  1. Awesome work as ever Kevin - the mouth of the giant ice spider is creepily realistic...gives me the shivers just as that episode did!
  2. I like the smoother top mod but I do want to keep the escape pod, I wonder if there is a happy medium of the two? Might have to copy your little hologram - forgot all about that and its a nice touch.
  3. Few more tweaks - I love seeing other peoples mods and their ideas which I can apply to mine - some great ships being built out there. Played around with the cockpit - I can get two seated, one standing and squeeze the Child in on the side. Going tor the well used patina in series 2, lots of different panels but the tan looking ones are actually silver just the shoddy light and pic. The Blurg is a tight fit though - need to sort out those technic supports - flattening the legs just about gets him in there with the two carbonite slabs.
  4. Looking excellent - can't wait to see it in real bricks!
  5. If it does not bother you to do so then a good sharp craft knife and a steady hand will do a decent job. The back of the helmet wont have the same length of the face/neck covering around the back of the neck as the separate helmets but it should look ok.
  6. Played around with the engines a little more, also cleaned up the back of the nacelles and added some landing gear and tiles underneath. I'm going to see if I can find a decent Blurg moc before I mess about with the insides more. Post the pics I fixed the left engine droop and shortened the guns.
  7. Its two of the ribbed hose pieces in black - 72504. (78c02 in the old scheme).
  8. Looks good - lifts the engine centre visuals a lot.
  9. Good shout. Sadly non available in my country - I looked at the similar version from the first ARC170 but being red it does not really work.
  10. Good find and thanks for posting here. Very snot - I like the Master Wu engine hubs - might borrow that idea. Landing gear looks good and the thicker and wider smooth wings work well. I'd be tempted to tidy the rear engine given the rest of the look but its looking great overall.
  11. Yup Bricklink or Brickset are my go to places. Sometimes its worth seeing how they categorise the various parts (slopes, wedges, tiles etc) and then do a sort of your pieces into the main categories first and then (depending on how much you have to sort) you can decide if you need to go into sub-categories and then individual parts or go straight into the parts. Even breaking down a single UCS set into a full inventory is an effort - I'd bricklinked the original UCS y-wing and snowspeeders prior to their re-release, so once the new versions arrived I then parted my copies back into my inventory - took a lot longer that I'd expected as you forget just how many different parts there are.
  12. Oh my oh my....this is amazing...awesome job.
  13. Sweet - many thanks for that. Makes such a difference, grand job.
  14. Looking good - I like the smoothing of the canopy - I'll add that to the list of things to change, also like the ladder idea. Never thought to angle the landing gear - that's an excellent shout - do you have any more pics of that?
  15. True enough but I'm one of the buy lego and then build and display / play with kids types so not being in a sealed box is no problemo at all.
  16. Decent little set. Checking the instructions the 40th ESB anni tile is a sticker and there seems to be pretty much nothing too fancy parts wise, so one to make up myself given its a US only sale.
  17. Rear engines looking good. Shame about the light brick.
  18. Oh....my....lord... I have gone back to my childhood and collecting a new Kenner SW figure each week....I love this! - amazing.... Oh....my....lord... 19. I like this better than the Yoda build but its expensive. If it comes down on price or gets a decent included in any decent offers at other sellers then I'll pick this up - else there are other sets I'd rather have,
  20. At the moment I removed one of the technic pins on each side then covered the wing/body connections up for now. If I decide to redo the inside then i'd maybe look at playing around with the frame and angles then but for now I'm messing with the engines still. Could look good if some one mailed the angle right.
  21. Now that is a sweet bit of printing...looks awesome...
  22. The pipe is 8l but I plan to swap it for a shorter bar depending on how I end up changing the engine. If you go without the wheel then I think 6l would be fine.
  23. Two of these - one has the 1x1 bricks and 1x4 plates and acts as the rear element. The other has the inverted slopes and 1x3 plates plus the printed round tile for the front element. Rear with the tiles and wedges added. Front with the tiles and wedges added. Each has a cylinder added and the round plate is used to separate the rings. The two sections are slotted in - they don't join as they are back to back - hence the bar or pipe is used to link them and then into the engine assembly (else you would not get the angle offset you need). You can play around with the size of plates and tiles to make shorter or longer shapes, and if you put larger pieces in the middle you can make quite long sections by using 1x8 plates and tiles. For the Razor Crest I felt a 4 plate would be about right.
  24. Not the right colours but this shows the parts I used for the current build. I'll then also sort the original engine attachment to replace the current attachment and work on the rear. I've a couple of in progress pics of the build f you want them.
  25. Thanks and that may be a good idea you suggest - I'll have a look at that later and see if I have some DBG tiles I can try out. Built a second engine (awaiting the parts so the colours are off but the idea is there) and below is one with and without the wheel. I've got some ingot pieces coming so might add those to the non wheel version to help give some shape. Once the parts arrive I'll take the time to line up the 'ribs' better and then sort the colour etc
