To be honest I was not a huge fan of the Speeder, I bought it when it came out and it has been collecting dust ever since. But then I saw the "Pimp Rey's Speeder" contest and that got me excited on this forgotten little set. I present you: Rey's Micro Speeder It's the smallest I could come up with, still keeping some details. I had to keep the electric saw, favorite part Studshooters can't hold ammo I'm afraid...but it's a nice detail. The underside so you can see how that fits. It can allmost fit in the original ! That's it, flying off now. Hope you liked it

Thanks, I only wish Lego would make those 1x2 curved slopes I used in the front in transparent colours so that they can be used as headlights....

Indeed, I've got 3 now (parted out 2 sets this morning) and already the hinges from both sets are used in my mini- Tie Advanced (w.i.p. pics coming when it is done) I needed 12 ! for the wings. Lots of other great pieces are in that little set besides the clear printed canopy. I also have an itch for mocing my own x-wing chibby chubby starfighter, but my todo list is gi-gan-tic... I should not do this, cause it's a w.i.p. but this mini- Tie Advanced project got me excited....teaser photo: .

Believe me I've tried, there is just no way the canopy can close.

The Death Star has been blown up........twice. So why buy this set if you already know it's going to be blown up again ? To expensive for me BUT I did like Vader's little TIE Fighter and I had the parts so I build it using http://lego.brickinstructions.com/lego_instructions/set/10188/SW_Death_Star (I can't do that word-link thingy, I'm a n00b). So it is done and I am trying to fit in a Minifig.... The fig fits, but the front canopy can't close completely because of the figs hands. I am sure I've build it correctly, internet says it fits, can somebody help me out here ?

Absolutely loving them Raskolnikov ! Awesome solution for the top of the cockpit,didn't think of using the curved slopes like you did. (thirth picture) The opening hatch is a big +, my T.T. (Tie Trainer, just made that up ) can't do that. I was also planning on doing more mini-Ties after seeing darth vaders mini tie from the deathstar set, it's in the same scale as our mocs. I've ordered 2 more Micro Tie Interceptors (75031) for there cockpit screens, which will arrive tomorrow.(they are no longer being sold in shops from this month on.) "is there any particular reason you wanted to use this scale?" Yes, I grew up with lego in the 80's. Sets where small and simple and gave way for kids like me to use there imagination and add things to the model (models in that day still had studs on top, today everything has to be smooth adding lots of tiles) Also, minifigs are mini, sets nowadays are too big i.m.o. for minifigs. ( I still prefer 4-wide cars over 6- wide e.g.) + I like building mocs that look like 10 $ lego sets. B.t.w. why not make a topic here sharing your models ?
