  1. I love this. I built an Iceberg Lounge years ago so seeing this also kind of made me want to go back and rebuild. Love how bright the fish tank looks. and the overall design. Well done!!!
  2. My least favorite has to be the 2014 Batmobile and Riddler dragster. The Flash was the only redeeming quality the set had. The Riddler's skinny awkward looking mess of a dragster was, in my opinion, the worst vehicle the theme has had, and the racer Riddler figure, with the two toned legs, zipper and scarf was again in my opinion one of the worst minifigures produced by both the DC and Marvel lines. I never liked the Beware the Batman show and so the Batman variant wasn't one I was too excited to have, and while the Batmobile was fine, we had seen far superior ones. I agree the Spider-man tricycle set was bad, but for the size and price I feel only half of the set sucked, as I liked the minifigures and Electro build. Idk. This is an interesting thread though.
  3. Considering this is a Captain America title and he didn't even appear in one of his own movie's sets... Iron Man only being in one set seems reasonable.
  4. What's this for? Has Kang been confirmed for something?!? I'm confused as hell and need answers please
  5. In all fairness recently we have seen a good shift in gear when it comes to characters... kinda. Last year we not only got the Justice League and, thanks to the MCU, Ultron and Ant-Man. This year while we have gone back to Batman and Spidey being in the limelight they have started to use more variants and include different, lesser known characters (Hyperion and Blue Beetle or Scorpion and Katana). And with the Marvel movies taking up at least 3 spots a year for Marvel it is understandable why TLG would want to reserve remaining sets for Spider-man. Although in saying all that I do think 2018+ will accommodate us with what we want to an extent. Justice League comes out next year and so does the new Spider-man film, so I would predict we will see a decline in comic based Spider-man sets and have a more well rounded line-up for Marvel in future. As for DC, I would hope the rise in popularity with other characters will persuade LEGO to do do more than Batman but, that is being extremely optimistic. If anything I think the best we will get from DC is something similar to last years line, where it has a focus on more characters but batman still overshadows most sets. And while I agree they do need more changes in the way they produce sets, I also have the stance that they shouldn't be putting out sets that children won't buy because they have no interest in who Iron Fist is. The days where they start producing sets with say: Flash, Ted Kord, and the Question vs Toy Man and Pied Piper may seem like a dream come true until the line is discontinued the next year for not selling enough to call for another series. I want to see this theme go for as long as it possibly can so if that means another Batmobile or another Spider-man vs Doctor Octopus. So be it. I'm happy building up a roster of characters with baby steps.
  6. The new batsuit introduced in Batman #50 is one I would love to see LEGO eventually make. I want a new 52 Professor Zoom, the one with the black lines tracing his body. I think that design is so cool and one of the best he has had. While I can't (and won't) speak for Nitro, it is common to refer to Eobard Thawne as 'Reverse Flash' and/ or 'Professor Zoom' whereas Hunter Zolomon usually just goes by 'Zoom'.
  7. In my personal opinion I wouldn't want a Bane big-fig. Maybe in like 20 years when other, more deserving characters *coughDoomsday&Atrocituscough* have been made, but his height and size in most incarnations justify the minifigure scale and I'm fine with it. I must say though, the Nightwing has me excited. The red torso on the previous figure wasn't bothering as much as the red in his eyes, so to see the white eyes on top of that blue is amazing, and was revealed at the perfect time. Still giddy over BVS so I needed something to take my mind off it.
  8. I think the examples of what you'd like to see are great. I would want to see them all as well. As do I agree with everything you said. It is annoying to have only a small select few henchman and goons for heroes to take on, however in saying that I see exactly why we haven't. See LEGO currently only has the "construction based toys" licenses as companies like Hasbro, Diamond Select or Mattel already obtain the "action figure license" and it would mean LEGO would have to pay more money than it initially would have to gain the licenses to sets, packs or blind bags containing just army building characters. Which means TLG has to put each character in with builds. The Iron Man vs Ultron or Cap vs Chitauri were great sets but to buyers it could be a potential pass, because of the lack of a "Boss" type villain on top of the builds aren't anything special. And there are only so many builds (you could sell at that price in those small sets and without being overly repetitive) you could pitch before you can't justify it being a set.
  9. I'm a very lucky man to married to someone with connections to Warner and got a free screening! Movie was great, I was just pointing out in like close to every scene "That should be a set. No that should. Ooh and that too."
  10. I just saw Batman V Superman early and without spoiling anything they need to make more sets. So many missed opportunities..
  11. In my opinion they look next to perfect for what they are. What were you expecting from a Disney series? Could have been alot worse *coughsimpsonscough*
  12. I am gonna drop a big ol disagree right here in saying each of these characters are not only recognizable as disney characters but also look as a minifigure should. I think with the exception of Buzz and possibly the size of Genie they nailed the look ofeach and every one. This is exactly what i for one was hoping for and i could not be happier with this. Lets hope Lilo is in a series 2 though.
  13. Can a mod or J2G update the front page? Hearing a lot of names being confirmed and rumoured heavily, ye most have no mention on the first post. It's just getting hard to follow is all. I'm with you. I'd be beyond disappointed if they take the LEGO look out of these minifigures. Funko Pops didn't mould their Disney characters faces and they are still recognisable.
  14. Actually he wasn't in the game because of the whole Sony/ Disney deal. They still are working out the licensing agreements between the two companies. Spider-man is Marvel's biggest character and has been an Avenger. If they could have put him in a game full of Disney Avengers, they would've. But yes. Wait until Civil War. A certain DLC may have some surprises. This won't happen, at least not anytime soon. But if it would I guess that'd be cool. What would be the setting/ main hub? Who's storylines would we follow? Would they have conflict with each other or fight a common threat? Good concept material. But right now, I don't think it was anything more than an easter egg.
  15. Yeahhh no. Each to their own I guess, but Ra's has always typically had those little points in his hair, so hopefully we either get a Wolverine type hair piece or the Joker styled hair. And true Lego is lazy, but Talia won't reuse Catwoman's torso. Maybe something generic from an older wave sure, but I highly doubt that too.
  16. it came out a few months back, going off memory it had Killer Moth, Ra's Al Ghul, Talia, Red Hood, Blue Beetle Katana and maybe Killer Croc... basically was a whole bunch of unlikely characters we ended up getting, with the exception of Ra's and Talia.
  17. To be fair, many who are going to by this set, won't have the farmer from tmnt set. I can see how this is annoying for collectors but this is a new minifigure to the majority who buy this set. And correct me if I'm wrong but the banana seller was only new because there was no previous banana seller... I guess what I'm saying is if it isn't broken, don't fix it. The farmer is a fine minifigure and as someone who doesn't have him yet he is welcomed. If it were a reused torso from the same line, I would feel the same but come on man... I'm happy all around. Superheroes has never had super strong builds (DC especially) so to have 3/4 come out as decent as they have, on top of the awesome minifigures, is just exciting to me. Both of these will be day one purchases for me.
  18. Wouldn't rule them out. Wouldn't hold my breath for them either. Time will tell I guess. And it's not even like it's a long time... they release in June, we should have something more concrete soon. :)
  19. I called Red Hood when ya'll were saying Two-face and such. Just saying. This year is definitely shaping up to be an extremely good year for not only the Superhero sets but LEGO in general. Although i am most excited for these Superhero sets. I mean Blue Beetle and Red Hood. Just hope its Ted Kord.
  20. This. DalekBuster I sort of love you in this weird way. We don't agree on anything. Anything. Doesn't matter the topic. We just don't agree.
  21. Yeah fair enough. Just thought of him because he is animated to stand and walk/ use his hands like a human, but I think I agree.
  22. You know they are the same character right? A villain isn't defined by what they look like so a regular Jafar would fit just as well. It would be like getting Bartman before Bart. Sure it's arguably cooler, but not what I think of when I hear Bart. in the original Aladdin you see see the genie form for less than a minute. I think it only gets a few shots in while he looks like Jafar through out the whole movie. I'm not saying I don't like his Genie form I'm saying I'd rather get the proper Jafar before a variant. Would the trumpet playing Crocodile/ Aligator be a candidate for "creature" type minifigs? I can't remember his name but he was the one of the best characters in the Princess and the Frog along with Dr. Facilier.
  23. Aaaaand top shelf display spot goes to.... Although I think my wife will kill me if she found out I spent that much on a Batcave... -sigh- The Lego Group. Slowly causing divorces since 1932.
  24. were those up for sale? or just someone's customs? either way nice find, they look very well done.
  25. I love this line up of characters!! Although I do think I would rather more new characters before we got an onslaught of variants. Doesn't take away the fact I want each of these!!
