  1. Ta - some more pics in the https://bricksafe.com/pages/hold0511/lego/razor-crest-moc-by-jerac folder. Ignore the engine two - I'm still playing around with either going down the Lfm55 or trying to make the slopes fit better - no time at the moment. Now that's a clever idea - I stuck with either LBG or DBG as I knew what the effect of the paint would have.- but I bet you saved a lot of time and money once you had worked out the parts you had to get right v's any cheap and available.
  2. I built the model over two weeks on and off, having sorted the parts into the tubs I use to group them. So I did about 2 / 3 spray "batches " a day over that period, based on how many parts fitted into the large lego box I used as my spray booth and a rough look ahead over any specific parts being used in the next 100 steps or so. Each spray pass is only a couple of minutes - its the sorting/drying which takes the time together with the smaller number of parts which needed a second coat (covering more than one side say). Had I decided to do all the spraying in one go - its probably only an hour or so to do - assuming you have the space to lay out all the parts at once for spraying/drying which I don't (two kids and dog would not be able to resist with the "touchy touchy"). You could do in sub assemblies with some planning, but you lose some of the patina and also it will then "glue" parts together and you risk the paint pooling - doing them individually means they are still "normal" bricks.
  3. You know that has never actually occurred to me to do....hmm....but now you have said it.....masking the two front bars would be the hardest part with the curves - the rest of the lines are stright.
  4. Sliding in somewhat - I sprayed mine with Plastikote - doing each brick individually with varying coats/layers/directions etc gives you the variations in tone/shade which then enables you to get a more natural effect/ In effect its a similar approach to Lego drum lacquering their pieces. Mix in the standard Lego Met Silver, Flat Silver, PDG, PLG etc and it works well. Appreciate its not for all but worth it with this ship. I can pm you if you want any more details so as not to disrupt the thread.

  6. Yup resolved. There was a period where the usual scalpers where trying to sell the post resolution UK box with "RZ and not the Mando transport" boxes to the unsuspecting.
  7. It was to do with trademarks - https://brickset.com/article/53520/75292-razor-crest-renamed-following-trademark-issue All sorted now and hence why its back to being the RZ in UK, Germany etc
  8. Trust me once its sat on top of this fabulous MOC you will not regret it!
  9. Jerac's brick built canopy option is a decent holding place whilst you wait but I am not sure the price of the lego part will decrease that much any time soon - given the ship is destroyed in the series, unless Mando finds another one (its still DIsney after all) at some point Lego is going to stop making 75292 and then it will only get worse. Maybe if the canopy gets used in another set (maybe with no printing at all or a print similar enough to use) then becomes more available. Sadly great MOCs like this one drive up demand. I don't know what drives BL'ers to buy and part sets, but its not a cheap set to buy in bulk and you only have to see the purchase history on BL for the part to see that any BL seller is going to want to price it accordingly for some time to come.
  10. 100% spot on - we all know its bootleg knockoff parts and the designers get nothing for all their hard work - lets not give them any oxygen on a Lego forum - but fair play at least when people buy the original manual from the designer.
  11. Well cool - it took me looking twice to realise its a lego model and not just a fancy 3d model....looks uber sleek and clean.
  12. If you scroll back to page 4 there is a US quote on build cost which will give you a good baseline - I had a decent stash of pieces already and put the official Lego RZ into the build (and being UK the availability of parts is different). As ever with MOCs it depends on what you have already or if your buying all the parts, and if your going down the new or used route. Cockpit piece will be the biggest single cost probably (unless you take the brick built option).
  13. My oh my I so like and want one of these babies next to my Batwing on the wall.....
  14. Mmm so sleek and smooth - I really like this build, looks great and its a lot larger than you think when you first see the pics. Great job!
  15. Echo Lfm55's comments. If you go to the first post /page 1 of this thread you can see the pics Jerac posted of the inside, including the gun storage, the lighted interior etc. As Lfm55 replied there is not much else to see, and its tight proportions certainly mean I would also struggle to get my fingers inside. If your going to open up hatches for a diorama then fine else I would suggest its best as a display model (which it is absolutely awesome as) rather than a playset.
  16. Unless you have a spare X-wing 75218 to part out - 11 1x1 sand blue tiles in that plus a 1x2 tile....
  17. Sweet - I love sand blue and it will work really well on this one.
  18. Looks great - the engine nozzles worked out very well - job well done there. There are some decent flat silver pieces available at good prices, also the odd Pearl LG/DG can also be good on the eye. Yes met silver is more pricey but you can find the odd seller with some decent fees - did not even look at chrome myself as they are crazy expensive. Spot on - and this great model supports being tinkered with and changed as we each want (given I did the shiny look thing....).
  19. Sure I've fired over the SKU numbers to you.
  20. one for Lfm55 being a fellow of the same country.
  21. Welcome to the forum and good luck if you decide to proceed with this MOC.

  24. Yup I think your spot on - its going to look to small and I think they would have to be reduced in number in order to fit and hence create more gaps in the sides. For now I still prefer your cheese wedge solution.
