He said they would use the same hood pieces, maybe that’s what that means.

LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

Well, we still have the leaked big-fig, so I guess we know it’s system based at least... About that, the big fig shows no sign of technology, so maybe there’s still hope that it’s fantasy? besides, I can’t imagine how you can put vehicles into a story based on the journey to the west. That would be just ridiculous. -
Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
The_Fiery_Rooster replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
This is the first time I'm so severely disappointed in a marvel superheroes set. I mean, last year's compound was tolerable, and I didn't care for any part of this year's spider bike, but does a set like this really need to have an exclusive figure that I want? I'll take a repeated, but new build any day over literal recolor. Also, what is the price of this thing? I've seen both $30 and $40 being thrown around, which is it? If it's forty, I'm even more mad, because it's just less stuff for the same price as the last one. Oh well. The summer wave better pay off... -

Promobricks has an article about this wave: https://www.promobricks.de/lego-hidden-side-neuheiten-spielwarenmesse/94057/ now, I don’t know German, but putting it into google translate clears some things up... the shark in the submarine has green eyes, 3 figs the race car is dark green and looks like a hot rod, 3 figs the prison is not a complete building, just a few walls, 4 figs the fire truck has a ‘Mech’ in the back (they reference transformers), 4 figs and the Castle is like the MF one, they called it exciting, 6 figs. Now, that sounds better. Also, Harkonen’s info about Jurassic World was completely wrong, so let’s forget about Lady E for now... -

I'm really hoping the figure count for the castle is off, only 4 or 5 is too few... -
Future LEGO Pirates Set Speculation

Yeah, after that I'm slightly suspicious... but who knows. Either way, two complete ships is already beyond what usually happens, so I'm happy! -

That info was from Harkonen, in now deleted posts. All we know is what he said, location based, some gimmick sets, and a ship. Right now, we know so little, beyond that the theme exists in the first place. I guess we'll have to see, maybe from a press release before NYTF? -
Future LEGO Pirates Set Speculation

I think it is brick built, the front of the ship has a different shape from the usual hull piece. It looks really good, a great natural shape. The more I look at this, the more I like it! -

I think you can see a few others too, like the captain on top of the cabin (you can see tip of a sword and the feather off of his hat), and in the crow's nest (classic preliminary figure, entirely white in color). I hope that means that they have some new prints! -

Ok, is it me or does it look awfully... small? I do like the proportions, though, and the rolled-up sails are nice. The shark is cool too, and I do want to see the alternate builds. Now that I look at it again, is that rigging on the top of the masts? When's the last time we've seen that on a lego ship? Honestly, I'm still excited for this set, but I'll have to see what else comes out before I know for sure that I'll get it. -
#groups are still working, it's how I just found them. The castle/dungeon is much more lair-like than what I was expecting, whic his kind of a bummer. When's the last time we got an enclosed fortress, in any theme? The "spinner dice", if that's what it is, is a cool idea. The mech isn't that exciting to me, Lloyd's titan mech is filling my large mech needs for now. The new DB looks nice, I wonder if Garmadon has the four elemental weapons or the mega weapon. If it's the latter, then it'll be interesting to see how they translate that into physical form. Also, weird how we are getting leaks for the summer wave, we got nothing for the winter wave...

That sounds amazing and those sails look great! I know this isn't classic pirates, but between the new destiny's bounty, the monkey kid ship, and this, it's turning out to be a great wave for ship builders. I'm so excited! -

Now, I wonder, who will be the villians of this theme? In the actual journey to the west they fight a variety of demons along the way, but they aren't all working together, so there's no "unified" villainous force. Is that how this theme will be handled, or are they taking some liberties in that regard? If it's more faithful, then having that variety of villians in one wave sounds fun! -

If this is true, then I’m disappointed. I’m sure it’ll still be great, but we already have an Asian based theme in Ninjago, and I’m not sure what to think of LEGO appealing to China so much. Then again, we still haven’t seen anything, so maybe I shouldn’t judge yet... What this theme real needs to do is to have a distinct style from Ninjago. As for my hopes, for the theme not to be littered with vehicles. Hopefully the journey to the west inspiration will make it more fantasy that sci-fi. -

Now that I think about it more, the prison sounds like it has some amazing potential, but I’ve also wanted to see some possessed vehicles for a while, so hopefully the fire truck delivers. I can’t wait to see what kind of transformations the castle has, imagine the portcullis as the teeth of a mouth! This wave is exciting, I hope we don’t have to wait too long to see them! Another hulkbuster? Why? The only way I'll consider buying it is if they make it different enough to make it worth it. The avengers tower, meanwhile, sounds amazing! I hope we have some new villains, there are so many we've never seen before. -

LEGO Hidden Side 2020

I thought that at first too, but look at the tops of the boxes (they’re listed here: https://www.brothers-brick.com/2019/11/14/first-look-at-6-new-lego-hidden-side-sets-for-2020-news/ ) They show the normal versions of the figures, with some useful parts too, like he lighthouse keeper’s grey beard. If they stopped including the normal faces I would be very disappointed, but they haven’t! Beyond that, I actually like most of these. The two vehicles are rather boring, but the plane especially looks good for what it is, and it’s hard not to want the two-headed ghost. I actually like the subway station, especially for the function! While the lighthouse is the best built, for some reason it doesn’t catch my attention that much, while the ghost fair does, although it feels a little barebones. Oh yeah, the portal’s cool too, but not that special really. I’ll get a few, probably the ghost fair and the buggy, maybe the subway station if my budget allows. -
Could be like a mix of the two, game figs where they can, and comic ones where game ones don't exist, like black panther, thanos and Hawkeye. Also, about the spiderman sets, we already know the vulture is the 2016 one, right? Unless it's just a placeholder in the preliminary catalog... Yeah, I won't hold out for much in the spiderman sets either way Edit: Also, I've heard the avengers game will have post launch content, maybe that's where thanos comes in?
-
Wait, now this is interesting. It's not just the usual "loosely based on" thing. What if they are actually licenced from the game? Is that possible? I mean, how else could they just make the game suit a minifigure without the licensing? After the spiderman comic con exclusive, I guess this could be the case. If so, I'm excited for the future of this theme!

Just realized something... What if one of the two avengers sets has a brickbuilt MODOK? Like, if for the face it used they piece used for Giantman's head? It wouldn't count as a minifigure, so it wouldn't be on the list, and we have gotten both $20 dollar sets with 4 characters and $40 dollar sets with 5. Besides, what would be the point of just having AIM troopers by themselves? Then again, I feel like expecting anything beyond what we've been told isn't the best idea. But a man can dream...
