Ah so you think they would angle into the centre more in order to fit and hence then clash at the ends and not have enough room to all fit in?

I am waiting for my met silver cheese wedges and parts for the internal blades to arrive before I start looking at revising the engine cone, but in the mean time I had swapped out the original clips for clips and curved slopes (as I had them in stock). So I think Jerac your suggesting combining Lfm55's revised ring with them?

Looking great now - it would be fab to see the second engine done and some side/top shots of the full effect. Its good to keep sharing ideas and changes so we can make those little tweaks and mods to what is an awesome model - so don't worry out flooding the forum - its all inspirational..

Once you buy the instructions you can see what's used from the original list - its about 8/9% as I recall, the main pieces being the Canopy as you call out, the two carbonite blocks (but if your not opening it they can be skipped), the engine wheels etc. If you have it and are happy to scrap it for parts as I was then it helps. If you prefer to keep it then it won't break the bank if you can source another canopy or use the brick built alternative. I think that's better than the "stock" just clips - I'll see if I have the clips in hand to try that for now and as you say see how the ideas develop further.

That's looking good...nice turbine blade effect.

I'm swapping out the black belt wheels for some trans neon orange ones to help with the rear engine glow so I think as soon as they arrive I'll give LfM55s mod a whirl....

Its looking promising - keep a Its looking very promising - fingers crossed. Can't have enough silver...once you start though you may need to keep going...

Hee hee yes fair shout...I may have loose morals but not that loose....

Sorry brain memory recall playing tricks - its a plane part not a train part (sorry) - 2958pb081 - its a 3x3 when I was sure it was 5x5 in my head...I liked the pattern but could not find any in the UK. The other nice part someone used turned out to be not Lego but MB so that died.

I feel your pain in the loft - I'd sorted mine quite well but for the last 12 months just thrown parts into boxes as I moved everything into the loft as we moved rooms around due to the kids growing (they dont seem to stop doing that....). Hence as well as I'd thought I'd done I was still scrabbling around earlier this week looking for those last few ruddy clips... Hopefully your BnP won't take too long - it took 7 weeks for mine to get picked but to be fair actually went from posted to into my mits in 3 days. Thanks muchly - I wanted to try to avoid it looking like a one coat Hasbro model so I am chuffed that worked out. I only used one colour but tried to mix it up by using the met/flat silvers, PDG and dotted LBGs to break it up. Ha yes indeed, I was just finishing mine when I read your post and thought glad someone did it first!. Cool - there was a very old (train I think) set of blades on a similar but black part which looked like it could work but I could not find any in the UK.

Thanks - sorry meant to say thanks in replying to your first post (my bad - New rule for myself don't reply on a forum when doing work at the same time)

Thanks. To be fair Jerac's nailing of the angles of the ship makes it work - I suspect it would not work as well on the original Lego 75292 as its so boxy and does not get the shape right. As much as the original vrs silver parts cost, the painful part was the LBG re-colouring - its a mix of original metallic silver, flat silver, PDG and LBG with key external pieces then sprayed individually to get the patchy effect. Thank you - as above its kudos to Jeracs skills to provide the shaping . Funny though I found that some of the lego parts are the same (if you rub some of the silver printed pieces they are LBG underneath...I thought I'd found a cheaper way to get hold of metallic silver plates and figured I'd do the usual gentle rubbing off of the print and voila, but no I found the silver comes off as well and its a regular LBG) and a quick spray of some Elbow Grease spray and the part is back to its original state, so its not permanent or destructive (well I admit there is a lemony freshness aroma on the test part I did for a couple of days but it wears off). But its not something I'd want to do again or with any other builds - once was enough....
-
If only....I raided the BL and BnP stock of metallic and flat silver parts (man are they pricey...I thought getting lots of LBG plates was a pain for my SD but try getting a load of silver wedges and plates and watch that cart rack up) , plus some pearl dark grey pieces but sadly a lot of parts are not in that colour. I echo the comment of ScottishDave in his post so its not one for the purists, but for the RZ I broke out the paint...

TIs done - very happy with this. enjoyable to build, some clever techniques (its a Jerac build after all) and a great set of instructions. Some fiddly bits and some areas which I'll need to tighten up but its now got pride of place in my SW lego

Looking mighty fine, are those the engine disks from the ARC 170? - I nabbed a couple of those before Xmas but I could not find a way of using them without the red being too distracting. Those guns look great - especially using the the level bases for the nozzles - genius! The canopy looks spot on. I've just finished mine and will put some pics on in the morning. It needs some fettling here and there to close out some gaps - the nose only needs to be touched and it will fall off, and the gaps on the rear of the front cargo bay door are already bugging me.... (PS - loving your Boba helmet - thats a lot of time and effort into that baby but its looking so so good)
-
Looking mighty sweet - I like some of the colour swap outs on the engines - looks nice and used. Great diorama as well!

That's wise advice sir. I've done the base already as I had those parts in so actually hitting step 520 means I've about a third done. Not trying to blitz it just do a few steps each time. I did spend a some time playing with the light bricks I admit...
-
Indeed so! Excellent - sadly work keeps interrupting my progress but its going well so far.

That's pants - I keep forgetting about that whenever I use paypal (I did it when the RZ first came out to pre-order last year so although I got my order in on the first day I had to wait a couple of weeks post it being actually released as my paypal payment authority expired...). I'm a third of the way through the build of Jerac's so my 75292 is now a carcass of parts like its been hit by a batch of angry Jawas.....

As a fellow UK'er, I found back in Feb a number of parts cheaper on BnP than BL. Including; Ingot - price and volume in LBG Plate 1/3 with 2 knobs - price and volume in LBG Bow 2 x4 - price and volume in LBG Plate 1x2 rounded no 1 - - price and volume in Black Roof tile lattice - - price and volume in LBG Roof tile 1x2x3 74deg inverted - price and volume in LBG Left and right plate 2x2 27 deg - price and volume in LBG (needing matching number of course) Brick with bow 1/3 - price and volume in LBG Plate with bow 2x4x2/3 - price and volume in LBG Brick 1x2x1 with 4 knows - price and volume in LBG Needing them in volume tended to mean buying new from BL which seemed to be the the tipping point on price. Few people had enough old stock as I decided to limit myself to UK sellers given the shipping issues with the EU. (PS - just let me know if you want the BnP part reference number for any of the above save you looking).

Nor me but if you retry the download link you should get v84.

Looks like a Sword/Foil - 93550.

Yup - pure coincidence Lego emailed me last night to say as my order was placed back in Feb the paypal approval had expired. So having paid over the phone Customer Service confirmed the order would be shipped today but coming over to the UK was typically c6 weeks to hitting my doorstep. Yes my BL orders are similar, usually a 1 to 2 day turnaround, but using UK based BL sellers was about 2.5 times the cost of BnP for the last batch of c250 parts plus being spread across 4+ BL sellers it would be 4 lots of p&p. Hey ho something to look forward to in May and in the meantime I will keep enjoying looking at others builds....

Sadly being in the UK its taking a lot longer than usual to come over from the European mainland. The last BnP order was 6 weeks from leaving the warehouse to arriving. This is the Lego header that appears "Bricks & Pieces purchases are taking about 5-7 weeks to be delivered. We’ll send you an email once your order is on its way!"
