Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Just noticed something, but do the pieces venom is holding look like new parts to any one else? They don't look like any other blade/tooth/spike that exists. If so, wierd choice on Lego's part, unless they were made for another theme. -
Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

I'm actually pretty happy with these figures, especially since a decent amount of them are new! I'm really liking doc ock, with the balljointed arms and well detailed claws, as well as the overall design of that new figure. The sandman being new is quite the surprise, and the printed arms on spiderman look fantastic! Well, the arms look similar, the head and hair like you said, and the absence of yellow are the things that I see in common. It's definitely not close enough to be official though. -
Oh yeah, and whatever it is it's got something to do with dragons, so maybe there's some hope.

Looking at the sesame street set, what are the chances that the mysterio fig uses that recolored dome piece (on the street sign)? If it does, that's one more reason to get that set despite the lackluster build. -
Ok, sorry, but I'm pretty sure the list is fake. I found the post that includes that "preliminary" logo and it also included a ridiculously obvious fake set that photoshopped together set https://brickset.com/sets/7078-1/King-s-Battle-Chariot And the dragon from set https://brickset.com/sets/7094-1/King-s-Castle-Siege. I'm pretty sure it's all made up.

Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

Well, there goes my excitement for the cap Mech. It’s not a bad suit, and it’s definitely different form the other dark blue ones we’ve gotten so far, but all I really wanted from this was a new bright blue comic cap, and this ain’t it. Heck, this costume would probably look really good in blue, but of course, we don’t get that. Ugh. -
Oooh, the minifig leaks have begun! I’m liking the more disheveled look, also the hair piece and the faceprint with face paint. Also, the combo of the dark body and legs with bright arms is a new combo, I think. I’m excited to see the rest (as well as the islanders)!

Another thing about the update, you don't need a ghost to do it, you can activate in the app instead! I like that, as it doesn't shut out everyone who doesn't have those sets, but also allows for some extra interactivity with existing parts and enemies. Also, the app says there are more challenges in the future, I'm glad they can try more creative things with this technology. I wonder if something like this will be used for two-player with Luigi? -

That one is transparent, and that’s because the part is molded in the same plastic as other transparent pieces, unlike the wings which are made of a different material. -
LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

Well, those leaks came from the catalogs that stores use to order stock. Since these are LEGO.com exclusives, they have no reason to be in the catalog, unless we happened to get leaks from a Chinese catalog in the near future (very unlikely). I think we’ll have to wait to see what’s next for Monkie Kid -
Looking more at these pictures, I realized something. In all of the tournament of element sets, the only anacondrai cultist included seems to be eyezor, the one with the Mohawk. I’m really hoping that they’re placeholders, because getting three of the same guy across all three sets would be annoying, especially since they had such variety in the original wave. Seriously, at least include Master Chen in one of them or something. I know these are preliminary and the things can change, but out of all the leaks we’ve seen, I’d argue these are the most finalized, and because of that I’m worried that this will actually be he case. Hopefully not. edit: on a more positive note, it appears the tournament of elements set uses the weapon pack in trans green as the jade blades, very cool.

I think I saw that picture too... it looks incredibly fake, the gold color does not have any shine to it at all. I think with the legacy gold Cole being revealed, expect a lot of fake photoshop leaks of past suits into gold.
-
We got to see the rest of them! The temple is great, the totem pole comes alive and the cliff turns into a snake, it's like a hidden side set. Also, it appears to come with three ninja and the main bad guy, so that's cool. The dragon looks ok and the bike has a sail on it, besides that it's more of the same. The electro mech is just bad looking (I know, it's 4+, but still), and the ninja charger looks sleeker than before. The boulder blaster really does look identical, but I can't tell if it has less shooters. I like what we're seeing!

I'm liking the dodge charger and the miles and cap mechs, the rest is a disappointment. The lair is very generic, and the monster truck is straight up ugly, it's just s rectangle on wheels. Even the other spidey vehicles atleast were decent builds, if useless, but this is just bad. Also, I called the hidden side piece, but with how ugly that truck is, I don't think I'll get it. The thor mech looks jumbled, especially with the tan legs, but the miles mech is unique and has the hood piece, and the cap mech appears to have a comic cap, which I'm happy about. The charger looks sick, so I'll be getting that for sure. The rest? Probably not... -
I both like and don’t like this decision, because the gold Cole suit looks awesome, and this makes them completely unique in how they look, but I also don’t like how they won’t have cohesion and will feel out of place. Then again, it makes more sense for a 10 years celebration to do it this way. I wonder if they’ll bring back old hood pieces for this, because a lot of them are out of production, or will they force themselves to only do more modern ones? I hope the first is true and not the second, after all it’s 10 years, not just the past 2 or 3.
-
It does look really nice, I'm just worried it may not have much of an interior, since it's just a cliffside with a totem pole. Also, is that the weapon pack piece in white? I love getting new colors for those! It'll also be cool to see the prints/stickers that go on the totem pole, as well as the figures. It all looks pretty cool, but I can't wait to see the dragon, I'm hoping it's unique in how it looks.

Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

We should have sene this coming, but I’m still disappointed. We don’t even get any new vilians, at least last year we had mysterio! Heck, there aren’t even many new figs, only Robbie Reyes and 2 of the suits (I’m convinced the one with the gold symbol is just this year’s iron spider again). My only hope is that the different hair piece for doc ock might imply a new figure, but maybe they just took the old one and have him a haircut. Also, I don’t know why any of you have hope for the green goblin minifig, it’s going to be the 2019 juniors one, I’m sure. (edit: I hope they aren’t sticking with the MCU ‘mysterio uses drones’ thing, because if so I feel like the set won’t include any illusionary things) -
What’s that supposed to mean? The movie came out three years ago, of course they are all retired by now. That means nothing. I don’t think Ninjago is ending soon at this rate. Now, if the 4 sets per season sticks and legacy sets go down, then we’re in trouble. Right now, it’s fine.

I’m sure he’s not alone in that set. Since it’s with the other Spider-Man sets, I’m guessing it’ll be like last time and we’ll get Spider-Man and, looking at last year’s sets, some repeat villain. I’m glad the set is only $20 dollars, we’ll actually get a normal sized car in an action theme, instead of the usual massive $30-$40 dollar one-seaters. uhh, do stud shooters count? Those are guaranteed for sure. Also, I’m willing to bet it’s got a forward rake or larger tires in the back. I hope we’re lucky. -

Am I the only one hoping that one of these sets uses this piece (https://brickset.com/sets/containing-part-6317556) for mysterio? Even if the figure was the same, that accessory would totally make it worth it. Beyond that, pleas give us some new villains, but if the buggy set is any sign of what’s coming, I guess we’ll be disappointed. Also, for the Cap Mech, I would like it to be a comic suit, so the new helmet can be made in blue. That would make the Mech worth it, for me at least. I wouldn’t mind these Mech sets as long as they provide new figures that we won’t get 5 of in the next wave (square enix iron man). -

Yeah, but supposedly Spider-Man has printed arms in the 4+ set! I wouldn’t have expected that, but I hope that figure is in the other sets too. -

With that many pieces in 71380, either Luigi is much cheaper because they already developed the technology with Mario, or it’s like Toad’s Treasure Hunt and just has a surprisingly small parts count... I’m hoping it’s the latter. I’m also excited we’re getting another character series, hopefully I’ll have better luck with this one! (Right now I have three bob-ombs sitting my desk. Ow.) I hope these new expansion sets offer some interesting new features or enemies or something, even a new biome would be cool. I hope we had the names of these, that would make this more interesting, but as it is, I’m glad to see we’ll be getting more soon! -
I'm personally so excited for this legacy wave. I really regret not getting any of the tournament of elements sets, especially the boulder blaster, but now this one is coming out! It's also strange to note that Zane's titan mech battle is the only legacy set so far to have the same price as the original. Since I have the original, I might be cool to compare them in person. Also, I'm hoping the $30 tournament of elements is like this year's gamer market, we could finally get more of the elemental masters we're missing! The epic battle sets could be interesting, especially since they have 2 figures each. This is all looking like it's going to be good! Beyond that, I'm sad that season 14 has only 4 sets. I hope they're good atleast, especially since the sea battle sounds interesting.

Well now the sets are listed at shop@home in the U.S. https://www.lego.com/en-us/themes/monkie-kid The release date is listed as September, not August. Also, the speedboat is indeed $60. Yay. -

Yeah, I saw that too. I have no idea where those prices are from. Even the sources he links in his video don't have any prices. He could just know through his connections, but then it's also weird that no one else is saying that either. Beyond that, I like these sets. I thought the cloud dragster would be a boring build, but it looks great! I'm not going to get it l, but I'm impressed. Sandy's speedboat looks nice to me, I like the more unique build, and the spider queen minifigure is really good. I'm slightly peeved they didn't include pigsy's pitchfork though. The flaming foundry is kind of disappointing. I don't like how the mini demon bull king looks, the head especially, and the base feels kind of empty. The only one of these I'm considering is the speedboat, but much less so of that $60 price is right.
