look so goooooooood.
  20. Ooh, that would be interesting though. I've been starting to think the Superhero Girls line was never going to happen.
  21. 33.33% could be seen as a non-answer akin to "everyone's got a shot". There are 3 sets, so I would assume Howard the Duck also has a 33.33% chance of appearing. As does Darkhawk. And everyone. Yet you say Kang has slim to no chance. Would you care to revise your answer for Kang? Or does 33.33% actually mean Zemo will appear in one of the sets? (Which would sadly put Howard the Duck at a similar "slim to no chance".) Am I thinking too much? I really want Zemo I would typically agree, but in this instance, I don't. Hawkeye has never been my favorite Avenger, but he's been there since before I was born. Yet there isn't a single version of Hawkeye that's ever been produced which I like. I just don't care for the movie look. It's cool for the movies, but I don't care to have it on my LEGO shelf, so if they finally gave us a classic comic version, I'd be ecstatic. Yay for opinions (And we know for a fact that they still have the Wolverine-mask-mold, which would be perfectly suitable for him...)
  22. Hahahaha, thank you for that!
