Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, in europe. Most summer sets come out in june in europe, but august in the U.S. Because of that, we'll probably see pictures in may, but there's no guarantee for a worldwide june release. -

Oh, I know, I even have that set. I was just joking, it’s probably the new molds for spider ham and the new shooter that boost the price like that. Still doesn’t make it worth it. -

$80? That’s just silly! I still want it, so I think I might use my vip pints or look for discounts at target/Wal-Mart. I bet on day of release it’ll already be like 20% off there. If not, I’ll wait for a few months, maybe till august. I guess LEGO must have some requirement for dinosaur sets to be overpriced, because else this doesn’t make any sense. edit: just noticed the official out of box picture for the set doesn’t have Spider-Man on it, strange mistake. -

Oh, I kind of forgot that was a thing. Best guess, lego will reveal monkey kid around the time it will be/supposed to be, even if they don't go themselves. -

I just realized something... Is there any toy fair like event in China? Or something else that would be a more "fitting" place to show off something like this? Maybe lego wants to hit close to the main market for this theme, they might want to unveil it there. -

I guess it's still possible, but pictures of the spiderman set already leaked. Then again, liscensed sets usually do get seen before embargo, but it's not the same for original themes. You could say there's hope, but I don't know. -

Who knows? In 2018, LEGO held their own small scale event where they showed selective sets, including the app controlled bat mobile, there’s always a chance they could do that again. They could also show a teaser tomorrow, and do a normal press release later, like they did for Batman sets last year and Hidden Side sets this year. Sure, neither of those are bombastic reveals, but it’s possible. In reality, toy fair is still the best bet for a big reveal, but I’m just not sure that it’ll happen at this point. I’m conflicted at this point, I guess we’ll see tomorrow. -

I’m not so sure anymore... last year, hidden side had a press release beforehand, and so did a lot of the other sets shown off too. Such a big reveal could be done out of “nowhere”, but it seems less likely as LEGO is doing more and more press releases. I mean, it’s still possible we see something tomorrow, but I wouldn’t have since high hopes. -
Minions 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Just saw an image of The inside of the buildable minions, it’s ten times cooler now! I mean, still absolutely hate the yellow things, but I can admire the builds here, that set is Definitely the best of the bunch. -

The big day is here, all the sets have been revealed! https://www.promobricks.de/lego-minions-setbilder/95268/ A lot of these sets feel overpriced to me, I already didn’t care much for the theme, now even less so. I do like how they designed the mini figs though, the printed tiles for eyes are a clever use of normal LEGO parts and allows for more expression. -
LEGO Hidden Side 2020
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
On top of this, Hidden Side was shown last year because it was a new theme. That's not the case anymore, and because of that lego has no reason to show these sets. The only non-licensed theme I have any expectations to see is monkey kid, specifically because it's new. -

Well, he’s not claiming to have any info anymore, so he’s just speculating like the rest of us. I don’t see anything wrong with that. -

Yeah, “only 1HY sets”, then they immediately reveal a set for September, definitely not 1HY. I’ve got much more hope for more interesting reveals now, they should show at least one set, or maybe like they did for Nexo Knights at NYCC (two sets, but also all of the minifigs). It starts the day after tomorrow, so I guess we’ll find out soon. -
Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
All we know is that MODOK is in the helicarrier, and there is nothing to suggest that they will be in any of the sets, so set discussions don’t really need to involve them, and since it really does seem to be a spoiler (completely unannounced and unexpected), I don’t think we really have any good reason to spoil it for everyone. Ah well, maybe she’s one of the two unknowns in Avengers Tower? She wasn’t in the original promo material, LEGO could have considered it enough of a spoiler to hide her, like they did for shocker in homecoming. -

I feel like those are too much of a spoiler to put in the sets. Like yeah, we haven't seen MODOK, but AIM is the villian, he's rather obvious. Meanwhile, they are probably meant to be more of a surprise. So, I don't expect any of them at all, though it would be interesting. -

NYTF hopefully will bring something, so I guess it’s just a waiting game. -

I think what the theme should do is define a boundary: it's this sci-fi, not more or less, rather than ninjago which went crazy after year 1 pretty much. As long as it starts with low sci-fi, and stays that way, I'm fine with it. Just keep it under control, please. -

The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Good point, if the villians have some light tech, like a toned down version of 2011 ninjago, I think it would be better than full on sci-fi fantasy. -

So, we've got another figure leak, a villian this time! The bull helmet and magenta color are great, but this might reignite our fears: it looks like it might be tech based. It's got tubes and air vents and a gunmetal color scheme. A man can still have hope, but now it's slightly diminished... -
Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nice catch, the captain marvel on this year’s boxes is new, so you may be on to something. Then again, cap and iron man are also strange mixes of previous and current figures as well, it might just be some artistic liberty, who knows. About this, I also saw on Instagram that she’ll get a new helmet piece? Any validity to that, or just wishful thinking? Another smiling hulk, like the on the box, would be a disappoint though. I only have the compound and heli hulks, and it would be nice to have a normal angry one, but I guess that’s what Bricklink is for... About that, I’m kind of caught between wanting more aim agents, but also some new hydra agents, since only one came in a set 6 years ago. Maybe a mix of both? Or how about a shied agent in the helicarrier? There are just so many organizations with agents in the marvel universe, it could be anyone. (Probably just aim) -

I'm so much more excited for this wave now! The helicarrier is such a nice surprise, and a brick built modok sounds like it could be great. The avengers tower sounds impressive, and I'm glad we're getting another red skull after all these years. The hulkbuster still sound boring, and the 4+ set sound interesting, but I'll have to see it before I say anything. I do wonder, could one of the captain marvels be ms. marvel? She's a big part of the new game, so I would not be surprised to get her. I just really can't wait to see these, cross your fingers for NYTF! -

All you guys are acting like fantasy and vehicles can’t coexist at all. Even elves had vehicles, things like carriages, boats, and siege weapons. Animals especially took the place of vehicles, and Dragons have been used in Ninjago since the theme’s creation. Will this theme be mostly locations? Probably not, but that doesn’t mean we’ll getting cars and helicopters in a theme based on Chinese mythology. -

I feel like that’s not the best assumption to make... who knows what direction LEGO could take with this theme. Besides, the rumor of the location sets came from Harkonen, and it seems some of what he said was reliable and some of it was not. I don’t know anymore, I’ll just hope for the best. -

One thing I do hope for is that, unlike these sets, the sets don't only focus on monkey king (or kid, I guess). I want the other characters to get some of the spotlight too, since they are not as well known, atleast from what I understand.
