42083 - Bugatti Chiron
emielroumen replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
And just yesterday Bugatti unveiled the Divo. Model B for this set? -
The multiple lever modification I like the most. Annoying to switch between boom rise, extend, winch every time.

Thanks for the answer. I might source 4 of the Claas tires from Bricklink anyway, but will give V3 a shot with the PP tires first :). V2 was slightly leaning backwards with the tires and I therefore lowered the back axle by one hole to make it look right. It would be a major change for V3, at least that’s what it looks like when I go through the instructions. Anyway, can wait to sort the parts (and tear down 2 sets) to get started!

Wow! Just bought a few of the pieces yesterday that I still needed to complete V2 (again) in yellow. Especially the panels that encase the battery box are not really cheap. If possible I would like to build this one in yellow-black instead of blue-black. At first glance it seems doable. Edit: looks like yellow is achievable, just bought the build instructions. Quality of Backboe V2 BI and other MOCs of you were excellent, can’t wait to see these!

Indeed, as stated in my previous post. In the Telehandler the lower and upper structure each have their own battery box and IR receivers/Sbrick.

It looks like there is room for a motor in the carrier below the turntable on one side. If one could just add another battery box the 2 structures can be controlled independently, like @Jurgen Krooshoop Telehandler.

Ok, I misread your comment. As far as I can see now my set came with the traditional gears only.
-
I applied your modification and the boom goes up without any problem. Btw, no gears left as spares in my set.

I've taken a few photos for size comparison and put it next to @Jurgen Krooshoop's Telehandler or @sheo's Terex (amongst others). From a weight perspective the Telehandler and Terex (each modified to fit 2 AA battery boxes), it is the lightest though (3475 compared to 3365 grams). I've applied the most commonly used mods and reinforced the chassis in a few places, well over a year ago. Removable body, HOG shifting on dash, HOG shifting and steering behind seats, etc. This week I placed an order for a few of the Bugatti gearbox parts to see if those can become part of the Porsche too. I recently noticed that 2 parts of the 90 degrees limiter have started to show signs of wear: cracks! Do you have the same issue?
-
Don't forget to modify the gearing of the LAs anyway. See the 42082 review topic (and first post) by @Jim for instance. One LA will take most of the load if you keep the gears as is.

Technic legacy/oop parts

Would love to see the fragile steering hubs from the good old test car again! -
@MrTekneex: are you considering to obtain this set too and build and alternative model?
