  1. I think this is like how the Lego Movie 2 had 2 summer waves, (one in april and another in august) so my guess would be soon, maybe when the other episodes of the show start airing, since the first wave was just the pilot episode. I also noticed, looking back, that the Malaysian shop@home page doesn't have any prices on it (I guess they can't ship to Malaysia?) So maybe the lack of pictures is a mistake? It could also be that July is the release date for Asia and that they'll be released later here, that would make some sense.
  2. Exactly, and it would also be strange to not even know these exist, let alone see them, by now, since it seems that even September releases have official pictures up. For some more context, the posts are from detective_azani, and the pictures are the same ones we've been seeing of the shop at home description, but then the caption says "Coming to LEGO brand stores and Shop@Home in July of 2020!"
  3. So... I found a post on Instagram that says these are for this month? And it's not just some random account, it's from an actual leaker, but I'm not too sure about it. Then again, we've already had this happen before (remember the price discussion?) so I don't want to immediately dismiss this, but it just doesn't seem right? It could also just be an assumption on his part, but I don't know...
  4. Yeah, I just found that too, but to me it looks like a GWP, it's really just a handful of pieces, maybe another poly bag even. I'm really looking forward to Sandy's speedboat, since I was thinking of getting the iron bull tank just for him, but this sounds much more interesting. I also want to see the foundry, I've always had a soft spot for the massive base vehicles, but couldn't afford the $170 HQ. I'm also glad that we're getting more, especially with better villian variety, only 2 bull clones in the whole wave! I wonder when these release... not too far in the future, because else they wouldn't be posted, but September sets are already up with images, so maybe October? Or with that extra minecraft set in December?
  5. Ouch, if that's the case, then I guess I won't be buying as many as I thought I would... They aren't too terrible for value, they've got the parts for sure, and their size works out ok, it's just that there are so many more large sets than cheap ones that it gets hard to get more than a couple of sets. Seriously, we need more small sets in general, I think they can have a ton of value for their size. But, here we are, 3 sets that cost more that $100 dollars in one wave.
  6. But the past hulkbuster models already use that smaller piece? Because this is the only piece like that windscreen but smaller, https://brickset.com/parts/6244781 But that's the piece that the other hulkbuster heads were, so there would be no difference, in that respect. I'm confused...
  7. Yeah, I have no idea where he got that from. I haven't heard anything. If it's true, I'd love it, but I don't want to be let down by this theme yet another time...
  8. Yeah, but his point is that not everything was shown at toy fair. Mario wasn't there either, there's been loads of surprises this year. Then again, part of me thinks he might be referring to the adventures Easter eggs in the haunted house drop tower? I'm just not sure...
  9. I think we can definitively answer this now look at the blue print image here: you can see that the helicarrier has wheels on the bottom, the tires are visible underneath the model. I think the pieces are meant to be put on the bottom to keep the model from rolling around, in order to display it easier. It's a nice inclusion, I don't think we usually see things like this very often. Another thing I notice, you can see in the top half of the image that an axle runs right through the middle portion of the ship, that's why the space there is unusable. It's a shame that so much of the space inside this thing is just empty for the sake of fitting a few gears and axles inside. Maybe you could change the mechanism to open up more space?
  10. They are already on Instagram, check Falconfan's page. Whoever noticed the castle was mostly grey was right, and I'm really liking that figure with the funky leg piece, it's cool. I'm interested in who these new villains are, too. I also like how it can close/open up, the model's more dynamic that way.
  11. Yeah, they don't look very much alike... If you look here at the various comic designs over the years, I think you can see a little more of what they were going for https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/S.H.I.E.L.D._Helicarrier
  12. I've given myself some time to really get what I feel about this set, but I'm still not sure about it... My biggest problem is how rectangular the body is. If they just had some inverted slopes on the bottom, or some curved panels on the sides, I would like the overall shape better. MODOK's face is too recessed into the build, the rectangular shape of the rest of the body compared to the cylinder head doesn't work and it's weird how the windscreen colors are inconsistent between the helicarrier and the small jet. However, I think some of the stranger design choices can be explained. The open space at the back looks to be prison cell for MODOK, it's big enough, and the technic beams are meant to be bars. The rotors are so high up because they can be pitched forwards and back, the front left rotor in the video is leaning slightly forwards. With all of the gears in the model as well, I hope there's some mechanism to move and rotate the rotors in unison, that would be impressive. I feel like I need some more pictures to really know what I think. What is the interior like? What can the model do? What's with all the yellow plates? I'm just not sure if I want this set yet.
  13. Thanks for putting the links to these! I really find it a hassle to get good looks at things like this on Instagram, so having these in the original quality is much better. If only I could find these for every theme... About these sets, any interest I had in them is down the tubes. The penguin one is OK, but there's no way I'm getting that batbuggy 2.0. Maybe next year...
  14. Yeah, that's a good point. It's entirely possible that these are mainly produced in China. About the prices, I just feel like it's too much of a coincidence how similar they are, and also because it's hard to tell how much the tariff really does affect all of this. In the end, we really don't have any clear answers to all of this, so I guess we'll just stay in the dark for now. Back to set discussion, I wonder how the two mechs scale to each other? If the two of them together look good, then that would be one awesome display, especially with any sort of city for them to fight in! I've just loved all of these large scale mechs recently, there's something about that kind of scale that's just impressive. I also love some of the more silly details, like the demon bicycle and burnt hot dog in the inferno truck set, and Pigsy's various hot dog weapons. Some classic Lego fun! Edit: Wait, Jang just re-uploaded his Monkie Kid video... is that a mistake, or has something changed? I also hadn't seen the parts counts until now, those prices are making some more sense with the larger ones now...
  15. Well, Lego is only mentioned in the article as an example of how companies have responsibly shifted manufacturing to china, there is nothing on how the tariff affects it. Obviously this affects Lego, but as to how much is unclear, mostly because they already have other factories that they use. About the price differences, here are 2 sets from city last year that have a $20 difference https://brickset.com/sets/60229-1/Rocket-Assembly-Transport https://brickset.com/sets/60217-1/Fire-Plane As for the supply chain, why can't lego make a few thousand in Mexico and Hungary for Europe and the U.S. while also making millions in China for China? I think that's how they usually do it anyways, I see no real reason to change it that much. Finally, using the prices from the site these came from, I really do see how we could have gotten these inflated prices... This year's police station? The price listed converts to about $140. The Ninjago Temple of Madness? $110. How about the cyber dragon? $60. It really does look like someone just chucked the prices they saw into a converter and claimed that as a source. I don't mean for any of this to come off as aggressive, I'm just trying to make sense of these things. Either way, I'm sure we'll know what's actually the case sooner or later.
  16. I think you're looking into this too much. Euro prices compared to U.S. prices have always been strange. Some are very similar, like ninjago and creator, some can be more expensive, like marvel, and others are cheaper, like city. I don't think that the difference in this case means anything special. Also, about the tariffs point, aren't these still manufactured all over the world, like they usually are? Is there any reason to believe that they wouldn't be? The prices we see now really do look like just straight up conversions, who's to say the person they got to from didn't do the same thing in the first place? I just can't believe that Lego would make a standard retail $170 dollar set for a completely new original theme. I guess we'll see...
  17. I wonder how soon "soon" is... Anyways, another thing I've noticed so far is that a lot of the larger sets have city buildings as side builds! I loved that from the lego ninjago movie sets, and it's so nice to see them keep it up in another theme. It just adds so much more life to these sets...
  18. Holy hell, this is looking great. Yeah, it's all vehicles, but do you see those mechs? The ship base? This stuff looks great! Wait, if you look at the monkey king mech... Monkie kid is not even the monkey king! There's a more traditional looking version of the character, flying cloud and all! Heck ,the whole set could even be him just using his powers, so I guess in the end we got at least one thing that's more in line with the mythology. Nice.
  19. Yup! Thanks to @Ninja_whip, here's a link to the site it's on https://www.hktvmall.com/hktv/zh/main/LEGO/s/H6966001/玩具圖書/玩具圖書/遊戲玩具/玩具分類/拼砌系列/樂高/LEGOMonkie-Kid-80006-白龍馬戰車-西遊記-孫悟空/p/H6966001_S_80006 I've checked, and this is the only one they have, it's weird, but hey, we've finally seen something! Nevermind, there's more of them... I guess I missed it?
  20. I think the brown panels he stands on can tilt forwards, the arms hold the panels in place, and turning the platform mario is on moves a support out of the way that allows the panels to fall. It's really clever, I must admit, and if more sets have features like that then I'll be happier with these sets.
  21. looking again, there are various other images of the other sets that also have mario in them that make it look like he's included: the polybag promo image on this page does so https://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-super-mario-adventures-with-mario-starter-course-71360-pre-order-on-zavvi/ And one of the extra images for the GWP on brickset does the same: https://brickset.com/sets/40414-1/Monty-Mole-Super-Mushroom-Expansion-Set We know that these sets don't come with mario, so it's fair to guess that this is the case with the castle too. I hope that most of the pictures for these sets don't do this, its really misleading, and it's a lot more intentional than the examples you've listed.
  22. The thing is though, if that's the case, why is Mario in the picture? The other set picture doesn't include him, but the castle one does. Also, the idea of making you have to buy another set to use a $100 dollar one is silly, that would be an especially bad idea. All including him in the picture does, if he's not in it, is to mislead and confuse everyone who looks at it, and I don't feel like that's the point of releasing these set pictures. Then again, this whole theme is kind of confusing, so who knows at this point? My only complaint about the castle so far is that Bowser's head is too big and too flat. Beyond that, I love it. The big Bowser statue looks fantastic. If there's one set I buy, it's this one, especially if Mario is included (even if I do plan on replacing it with my own brickbuilt one)
  23. I'm kind of glad we now know for sure what these sets are.. no more room for speculation, they're all this way. Honestly, bowser's castle looks good. If only we had a nice looking mario to go with it.
  24. And this is definitive proof that mario is only in the starter set. Hoorah.
  25. I really don't like that the box doesn't show the set. It's like lego is admitting that people only buy superhero sets for the minifigs. I seriously hope this is a one off thing.
