  1. Doctor Light, Satan Girl & Lex Luthor are definitely up there . I have only seen scripts, not any designs so to guess on any of the others might be too risky as there are a handful of characters they could be.
  2. Only signed on for two episodes, and it's fairly common that these deals get scrapped, plus the due date makes me believe it will be season 2, meaning if season 1 doesn't do well this all may be totally irrelevant. However I do really appreciate that, I definitely feel the weight on my shoulders. I have known about it for a second now and am still very hyped to have this opportunity, so thank you! Wally is definitely one of my favorites, and that is all I have to say about that
  3. I can't officially say I'm associated with Justice League Action. But as far as I know it is the only DC project they have in the works. If that answers your question?
  4. I definitely didn't say Justice League But thank you! Feels very unreal
  5. Okay, so big news for me, potential hints for future sets. Honestly have no idea if it means anything or not so take this with a huge grain of salt. For those that don't know, I'm a writer/ artist. I've worked with comic companies like Image and Bongo, I've done storyboards for other companies like Warner and Paramount and the past year and a bit have landed a semi-regular writing gig at Cartoon Network, writing episodes for shows like Regular Show, Steven Universe and Gumball. With my backstory out of the way the past 2 or so months I have been attached to an upcoming DC project Cartoon Network has in the works. Yesterday I was locked in as a writer, which if that wasn't exciting enough, I was sent an email by my boss this afternoon giving me a basic outline of the basic direction of the show (It's very different but very good trust me), and what they want from me. Here is the exciting bit. Obviously as a geek, I am over the moon to be writing a DC property, and if that wasn't good enough I do believe I have a good chance in influencing what LEGO may put in future sets. Parts of the email said things like, (and these are obviously paraphrased to avoid spoilers) "Don't be afraid to use new characters", "Keep them family friendly as this is a children's show, but remember to stay faithful to the character", and probably the part that stuck out to me the most; "Talk with lead designers about your vision of these characters as they will play a huge part in the creation of your ideas. From storyboards, to television, to toy shelves." Now while heavily paraphrased, those same messages were basically repeated 3 or 4 times throughout. It seems very likely (To me at least) that CN is wanting to make toys off this property, with a focus on some of the more obscure characters. And LEGO is almost guaranteed in that regard, with Beware the Batman & Teen Titans Go both getting LEGO treatment, it's almost certain this property will at some point as well. Whether or not they make sets or figures based on the characters I use just is in the grey area, as we haven't got a Jinx or Trigon from TTG, neither have we a Pyg or Metamorpho from BtB. I obviously I won't be sharing the characters I'll be using or what I've heard from the show, as I don't want to get in to any trouble. But if anything should be taken from this it's expect a wider and more diverse range of characters from DC. Expect either next year or the year after to have a focus on the obscure characters. Because if I'm right and the characters I use are put into LEGO, Batman might finally take a backseat.
  6. lol you got me there. But yeah, a CMF line could work too. If the first series does well they could possibly release other series in the style of the different shows. Series 1 would be the original team, 2 could be Next Generation etc. I don't see it happening but it's always a nice escape, thinking about what could be.
  7. While I agree with most of what everyone has said on the matter here are my two cents.. I do believe Star Wars has something to do with Star Trek's chances of being a theme but not in the way I think has been suggested. Lets say they started up Star Trek and continued with Star Wars. Now someone who has no idea about either properties and just wanted a LEGO spaceship standing in the LEGO isle with the option of Star Trek or Wars. They will most likely choose Star Wars as it not only is more in the mainstream currently but has a much larger variety of ships and and settings, and arguably cooler designs. One of the coolest parts in all Star Trek lure, the Borg, have a literal Cube as their ship. As awesome as it is, LEGO, a company that markets imagination and creativity may have problems getting children to buy a giant cube, especially when they have an option to buy a Millennium Falcon. I think also the demographic LEGO appeals to isn't too invested in Star Trek. The past 2 movies have made 853.1 million combined. Force Awakens has made over 2 billion and it was only one movie. Disney airs Star Wars shows, Darth Vader is one of the biggest halloween costumes to this day, where as Star Trek hasn't had a show since 2005. The hype for the new movie is mixed with fans, and is non-existent to those who aren't invested in the franchise. While the new show may come along and change everything, as of now Star Trek is not popular with today's youth, which remember is TLG's target audience. It is mostly the Adult fan's they would be catering to should they decide to release sets. Which is why I believe a proper theme will not happen. However in saying all of this a LEGO Ideas set or a one off collector's piece like the Simpson's house I think is possible, should LEGO attain the rights in the future. I mean, 10 years ago Megablocks had the rights to both Spider-man and Ninja Turtles and look who has them now. EDIT: I rambled and ended up saying what has been said because I thought it hadn't been said so I said it. Oh well, I tried.
  8. I have more constructive criticism if anything... While I really like the design of this vehicle I don't feel as if building a vehicle in black justifies calling it a Bat-vehicle, as it just doesn't look like a Batmobile or Bat-anything. I do grab the idea behind it, as the Bat-vehicle in the set was weak, but between the (small albeit) "bat fins" and the logo you could tell it was Batman's car and with a good imagination can see him driving it in a campy children's television show. The build definitely works, I don't think that's the problem so much as the recognisability of it. All good incarnations of the Batmobile and other Bat-vehicles have had the bat fins/ wings. Whether prominent or subtle they were there. If nothing else the logo would be a key feature in it's design. You should imagine the build in grey or drawn in pencil and ask yourself if it is still recognisable as to what it is intended to be, because as of now I wouldn't be able to tell it was for Batman had you not said it. I hope I don't come off as too harsh as I do actually really like this design, it just gives me more of a stealthy, futuristic, military/ cop 4x4 vibe more so than it does Batman.
  9. I'd say it's the ancient one until an official reveal. The Stan Lee site has been known to be wrong in many circumstances, plus that is clearly a female minifigure and is in an outfit I just can't see Wong wearing... not like I could see the Ancient One wearing it either though.
  10. Yeah a new Loki sounds good. I personally never liked the original. Was just too grey for Loki to me.
  11. starting to feel that way huh?
  12. Using the clear head for King Shark looks awesome. Perhaps this hair for Waller: http://www.firestartoys.com/Shop/Minifigure-Parts/Minifigure-Female-Hair/2349-LEGO-Hair-~-Bob-~-Black.html
  13. Crossbones is stealing a bio weapon in both the movie and the set? Am I missing something?
  14. If I remember correctly the "water truck" was white and not as long. Also, while I would have preferred Ant-Man, it would be weird to have a Captain America line of sets where he doesn't even appear in half of them. I agree with Nemo as this set, doesn't impress me that much. The Spider-man and Hawkeye are the best incarnations they've been given, but the changes on Vision aren't enough for me to really care and I don't think Cap is changed at all, not to mention the build is crummy. For an expansion of the airport I expected better...
  15. I really love this simple MOC as it really brings out the characters. Well done!! Only piece of constructive criticism would be the color palate, the random greys on the shop itself mixed with the reds, blues, browns etc. is a little off putting. The build is great though!
  16. Alright I just saw X-Men - Apocalypse and am really needing more X-Men LEGOs... hear me out I'm thinking of a 90's cartoon styled sewer base for Lady Deathstrike and perhaps 1 or 2 cyborg henchman she was lugging around with her in the series. Wolverine & Jubilee would also be included with a Psylocke for good measure. The base would have play features like a hidden door leading to Deathstrike's cyborgy tech room where she would store her weapons, and spare parts. As well as have a chamber for her to create and upgrade more cyborgs as she pleases. Jubilee could have a buildable firework launcher that could knock down columns in the base, similar to the Hulk Lab Smash set. Another 90's inspired set I'd like to see is the cathedral Nightcrawler was raised in, being attacked by The Brotherhood Of Evil Mutants. Nightcrawler, Rogue, Gambit & Colossus would be up against Mystique, Toad, Quicksilver and Juggernaut. The build would be the main bell tower of the cathedral surrounded in snowy rock. Think Arkham Asylum Breakout mixed with Hydra Fortress Smash only the build being much more vibrant in color with the light blues and whites standing out against the dark grey and browns. Colossus and Juggernaut ideally would be big figs going up against each other, with Rogue and Gambit facing off against Toad and Quicksilver ( who would have his green costume here). Mystique and Nightcrawler would be fighting a top the tower, (fans of the comics why I matched them up is clear plus it has potential to be somewhat emotional/ intense if it were an actual scene). Obviously one couldn't leave out an X-Mansion set, but rather than having a glorious huge mansion that would cost an absurd amount of money, I'm thinking something similar to the TMNT sewer base where the top layer is the mansion and beneath is the X-Men hideout complete with the danger room. Yellows, translucent light blues and silver for the majority of the set (because this should live and breathe X-Men) with the swampy brown and pale yellow for the rest of the actual mansion. Professor X (in his floating chair) and Magneto, could be calmly be playing chess as chaos devastates the rest of the set. With an updated Cyclops and storm, Jean Grey, Iceman and Beast going up against Blob & Pyro. Emma Frost and Havok could easily be included and put on either side as they do swap sides frequently enough. I really like the idea of Cerebro being the focus of the set with removable flames and ice on either side of the main platform. Finally I have wanted a Weapon X set since the first Wolverine Chopper Showdown set way back in 2012. So I purpose a jungle base similar to the Wolverine Vs. Hulk, taking on almost an Imperial Endor base vibe, as it should be very technological mixed in with jungle vines and dirt. Only I think I can one up that idea. It's not any Jungle. It's Genosha. Imagine outside of the base itself leaning up against a tree under vines and rocks, a huge buildable sentinel head. The rest of the body being scattered around the set really breathing life into the surroundings. Inside the base would be the restraints and machinery used to experiment on Wolverine along with silver or chrome pieces under the grates or in vats to resemble adamantium. With printed tiles of his skeleton. Our heroes would be Wolverine and Kitty Pryde with Angel, while our villainous team-up would consist of Omega Red, Deadpool and Domino lead by the one and only Sabretooth. Some of my all time favorite X-Men have been Nightcrawler, Jubilee and Psylocke so it was really good seeing them shine on film, hopefully sooner rather than later they can shine in a LEGO set too, as well as X-Men in general getting it's due when it comes to sets. However I do know this is unlikely, so while this just remains a wishlist, hopefully I've given cool enough ideas for someone to take inspiration and make a kick-megablocks MOC. Edit: I left out my idea for an Apocalypse set!!! Basically another playset set in Tokyo, the X-Men are being attacked by the Four Horsemen, Archangel, Mister Sinister, Silver Samurai and Dark Phoenix (I know Silver Samurai and Dark Phoenix aren't great choices for the horsemen however the line-up consists of really whoever Apocalypse chooses and I want those minifigures so he is choosing them dammit). Banshee, Bishop, X-23 and Professor X (In a regular Wheelchair) in a modified blackbird, that has a play function where Apocalypse can destroy it. Has a lot of rubble with those giant TV screens with neon colors amongst the grim colors of the base. Apocalypse would be based off his 90's appearance and yeah. Nothing too crazy about the set other than the figures...
  17. don't quote this
  18. Already spoke to Clone OPatra on the matter and can now (while I don't 100% agree) can understand where you all are coming from. Sorry for causing a ruckus on here. :)
  19. no. not subjective. not letting a large amount of people who have seen the film talk about the film and the sets from it IS unreasonable. Yes Americans haven't seen it. But in a thread where people ALL AROUND THE WORLD come to talk about sets from a movie released almost everywhere but America, an ordinary person would look at not letting anyone speak on the matter unreasonable as anyone who is invested in the sets or the film but doesn't want spoilers wouldn't go on a thread about the film and the sets and open up spoiler tags. there are spoiler tags for a reason, and not letting people even use that is bad moderating and unreasonable. if someone posts an un tagged spoiler, I'm sure we would agree that's not appropriate, but for real? No talking about it at all? I do apologise if this is off topic I just believe that this is totally unfair to those who have seen it.
  20. That seems unreasonable.. majority of the world has seen the movie now. While it is unfair to Americans who haven't seen the film, it is also unfair to anyone who lives in Australia, the UK etc etc. who may want to speak on the film in comparison to the sets. Rather than have everyone not speak about it, surely letting those who have seen it, use spoiler tags (as from what i understand, that's what they are there for) seems okay. Considering if you are super serious on not having the film spoiled, you wouldn't open a spoiler tag knowing inside would be a spoiler, completely ignoring the fact you are on a worldwide website with a Marvel thread that would house spoilers anyway. edit: while I do understand most on this website are American, I still think it's unreasonable for those reasons ^^
  21. Creative control. Not merchandising. So I am still expecting only 1 with maybe some comic/ tv show sets but who knows. Honestly just waiting for Mysterio at this point.
  22. I agree 100% with this. It could be something totally unrelated to the film, but this seems most likely.. While I'd personally love that I don't see it happening because it is a solo Spidey film released by Sony. If it were a larger cast like Avengers or Civil War I'd see it happen maybe. Or if this was 100% Marvel like Iron Man 3 i'd also consider it a possibility. But popularity has nothing to do with it. Guardians had 3 sets only because of its cast, it was an unknown before the film. Ant-Man had a much larger following going into it and only had one set because of the character line-up/ set pieces. But I wish you are right. Like I really hope I'm just pessimistic and you are right. just. please be right haha.
  23. From what I've heard that is common with LEGO, a set or build being canceled only to be used later on. Nice find!
