Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, right now it’s too old, absolutely out of production, but if it’s new it’ll be very similar. -

I do really think this is the best reason as to why we’ll get a new faceprint, just because none of the current ones work for a bald minifig. -

I’m guessing that they could make a new hair/beard combo to make it work, I really don’t think a face print alone would do it, it’s too long, and none of the hair pieces of that style that LEGO has now would fit a beard piece. So, I’m thinking a new piece like this: https://brickset.com/parts/6038649/wig-w-beard-no-48-no-1 -

Oh no, so much pressure! Looking closer, I realized that that face is double sided, so it wouldn’t work if you took of the helmet, and I think LEGO would be better than that(hopefully) -

Yeah, looking back at the Detroit Steel set, despite being in a minifig version of the suit, the figure is called Justin Hammer, so I think this will be the same situation. We’ll get the face print though, at least. (unless they use something like this: https://brickset.com/sets/containing-part-6120831 but I’m hoping not) -

It's an iron man suit, of course it'll have leg printing. Even though those suits are similar, this one will probably be different just because it's been nearly a decade since they designed those last ones, as the graphic design will be updated to what Lego does now. As to the helmet, I'm not sure what they will do. I could see lego using the MCU helmet again, since I'm pretty sure 2 years is not long enough for the mold to be completely gone, but I could see the new helmet being used too. Besides ,if it looks like cm4sci's one, I wouldn't mind too much. -

Yeah, but maybe, like you said before, we can combine these, if not intentionally, then with the parts of the two. After all, it is LEGO, so we can make it better! About the stones, that set better have them all, it would be silly if it didn’t, especially since it’s the only set this wave with any at all. I have them all, but I know that not everyone was able to do so, and with the other sets being retired, if they don’t all come in here then there’s really no way for a new collector to get them all without resorting to used sets. -

Honestly, this is the first time in a while where I don’t really care about the builds much at all. I’m happy to get the van though, so even if the compound isn’t very good, there’s the van and the figures, so I’ll be fine with it. -

Really, no sleeves? Good thing I have the old version... Why would it be? If it has captain marvel and iron man, it’s definitely endgame. -

Given the set is endgame final battle, I suspect it’s the armored version, but if the MCU legacy subtheme continues, we could get IW Thanos in the future. -

Probably similarly comical proportions, but given the minifig Thanos, I think he’ll fit inside. -

I translated the article in Google translate, I didn’t see any mention of any other build other than the mech. -

A few more thoughts I had, also looking at the build descriptions... Interesting the Benatar has a ucs stand, makes me wonder if it’s minifig scale or just for display. The rotating head for Thanos makes me slightly worried, because we’ve gotten big figs in the past with minifig heads (https://brickset.com/sets/75977-1/Junkrat-Roadhog, https://brickset.com/sets/70642-1/Killow-vs-Samurai-X, https://brickset.com/sets/70144-1/Laval-s-Fire-Lion) but they’ve always had some large headgear to make it look less silly, so many not, but that doesn’t change the fact that it is a possibility... I hope the final battle includes both of Thor’s hammers, that would complete the scene. The broken shield would be cool too. I also wonder if Thanos has his sword, and if he does, how is it built? This is so exciting! -

Let’s goooo! my only disappointment is the hydra goon in the small set, everything else is amazing! The figure selection of the final battle is the best I could have ever imagined, the entire Trinity+ Scarlet Witch, the new black panther helmet, and a bald Thanos? The sanctuary II is, um, interesting. I’ll probably get it, but I wonder what minifig Thanos will look like. What if that set has a minifig scale stark gauntlet? I officially do not care about the benatar, and that’s good for me! Same with the captain America set, and maybe the dragon flyer too. Less money I’ll be spending in June. -

I think a lot of people are expecting too much from this 4+ set. There has never been a $10 4+ set with more than 2 figs, and I don’t see a particular reason that this set would break that trend. Now that you bring up the bike, however, I could see it using the frame pieces from this set: https://brickset.com/sets/76172-1/Spider-Man-and-Sandman-Showdown, maybe in dark blue with some red parts to make a bike, and a small build for hydra, like Sandman’s catapult. -

Really, that’s just a good guess on our part. To me it would make the most sense, as Red Skull is the most iconic villain he’s had yet in the MCU and 4+ sets tend to focus on iconic villains and not random henchmen. I hope it has the newer missile piece from last year’s sets, I’ve wanted that piece but didn’t get any of the sets with it, and it’s included in quite a few 4+ sets so far. -

I could see why that is. For me, I’ll try to get the cap set (if it has red skull), the iron monger, and the final battle. Depending on what the benatar set is like, I might try to get it, but it would have to be later/if I have the money to do so. The D2C is decidedly out of my budget, and I’m already trying to get barracuda bay, so I don’t think that’ll work out. -

With the comparison to Ninjago City in mind, since that set has vertical differentiation, maybe this one has more horizontal differentiation, smaller slivers of buildings as to more closely simulate a city like New York. Imagine, the bugle in the middle, 1 or 2 smaller buildings to each side, a blaseplate and a half in total. That way, you can have an alley and a villain base, along with Parker’s apartment or anything else that would fit. There’s so much possibility! -

Wait a second, Ninjago City was 300... what if this is the equivalent of Ninjago city but for marvel? Incredibly detailed, loads of figures, and the start of a line of D2Cs. Maybe I’m hoping for too much, but I can’t be the only one seeing the similarities already! -

I could also see an apartment for Peter Parker, that could be very neat. I’m not sure what else could be there, though, but maybe those two could be enough to fill the set. I feel like anything else would just be generic buildings that would be OK, but I would prefer more Marvel specific things. -

I probably should look at the conversation closer next time before responding, oops. Yeah, that kind of schedule for one set would make no sense, but I guess we'll find out as we get a little closer to the date. -

Oh, yeah, that much is absolutely true. If this is about the D2C, then the august date could be when the set is sold at all retailers, and not just LEGO. I remember this was the case with the Winnie the Pooh set, there were 2 release dates, one a few months later, and that’s what the later date was. -

This is the direction I feel like is more likely, but I’m not sure what it could be that wouldn’t make everyone mad. Maybe it’s funny like the hulk buster is, some strange design choice? last year’s hall of armor expansion was the exact same situation, it wouldn’t surprise me to see LEGO do this again. -

I’m really glad the 18+ set is the infinity gauntlet, that sounds like it could be a great display piece. $70 is probably a great size for it, big enough to be impressive, but not too massive either. I might get it, but not over the rest of the wave. -

I think the helmet will be generic enough to work for a variety of Black Panther suits, kind of like the new ant-man and iron man helmets. I just remembered while typing this, but we still need to get a new wasp helmet using the newer helmet piece. Could she be in the final battle set?
